Bazid Khan during a show on a local sports channel, discussed the spin combination for Pakistan in the squad selection for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025:
"Look, I believe the spinners should definitely include Sufiyan. He is a guaranteed selection. Abrar could also serve as your main spinner, especially for the match in Dubai, where the ball is likely to grip more. With this combination, if Salman Ali Agha can provide four to five overs, he becomes your sixth bowler.
"You also have the option to avoid playing four fast bowlers. Instead, you could select Shaheen, Naseem, and Haris as the three fast bowlers, with Abrar and Sufiyan handling the spin. This would cover both the pace and spin departments with just five bowlers."
"Alternatively, you could add another fast bowler, like Aamer Jamal, alongside Shaheen, Haris, and Abrar. This would give you four fast bowlers and two spinners. With Salman Ali Agha in the mix, you'd have six bowlers, which should be sufficient. Anything more would be excessive."
"I think Sufiyan is particularly important for Pakistan in their group. Apart from New Zealand, all other Asian sides will find it difficult to face him. The left-arm spinner is a rare commodity in Pakistan, making him a valuable asset. Rizwan used him really well in the South Africa match, and I believe he should be the first-choice spinner for the Champions Trophy."
