Where do Yadav-Chahal rank among the most lethal spin-bowling duo in LOI cricket ever?

Let’s hope Kohli picks the ‘special’ Kuldeep tomorrow for the series finale just like he has backed KL Rahul through his slump in form...

England will be hoping for this also

Beautiful post.

Our fans have been reduced to criticizing players of vastly superior teams because their own team is not capable of anything.

It is a pitiful situation.

As beautiful as saying Krunal is better than Imad Wasim.

Considering how clueless Babar and other Pakistani batsmen are against spinners with variations, you would expect Kuldeep to make an impact even when he is in atrocious form.

But then again, India can beat full-strength Pakistan with their U-19 players 9 out of 10 times, so you are right they may not need to select Kuldeep.

Kuldeep bowled well and got lucky to get a batsman of Babar's caliber out twice. The second time was an absolutely unplayable delivery that would have gotten most batsmen in the world out.

But luck can only run for so long before someone takes you apart and reduces you to a shell of a man you used to be.

Even Kohli is not stupid enough to go for that lol.

He wants to win the series. He can't afford to have Kuldeep bowl and get hit for another 8 sixes.

But then again, I could be proven wrong...

Although Kuldeep has been absolutely terrible for the last 2 years, we shouldn’t be getting all excited considering our premier limited over leg spinner is yet to take a 5 wicket haul, averages 32.34 against top 8 teams and doesn’t even consider himself to be a full time leg spinner. Kinda sad that our standards are so low that we celebrate the failures of other cricketers

It's not about celebrating the failures of other cricketers. When a player is built up as the second coming of Warne and lauded with so much praise and adulation, it shouldn't surprise anyone that people will laugh when he fails so spectacularly

Kuldeep got babar because Ind hardly plays Pakistan. If ind and Pak play regularly like Eng and Ind. Then I am sure Kuldeep will get murdered by Fakhar.
Kuldeep lacks courage. Seems like he will start crying every time he gets a pasting. Never really recovered since Moeen smashed him to tears

These very posters claim Moen is rubbish and mediocre. Never mind i d a good batsman like Stoke taking him apart, the so called rubbish batsman has also done it. Anyway India has vast talent pool and proper player management and training no doubt they will soon unearth better spinners than Kul-Cha.

Moeen has 51+ average and worse economy than Kuldeep.

Remind me how many times zampa not a great spinner either got kohli out. Does that make kohli clueless against spin.

Both Kuli and Chahal are one trick ponies. They can only bowl. Their places are under threat and to a large extent have been taken by the likes of Washi, Jaddu and Axar in Limited over Cricket. Unless you learn how to hold a bat and hit maximums, the place is never secured.

We should drop Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli too then. They are one trick ponies who can't bowl.

Kohli averages 50+ in Test cricket and has 5-6 double hundreds with a top score of 250.

He is an excellent player of spin and getting out to Zampa or Rashid a few times doesn’t take anything away from his record.

Babar averages in the early 40s and doesn’t even have a 150 in Test cricket. He recently got rinsed by Maharaj at home. Same Maharaj who got smashed by Agarwal at home who ended up scoring double hundreds and big hundreds.

Babar is an ordinary player of spin and just a solid B grade batsman overall. He is the best batsman in Pakistan by a mile but only comparable to the support cast of Indian batting like Rahul, Agarwal, Iyer etc., which showcases the massive gulf between India and Pakistan.

Alright, Babar is the worst batsman in the world.....but this thread is about Kuldeep 'the special talent'.

Looks like that Moeen Ali knock has ended his career.

I'll admit I was one of those who got fooled by Kuldeep spinning webs around Babar in the Asia cup and the World cup. The Pak posters here might be right, Kuldeep is probably bog average afterall.

Maybe it's just Babar looking like a tailender against any sort of decent spin that fooled us about Kuldeep's quality.

More about the mystery. Its gone now

Never understood people tagging Kuldeep as a mystery bowler. He is not at all like a Mendis or Narine who had a lot of variations. If anything Kuldeep is very orthodox in that he doesn't bowl fast and flat like many LOI spinners and loops it bowling slow and I don't think he has a good wrongun, he just has his normal stock delivery. It's perhaps his style of bowling (left arm wrist spin) is rare in world cricket and that probably contributed to the mystery part.

The reason he's struggling is that he lacks the pace to succeed in LOIs. People can just wait for it and launch it to the stands because he's too slow to trouble batsmen. When he tries to bowl fast, he loses his length. I don't think he's suited for LOIs, perhaps should concentrate on test cricket to stop his career from being very wasted.

Ok. How does that relate to this thread? Why can't fans from Pakistan criticise/praise an indian player on a Pakistani forum? Their players don't have to be world beaters for them to post an opinion here. :inti

Yes variation of pace is must.Chahal has same problem to a small extent, although he has a googly

Babar is not the world batsman in the world. He is a very good batsman but he is not close to the level Pakistani fans think he is at, and he is not going to end up in the league they think he will.

The issue that Pakistan is the least talented cricketing nation in the world and always has been. Whenever we get a quality player, we lose our marbles and go overboard.

India produces multiple better players than Babar every generation.
