and those 5 batters are more than enough to handle any bowling attack.

India has a problem of sameness in their batting. Kohli, Iyer, Rahul all thrive on picking singles and two and score at 90-110 SR. They are not the kind of middle order capable of chasing 330 in an ODI game. Peak Kohli did it but not the current version. This is where we need impact batters at 6 and 7. Jadeja is not an impact batsman at that position who can say, chase down 75 of 55 with Ashwin and tail.

Basically you are 260/6 at 41 overs and will struggle to chase 335 because of lack of match winning ability of Jadeja and those below him.

India looks like it has the best chance, home advantage and good team. England is not too far behind at all neither is Australia.

Any of the 3 could take it, Eng and Aus have stronger batting but India’s attack is overall better.

Pakistan as dark horse at #4 behind these 3.

It is very unlikely that we don't see India in the semifinals and in knockout games, anything can happen. Even if they play with 5 proper batters, they are likely to score big totals with the likes of Pandya and Jadeja coming at number 7 and 8.
 
Initially, I genuinely had the belief that Pakistan was able to win this World Cup. But Naseem Shah is too big of a loss.

So now, I predict that finally, finally New Zealand will win the ODI World Cup.

But will be supporting Pakistan of course, and I would love to be proved wrong by Pakistan winning it!

Former England cricketer Stuart Broad has chosen ICC World Cup 2023 hosts India as his favorite for the mega event.

Defending champions England are competing with full force to win the TITLE in the ICC World Cup 2023, but the former cricketer said in his column in the British newspaper that if hosts India are able to play without any mistake, then it is very difficult to stop them.

Expressing his opinion about England's chances of retaining the title, he said that England cricket team captain Jos Buttler definitely has a challenging team.


"If England are able to retain their World Cup title, it will be an extraordinary effort, but my dominant feeling is that if India plays their best tournament, it will be very difficult to stop.

"Jos Buttler certainly has a challenging team with the ability to score more, but I just think India, as hosts and a top-ranked ODI team.

The British fast bowler pointed out that the last three World Cups were lifted by the host countries and this trend makes this year's hosts India the favorites to lift the trophy.

Need to be realistic. Pakistan does not have the same quality in batting as I see in India, South Africa, Australia, England, and New Zealand. Even Lanka has more attacking batters. Bowling is also okay rather than exceptional. I think these 4 teams will finish in the top 4. India, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand
 
So far Pakistan progressing so good, if Pakistan beats India so there are prominent chances that Pakistan can win this world cup.
 
India have home advantage.They will get spinning wickets against England,SA and New Zealand.India beat Australia on a wicket with lots of spin.
 
NZ for the win, Although SA and India could win as well. But money still on NZ

They’re slightly old now and frankly Southern Afrikaan and Bharat both have a better team now.

Its looking more like: South Africa, New Zealand, India, Pakistan - this is probably going to be the order of Semi-Finalists. India may lose at least one out of their games against RSA & NZ. Maybe will also get affected by rain somewhere. Pakistan may crawl up their way to semis.

NZ will smartly negotiate India by working through our loopholes & knockout pressure (in Knockouts NZ have upperhand against India. I still remember their first champions trophey aka ICC knockout trophy triumph against us).

South Africa will continue their choke business if Pakistan are good enough to exploit.

If Pak meet NZ in finals then they have the historical benefit of superiority over NZ (just the opposite of India's mental block against NZ)

If the above SF Order is different say like:
NZ, RSA, India, Pakistan - then India have better chance to win all the way surprisingly as Pak will take NZ out of equation, RSA with their usual choke + Pakistan might find it difficult to handle the pressure in big stadium against India!

India strong favs to win. If Pak qualify and make final we will win, unless it’s v India then game over. Hoping for CT17 repeat in this scenario.
 
Very difficult to look beyond India. Complete team covered and firing in all departments. Home support.

South Africa playing like dark horses. NZ doing what they do best, composed performances which make for strong tournament showings.

Of the rest, they're all struggling.
 
still its early to say but South Africa making a strong case to be in the finals atleast.

Hopefully they won't choke this this time and wil carry this momentum.
 
South Africa are not dark horses. They look like the most threatening complete side they've ever sent to a World Cup. Lack of experience/choking is the only issue.

Only on flat patta if they bat first in a ko. It will turn a bit. I see no chance. They also struggle if there is bit of bounce.

They will get exposed.

endo of this week, either England or Australia will be in top 4. Pak will be six. Pak will take a week or two before they can potentially get back to top 4

Sa, ind, nz have qualified irrespective of what happens now lol. They'll feast on other minnows now.

It's a race between aus, pak and afg atm
 
I think one from India, Australia, and South Africa should lift the trophy.

Aussies are a bit behind but I think they can become lethal if they reach semi.
 
One of India or SA are going to overcome their knockout choking gene and lift the trophy, because I don't think Aussies or NZ are strong enough.
