Man to man - there is no comparison - Pakistan cannot win on paper but then, it only takes one or two performances from Pakistan a-al-Fakhar Zaman or a Mohammad Amir burst of wickets to change the odds significantly!

We keep on losing from winning positions. I doubt we'll even get into a winning position vs India.

If Pakistan can tame Kohli, Rohit and Bumrah, 70 % match in their bag.

The way Amir bowled today I say Pakistan, we will miss Dhawan.

I think whichever team bats first will have a huge advantage. I hope Kohli doesn't make the mistake of fielding first like he did in CT final

Anyone.

India is a giant with a weak underbelly.

One strong punch at the right place and we will crumble.

However on the flip side, when things go right, we will maul teams.

---

Will choose India.

But Kohli's luck is such that nothing can be expected. :))

With amir back in such form Pakistan are clear favourites to win.

70-30 in favour of Pakistan.

If Pakistan can hold on to their catches and use their brain while bowling and batting they have a chance.

India are massive favourites though.

If Malik and Asif are playing then I'll back India to win. Cannot win when you are only competing with 9 players. Infact with Asif's fielding he is actually playing for the opposition. So 9 vs 12. No team can win with these odds.

70-30 in favor of India. Pak will lose unless amir or malik "happen" to them. Fakhar sorted out for India. All the rest can be taken care of.

India without an iota of doubt. Pakistan will not even compete. Mark my words. Take a screen shot of this comment. After that Pakistan will win all 4 matches.

Amir vs our top order on a helpful track is scary man.

20/3 and game is finito.

I can see why some Indian fans are skeptical inspite of our team's overall superiority.

As Vadivelu would say...

Building strong... Basement weak. :))

MSK Prasad and our team management are truly one of a kind.

I was sure India will win until yesterday. But looking at the way Pak fought today, i am not sure anymore. Whatever it is lets hope for a nail biter.. we have not had a good Indo-Pak match for a long time. last few times it same one sided story for either team

I think if India beat NZ, then they beat us as well. Depends on their momentum.

Yeah, but dont worry, trust our failure to lose from winning positions. We are professional at that now.

I think India should win tomorrow match so that India vs pak doesn't have any effect in India's journey. I am scared this time around.

Can't see us winning tbh. That SL rained off match really hurt us. Had the match gone on we would have gone into the Aus match with some momentum.

Our course Pak. Everyone knows after losing a game Pak always wins the next one. After all, they do have the third best batting unit and as many posters have pointed out - Pak only needs 2 wickets to get into the Indian tail.

But for Imam and Hafeez throwing away their wickets today - like Dre Russ and Brathwaithe - the game was in the bag for Pak against Aus. India won't know what's going to hit them on Sunday. Advance congratulations to all the Pak supporters. The streak is finally going to end.

India is world class team with proper batsmen like Kohli, Rahul and Dhoni in the middle with explosive opener like Rohit Sharma. The match is going to be a one sided with India winning it comfortably.

If India drop Kuldeep for Shami and play with 3 pacers I think it might be a straight line to the finish.

India should bowl Rohit and Kohli. They will get at least 5 wickets against us on any surface.

India because they can hold a bat,
They can field
They can bowl
They have that Australian of old attitude, fight and win even when the chips are down!

Pakistan will be lucky to beat even NZ or South Africa let alone India.

I am a ‘dheet’ Pakistani, so I will support Pakistan.

I expect Pakistan to win the match if the pitch is batting friendly.

India will miss Dhawan.

Those who are saying it all depends whether Pakistan can get the top 3 out cheaply or not, need to realise the way this side is bowling with the new ball, there isn't much hope they can harm their top order.

It's a tense game for players as it is against India in an WC fixture, but having to win after the back of today's loss makes it so much harder.

India's streak is going to continue and I expect them to knock Pakistan out of this tournament, because they will also be fired up and eager to ensure they are the team that eliminates their arch-rivals in this WC.

