What's new

What was the last thing you ate?

My grandmother took seriously ill last night . She is in ICU so not much cooking at home & the hospital has a good canteen .
I had 2 cutlets & toast at hospital earlier in evening & at home had grilled cheese toast with a fried egg .

Very sorry to hear that, hope she gets better.

I had broadbean meatball salaan last night

Had chilli con carne for dinner tonight, with rice, cheddar, tex mex (guacamole etc), and some left over dahl from yesterday too.

Chicken Charga with rice, vegetables, salad, sweet potato wedges and halloumi fries

I would tell you but I think Abdul is lurking somewhere :irfan

Carrying on the biryani theme, mum made vegetable biryani and ate it with yogurt and also some chicken stew with kidney beans and chickpeas. There was also pizza and garlic pizza bread but I stayed away from it. All this while watching Dhobi ghat (movie) with the family and browsing PP :) I like Saturday nights in like this, don't need to be partying :)

Had a really nice lunch. Boiled pasta with brocolli, then added seasonings, mackerel, cream cheese and normal cheese. Simple and delicious :)

Thai green curry with a twist!

Monday we marinated the chicken with thai green pasta and coconut milk, let it marinate overnight then last night baked it. It was absolutely amazing and first time trying this. 10/10 would recommend. I would think pretty good if you're trying to put on weight as quite high calories cos of the coconut milk and thai paste. Gains gains gains.

A couple of pieces each of BBQ'ed chicken and fried fish. Also had some Karhai with naan.

After that, some Ice Cream and Tea.

After dinner , some truly spectacular[ flavor & size ] organically grown strawberries with fresh cream . Had a big bowl , extremely satisfying .

Been very unhealthy recently, assignments have forced me to become lazy. Have had crisps such as sensations, and chocolates such as terrys chocolate orange etc. That reminds me, a few weeks ago I had this really nice cake, it was amazing, was like chocolate gateu and had fruit on it as well as minstrels, dairy milk sticks and lots of other chocolate, one of the best cakes ever.

I made beef steak the other day, what tips do you guys have from preventing it getting chewy? I didn't cook it for long

I met up with my friend yesterday at the library to do coursework and she brought me some cheese and tomato bake, was very nice.

Had a snickers protein bar the other day as needed something to get before work. Today after our uni assignment was submitted, went to some shwarma restaurant with 2 coursemates, I didn't want to get anything, the other 2 insisted and eventually one of them just brought me food, would be rude to turn down free food :) It was a chicken fillet with rice and salad, was grilled, healthiest thing on the menu I guess

Had some vegan sausages from Aldi and they were really nice. Think it was butternut squash and red pepper flavour.

Had a full English breakfast for Lunch the other day. Vegan sausages, toasts, baked beans, cheese, fried eggs and fried mushrooms

First cricket match of the season today, in the tea break had sandwiches, pizza, cookies, quiche, fruits etc

Have been a lot of nice foods at iftar this ramadhan. Sweet Potato Pakoras, halloumi fries, onion rings, chicken charga, channa chaat, pulkia (idk how it's spelt), dates, muller corner yogurt (actually some cheap knock off from Aldi but was equivalent), aloo ka salaan, chicken wings just to name a few things I've consumed over iftar this ramadhan.

Had quite a feast in iftar yesterday and today. Pizza, garlic bread pizza, tempura prawns and today had things like garlic bread, bakar khani, and for dinner had punjabi pulao and lamb courgette salan too.

I don't eat much during Iftaar.

Just pokoras and drink 1 litre bottle of lemonade or some other drink

The other day tried refried beans for the first time. Certainly don't look appetitising at all, but taste pretty good tbf, had that in wrap with chicken fajitas. Yesterday for iftar had falafels, garlic bread, fruit chaat, channa chaat, hummus and a few other snacks and also the other day dad brought some stuff from outside, samosas, pakoras, chicken patties etc

Ramadan is approaching the end! For sehri recently I've been having an Aldi Knock off of Shreddies cereal, and fruit.

My mum made pakoras the other day, and also have had mozzarela fingers, tempura prawns, and for dinner I've had palak ghosht, channa dahl ghosht etc. Honestly speaking, fasts haven't been that difficult
