Home track bully is a term commonly used in cricket to describe sheer dominance of home country against it's oppositions
In past, many teams have exhibited this sheer brilliance like Australia, South Africa, England, New Zealand and India etc.

But the question is who has done it best? So guys share you thoughts below regarding the best home track bully team that you have ever witnessed.

Probably current Indian team. They have not had a drawn test series in last 11 years at home.

Australia between 1993-2008 were close too but they encountered drawn series in 2003 vs India and around 2001 vs NZ.

I think the real competition that could match or surpass current Indian team is not Australia but West Indies of 1980s.

I don't think the word bully applies here.normally flat track bully/ home track bully is used negatively for player's or teams who can't perform outside. So I will prefer word dominance than a mere bully who cannot perform outside. I will go with india after 2012 eng series loss till now.

OP must have used that term for a reason. Pretty sure he knows how the term HTB is used in the cricketing circle.

India lost test series at home only twice since 2001, Australia in 2004 & England in 2012 were the only series victories against India in India, such a great record.

In terms of weightage given by most posters on this forum, the pattern is : ODI WC > T20 WC > WTC > CT > Away Test Series Win > Home Test Series Win . Therefore, it hardly matters as to which team is the biggest HTB or not.

India without any doubt.
In the last 10 years, India have lost only 4 home test matches, Australia 7 and Newzealand 8..
India last lost home series way back in 2012.
Australia and England lost multiple home series in this time period.

The current England side may be harder to beat at home. But i doubt they will win 17 test series in a row.
Current eng team can't bat on swing pitches against aus /ind/sa.hey lost all their matches in such conditions. But they can destroy any one on flat tracks

Current indian team.

No team can dream of winning the series against india in india .

India is unbeaten from 17 test series so far .

Thats why india is final frontier for Australia .

Australia will take a test series win in india over world cup .

BD team would closer to definition- tigers at home, lambs for slaughter abroad.
Here are the recent test series results in BD. In 2021, Pak whitewashed BD 2-0.
In 2022, Ind whitewashed BD 2-0. In 2023, NZ drew with BD 1-1. So, BD are closer to some other definition. Certainly not HTB.

Bharat not only beats teams at home but humiliates and burries them.

The invincible Aussie juggernaut,
The gun holding Southern Afrikaaners,
The Pretender Bazzballing crossdressers,

They all came and groveled.

India has always taken advantage of playing at home with favorable conditions but I think they are now at a level where they can compete with any side in any circumstances. So for me the biggest home track bullies are now the New Zealanders.

Comfortably India. Especially since 2013

India has won 40.tests and lost just 4 of the 52 tests they have played at home in this period.

But the extent of dominance comes when one noted that their batters average 41.48 and bowlers average just 23.11 in this period. Almost a 19 point average points to.absolute dominance over visiting teams.

Australia is the only team that.has somewhat given a semblance of a challenge to India and even they have a bowling avg of 33.7 and a batting average of 25.9. England comes next best with a bowling avg of 39.7 and batting avg of 26.2. Imagine the plight of other teams !

And it becomes really scary because it's not like India has had a stable all time great batting line up in this period. They have had more than 50 players wear the jersey in this period at home alone (roughly 1 debutant per test) and yet they have managed to steamroll pretty much all visiting teams.

Even the latest series vs Eng, India fielded six debutantes and yet pulverized the opposition.

Nice post bro i agree with your all points

That is some insane stat. Just lost 4 out of 52. Wow. That is remarkable! Dont think it will ever be matched..

What is even more amazing is that ind only lost 1 test series at home in the last 20 years! Absolute home track dominance that. Even Aus has lost a few home test series in 20 years.

I think in cricketing terms home track bully means that dominent at home but is not that good outside. In this case current indian team can't be home track bullies.

Indian team in the 90s and Eng team from the 05-12 period can be labeled as home track bullies

India comfortably wins this title. Their record at home has been so dominant that you can only imagine that teams like Pakistan or Sri Lanka will be able to match it from asia.

Then we can say Australia is another home track bully after India.

You maybe right about winning but what about losing?

Losing a test series at home is ten times more humiliating than losing an away series or a CT or a WC.

Pakistan for instance in the last 10 years has more win % in Bangladesh,Srilanka, Windies, ZImbabwe, Ireland than at home. More than 50% win there. But just 50% win in UAE and Pakistan. They also failed in SENA.

Going by previous post, Pakistan is an opposite of a Home Track Bully. I cant think of appropriate words.. something along the lines of "Home track struggler"

India in recent times obviously have been an epitome of home track bullies. That is why cricket fans around the world celebrated their loss in CWC 2023 final. Because things were getting too boring

Winning the test series is too difficult compare to odi game .
Yep i think in Test its still difficult to beat India in India but in ODIs Pakistan can defeat them if they select the right players like they did one series back in 2012-13

Currently I don't think Pakistan can beat india in odi but they can beat in T20 as one over change the game .

Gap between india and rest of Asian team become wider day by day.

They have to find the talented players to complete with india and rest of teams .

