I didn't like the prequels or the sequels...

New Hope and Empire were the very best followed by ROTJ.

They should have just left it there or made the prequels in the same style as The Mandalorian, i.e. with less cartoonish special affects and more character depth.

Also, if they absolutely had to make another 6 episodes then they should have done the sequels before the prequels and all least 5 to 6 years earlier, i.e in the mid 1990's rather then the late 1990's, whilst the main characters were young enough.

The prequels introduced CGI as a technology to Hollywood for the first time. Like, that was literally where a lot of the technology was invented. The Mandalorian came out in 2019. I know the special effects don’t hold up, but you have to give credit to the prequels for changing the entire industry - it’s why in 2019 you can now watch Thanos command an entire army of computer-generated aliens with popcorn on your lap without thinking about the technology.

So much wrong with the sequels, made me hate the franchise. TGK has some pertinent questions. I'll throw some more if fans of the sequels can answer his first instead of dodging. For instance why wasn't hyperspace ramming used in the previous movies if it is so lethal. Plenty of opportunities where our heroes could have sacrificed themselves like Holdo, going full kamikaze mode. Rey reminded me of overpowered Goku in later versions of DragonBall franchise lol, also zero fault.

Coming to the topic at hand I'll rank them as:

Empire Strikes Back
Revenge of the Sith
A New Hope
Return of the Jedi (Ewoks were the worst species till arrival of Gungans in Phantom Menace)
[big gap]
Rogue One
Attack of the Clones
Solo: A Star Wars Story
The Phantom Menace
[big gap]
The Force Awakens
[big gap]
The Last Jedi
The Rise of Skywalker

The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker were total torture especially the way they destroyed/sidelined my favorite character from the originals like Chewbacca, Luke, Vader, Leia. By the end of TROS I was half expecting Rey to use the Force to revive Ben and in the process dying again, then Ben doing the same to revive her and this nonsense going on back and forth. That way at least it could have been marketed as a decent comedy film.

Kathleen Kennedy and Disney have ruined this franchise forever. I haven't even watched Mandalorian because I am so fed up with these jokers. Disney may be great in the theme parks and merchandise selling business, even greater when it comes to destroying art, storytelling, logic and most of all long-cherished movies.

It's time to say "hello there" to General Kenobi, as Star Wars reveals a poster and release date for its latest series.

Boba Fett had barely put his helmet down before the announcement that many fans were waiting for - The next Star Wars series, starring Obi-Wan Kenobi, will begin streaming on Disney+ from 25 May.

The date will mark the 45th anniversary of Star Wars and the day the very first film was released in America in 1977.

The Kenobi series, which brings Ewan McGregor back in the lead role, is part of a huge year for the franchise that began with The Book of Boba Fett and could end with season three of The Mandalorian.

"I think it's really going to satisfy Star Wars fans," says Ewan McGregor.

The new series will be set 10 years after Episode III (nearly 20 years before the events of The Mandalorian), as Obi-Wan watches over a young Luke Skywalker on the sand planet Tatooine.

Along with McGregor, the series has also brought back Hayden Christensen as Luke's dad, Anakin Skywalker, otherwise known as Darth Vader.

"I think it's no secret that Hayden Christensen comes back and we got to play scenes together again as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and it was just fantastic to work with him again."

Very few Star Wars characters are more famous or iconic than Obi-Wan Kenobi, meaning there is a risk of a fan backlash if people are unhappy with the new series.

During his interview, Ewan McGregor says dealing with criticism is nothing new as he experienced something similar when his trilogy of Star Wars movies first came out.

"I mean it's quite interesting, after the experience of making the first three films and living through sort of their reception in the world, which wasn't always glowing, I have to say," McGregor said.

"And then now, meeting the generation who we made those films for, the children then. To them, they're their Star Wars films, you know? For us, it was the original films of the '70s, but for them, our films were their Star Wars.

"So to step back into his [Obi-Wan's] shoes again now and do a series, a whole series about Obi-Wan Kenobi for those fans, it just makes me really happy."

I’ve watched both seasons of the Mandalorian and also the Book of Boba Fett now. Thoroughly enjoyed all of that. Looking forward to the future Star Wars spin off series.

The originals were the best and the Force Awakens was pretty good. But the two films after that were not as good.

I thought Rogue one was amazing as well! Better than any of the new ones!

It was, but I dont consider a "Star Wars" star wards film, if you know what I mean. But yes, it was excellent.

The big screen is going back long, long ago, to a galaxy far, far away, as three new Star Wars films have been announced by Lucasfilm.

The three movies will take place at different stages of the Star Wars timeline, and will be directed by James Mangold, fresh from the new Indiana Jones film, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, from Ms Marvel, as well as Dave Filoni - the man behind The Mandalorian and the upcoming Ahsoka.

Are we finally going to be shown the story of Darth Plagueis the wise?

Here we go again. Of course this was coming. Disney bought this from Lucas and will milk this cow as much as they can.

I feel they can inflict even more damage to the Star Wars I knew as a kid. They have mutated this into a monstrosity.