Everyone says Indian middle order is weak , they are only vulnerable if the top order is dismissed cheaply (which isn't oftent) . But most teams middle order will be under pressure if they had to face the new ball. :))

If we don't get early wickets , we wont beat India. I think if India win the toss they will use the same formula they did against Australia. I have no clue what we will do if we win the toss because we clearly don't plan for the opponents .

Don't forget that the Pakistani team's tail almost won the match against Australia. So won't totally disregard Pakistan's chances against India.

Other than Amir, Pakistani bowlers bat much better than they bowl, even better than some of their batsmen. In other words, Pakistani batting goes deep, but bowling is average. So the best bet for India is to bat first and put in a huge total (340+), taking full advantage of the ordinary Pakistani bowling (Sorry, Pakistani fans, I know you consider your bowling line up 'Gun Bowlers').

With a decent 340+ score on the board, India should wait for the pressure to build up on the Pakistani batting lineup. Pakistani players are mentally weak, lately, and as the RRR climbs up, wait for Pakistan team to make a mess of it.

Two problems with this plan though: 1. Dhawan wont play 2. India needs to win the toss

Hopefully it’s doesn't rain else rain will reign the match . Man to man , India looks a better team . But can’t rule out unpredictable Pakistan team

India on paper but Pakistan - well are Pakistan!

India beats Pakistan to a pulp on paper, but all things have to come to an end one day, including the streak. We will never be better than Indian again, so whenever the time comes for the streak to end, it will always be an upset. Whether it is this year, in 2023, in 2027 and so on.

India have a 90% chance of winning this game. Pakistan have a 10% window because of Sarfraz and Kohli.

Sarfaraz is a pathetic captain, but also a lucky captain, especially against India. In the U-19 World Cup in 2006, Pakistan managed to defend 110 on his watch, when Anwar Ali somehow managed to swing the ball more than any bowler in history.

In the 2017 Champions Trophy Final, Pakistan pulled off one of the biggest flukes in ODI cricket history. Furthermore, Kohli is quite an unlucky captain in his own right, especially against Pakistan. I think he has captained three ODIs against Pakistan and lost twice. I won't go over the Champions Trophy Final again, but he also led against Pakistan in the 2014 Asia Cup, where Afridi hit two sixes with closed eyes against Ashwin to win the match.

Bad things tend to happen to Kohli when he leads against India. Hence, the contrasting lucks of the two respective captains is the only hope that our rubbish team has of prevailing over India.

Very good point about Pakistan's terrible new ball skills. There is a reason why they have one of the worst records in recent history with it.

On a side note, it's always funny reading Mamoon's posts where he will write long posts about how pathetic the Pakistan team is, yet somehow keeps fearing they will fluke repeated wins against the best teams. :91:

Glad we have fans who do not wait till the team gets to the number 1 rank to start supporting them. I hope more 'dheet' Pakistani supporters speak up.

India were much bigger favourites in the CT final but Pakistan ended up winning. The people who use the word 'fluke' to describe that win dont understand the word or the sport. This term is most often used in snooker when you end up potting a ball with some extreme luck with no intention of potting it in such a fashion. Crushing a team by 180 runs is not a fluke, its' a demolition.

India will bowl 20 overs of spin minimum which will be a huge help for Pakistani bats, as it was in the CT final when the so called great ODI spinners in Ashwin and Jadeja were slapped around the park for fun. Bumrah will be a threat due to his accuracy but wasn't so impressive against Australia.

I'd bring in Hasnain, pace is always an issue for most Indian batsmen and replace Malik with Haris, drop Afridi for Shadab.

Pakistan have played Aus and England a lot recently, so shouldn't be worried about India and wont be. Fakhar is the key, if he fires Pakistan will win again.

No Dhawan and Pak in a must win situation.

I pick Pak to win and break the Wordcup Jinx finally.

I have heard that there is a great chance of the game being a washout, so I am now predicting that Pakistan will thrash India within an inch of their lives. India has only a small chance of pulling off a fluke win.

Even without Dhawan India will be too good for us. Only chance we have is batting first on a belter with the sun pelting down putting India under pressure when they chase. We need a repeat of the Champions Trophy final.