You are right. The way Pakistan cannot handle any Indian bowler whether fast or spin means ODI wins are unlikely.

Yep. In case of Ind, 'HTB' is a misnomer. Apart from their phenomenal record at home in last 12 yrs, Ind hv won 2 consecutive test series in Aus, drawn test series in Eng (2-2), drawn test series in SA (1-1). And not to mention 3 consecutive test series wins in Windies. (Same Windies where Eng hv failed to win a test series since 2004)

Just for you info, India have only lost 3 home series since 2010 at home and one was against Pakistan. If we could get out of this fake security and no bilateral series stubborness then it would be a thrilling contest to watch.

You're still living in 2012 .man that series was more than a decade ago .

Pakistan last time won odi match against india was 7 year ago ( CT 17) .

Currently Pakistan is no match to india apart from T20 where one over can change rhe games .

Its ironic, how suddenly the bilateral series are being considered as benchmark of success when in the past it was ICC tournament win or nothing. :P
JAMODIs: Just another meaningless ODIs

Dominance?

No, home record doesn't really count because the expectation is for the home team to win at home with ease, hence any home team can land a 50 series winning streak at home, and it doesn't mean a thing. Away records are what count in Cricket.

Thus the preferred word is expectation with home records/performances.

Plz name these "any teams" who have had 50 series win streak at home.
Let's make it simpler, just a 10 series streak at home would suffice :trollface

I think India is the greatest home track bully in cricket history. However, India obviously started to do better in away tours recently (primarily due to Bumrah and Shami). So, India are not a home track bully anymore.

Having said that, I think India may become a home track bully again after Bumrah retires.

Better be a home track bully than be rolled over and white washed by visiting teams....

The bitterness at display

So which team had expected 50 series winning streak as per u. Even the great West indies had 15 years and aus had 16 years winning streak.Great pak team of 90s lost a test series to mighty zimbabwe

Answer my point directly, performing well at home is the expectation. Yes or No?

Keep your home stats. No one cares, other than the only time when Tendulkar failed to score his 100th 100 at home in a winning cause.

India are not home track bullys, but useless team. Couldn't even win the WC 23 at home, with everything setup, which is why there were was a tsunami of tears because the EXPECTATION was to win at home.

In Tests We drew a series a in Aus, SA and won in England without Shami Bumrah during Sachin Dravid era.. don’t say things just for sake of it.

Anomalies.

India were poor in away tours before Bumrah era. I remember India lost 0-8 once.

Test series are not anomalies get that clear first or go watch cricket again, 8-0 is when we were going through transition.

Pakistan has even worse record against Aus because anomalies cannot happen.

No matter how you want to spin it, India were largely a home track bully before Bumrah era. I witnessed it myself.

Anomalies can happen in Test too.

Anomalies can happen in “a” Test not in a test series.

Spin what ,India during 2007-2011 was an excellent Test team.

You are the so called spinner here.

Are you subtly trying to underplay your pathetic and shameful record in Australia by discounting their home wins?

Yes since that that we were bad.

In your logic Pakistan is the worst test team since 2000 as they cannot even a test in Aus, say it bro.
1998. Since then Pakistan has lost every single Test match they have played in Australia.

You want to rewrite cricket history and whitewash India's pre-Bumrah era failures.

Just accept India were a home track bully before Bumrah and Shami.

Many posters weren't even born when last Pakistan won a test in Aus..
@sweep_shot as he said started watching cricket in 96-97 has seen grand total of 1 Pak win in Aus in his life time.

Why would I accept that when we have series wins in England and drawn series in SA and Aus?

India won in 2007 in England when was the last time Aus won a series in England?

We won series in Pakistan, West Indies, Lanka, NZ , England and drew in OZ/SA before Bumrah and Shami too.

Indians used to get crushed in away tours. These are all facts. Yes; they won and drew a few away series but they were largely a home track bully.

They may return to being a home track bully again once Bumrah retires.

2002 drawn series England , 2003 drawn series Australia . 2007 series win England , 2009 series win NZ, 2010-11 drawn series SA.

Before 2002, we were HTB. After that, not so.

2004 ,2-1 series win in Pakistan.. he refuses to see the data in front of him lol

Also, series wins in West Indies. Teams like ENG and PAK struggle to win there

India lost 1-2 in West Indies in 2002. Not sure which series win you are talking about. Are you talking about post-2010? Windies declined by then.

2006.. Clearly you never watched Indian series, atleast should had seen the score.

You can cherry pick stats. You can twist stats. But, overall, India were a home track bully before 2018.

Only teams which were not home track bullies were Australia and South Africa. Aussies won everywhere.

2006,2011,2016,2019,2023.

West Indies declined but apart from SA and OZ who wins consistently there? How many series have ENG, PAK win there ? Any idea?

Also you said India got thrashed. 2-1 loss is thrashing ?

Lmao you have been exposed as you didn’t remember any of India’s away Test series wins from 2002-2010, now run along..
Cherry picking it seems lol