That's what they said about the Pak-Aus match as well. We may get a shorter game which is possible at Old Trafford.

Met office predicting 40 percent chance of rain. That isn't even a certainty lol. The forecast can change closer to the time.

If the game is rained off then I'm definitely sticking with a win for Pakistan prediction. If it goes ahead then that would give India a great chance sadly.

A reduced game isn't a bad thing for India. KL,Rohit ,and Kohli are very good T20 players. We know how good their bowling is.

Can we atleast go a game without having a shocker in the field and dropping catches? I’d be happy with that much.

A fan isn’t a fan when they cannot support their team during the tough times.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Pakistan Zindabad.

One team has won 41 of their 58 matches in the last 2 years.

Second team has won 18 of their 43 matches in the last 2 years.

One team is ranked #2 with 121 points.

Second team is ranked #6 with 94 points.

I think the answer is obvious.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that India are favourites, but that doesn't necessarily signify the end outcome of the match otherwise the World Cup can just be handed over to England on the basis of their ranking.

Pakistan can beat India, depending on how both teams perform on the day.

95% chance we will drop one of the top 3. Also Pandya will want revenge for CT17.

Might get messy.

Indians are one of the best players of fast bowling. they actually struggle against slower bowlers more. Also, on sunday India will mostly not play two spinners due to wet condition.

Do you honestly think Bumrah will overstep again? India won't make a mistake with Fakhar again and him scoring is very vital for a high chance of winning at 75%

Babar is the only one remaining but even if he scores we have an average chance of winning, around 50% but will take that.

If neither these two batsmen fire then its up to our inconsistent bowling, meaning a 25% chance.

But Kohli's luck is such that nothing can be expected. :))

Bro what do you by the last part?

With Kohli's luck he has averaged 60 and scored thousands of runs, with Kohli's luck he has turned India into an amazing winning team.

India will win. Pakistan just don’t seem to be clicking by losing matches from positions of strength. Had a number of opportunities to close the game against Australia but poor fielding, dropped chances, gifting wickets at the wrong time cost us big time. I would drop Malik and Shaheen and bring in Hasnain with his extra pace and Harris who can bat and bowl a bit if needed (at least better the Malik who is in terrible form).
Anyway if Pakistan win this match I would actually then back them to go all the way!

80% chance of rain :))

This World Cup is shaping up to be one of the worst. Even 2007 wasn't this bad

Pakistan can beat India, depending on how both teams perform on the day.

Did it need to be said. It is similar to saying that it will rain if there are clouds in the sky.

If Pakistan performed like they did against England, they may win but it is very hard for an average team to show that kind of performance very often. On current form, India will start as heavy favorites.

I voted for Pakistan. YOLO. The loss v WI sparked a reaction and hopefully the boys will make it up to us fans for losing the game yesterday we really should have won

Fakher will be targeted with the short ball and ball on 5th stump for 2nd /3rd slip catch and a similar trap will be set for him as in the Australia game for a thick edge He should be mindful of this.

I agree Pakistan should go in with the young Hasnain as India have not played him so could provide that extra pace.

WorldCup 2019 has so far broken streaks and not just ordinary streaks but quite established one`s

Eng - Run of fortunes ended in Pakistan Game
Pak - Broke their own losing streak
SL - Broke streak of gaining a Point vs Pak in all Worldcups

And Now Vs India - The All time Red Hot streak will see its end

Even Undertaker couldn`t save his streak despite being firm favourite at WrestleMania everytime he stepped in

To Me Streak vs India is already broken and i`m sensing a continuous show in ICC events since CT final by Pakistan

Well in CT we won everything from the point of where it was required for us to stay and progress in the competition. The situation is quite similar, so a CT Final esque performance is required. I believe Amir will do well, in terms of batting atleast one of them will need to stand up and make a century, surely with the magnitude of the pak india game atleast one of the batsmen will score big I hope.

If I had to put money on it, I would put it on India (that's who I voted for). Of course I want Pakistan to win :)
