I think it's worth sticking with the current combination for now.

1. Fakhar Zaman
2. Babar Azam
3. Hussain Talat
World class top 3.
Depends on situation. I believe Faheem Ashraf should Bat at 3 as nightwatchman otherwise I go for Talat.
Fakhar Zaman should keep opening. As we saw in NZ, Babar and Sarfraz are not great hitters so better to have them at 4 or 5, otherwise they will slow down the innings. I would go with Talat if the choice was between Malik and Talat. Because Hussain Talat is young and a better bowler.
A very strange choice. If they are not good hitters how will they accelerate in the final overs? Having a player like Babar at the top of the order is good as he will rotate the strike and give more opportunities to the stroke players. Also it will give an opportunity for Babar himself to get some boundaries in the first 6 overs with the fielders in. Batting in the later overs mean that he has to go from the first ball, it might be the difference between 180 and 200+.
Talat. Thought he'd move up gradually, but looks pretty assured at the crease already. Play him at three in T20s, and 4 in ODIs. In ODIs, let Sarfraz have back the no.5 position where he's had his best success, and stick Malik down at 6.
This set up is ok till Sharjeel is back. Sharjeel and Fakhir are the opening pair Pakistan need, a pair that world could fear...You need six hitters and players who can take the power game to the opposition...Sharjeel and Fakir at top, Asif and Faheem at bottom, in between Babar and Talat to consolidate. We need to go for combination that takes us to 330+ every game on phatta tracks(which one will get in ICC tournaments)...
Sarfraz is not a modern player, nor has power in his game, we need to look beyond him...He messes up the batting lineup, like Azhar its better for him and Pakistan to stick to test only. We need a Captain who atlas is in the team on merit![]()
I wouldn’t mind Talat at 6 in ODIs too considering Haris is a must in the Top 4 in ODIs
I think it’s highly unlikely Sharjeel will ever play for Pakistan again.
Also Sarfraz is the best tactician in Pakistan so he stays. As far as his batting goes, he does alright when he is batting at 4, the problem is when he bats at 6, and tries to hit from the get-go. He isn’t suited for that role so he shouldn’t be playing ther. At 4 he did well in the NZ T20’s and also in the 1st T20 vs West Indies

what has Talat even done ? He gets all bent out of shape when trying to hit down the ground or hit in general.
I do not understand the hype around him as he is also a trundler. The only good thing maybe that is left handed and young.
Harris Sohail is 10 times the player

Im liking the current top three it is the right mix of fire and ice. Fakhar to bring the heat, Babar and Talat to knock it around and find the odd boundary, plus Talat has that extra gear to his game.
Then we have old stalwarts in Sarfaraz and Malik. If the situation is good we can promote Asif to number fourth and really turn the screw.
Should this top 3 also be persisted in ODI’s or should BAbar stick to no. 3
I say play the same 11 in ODIs as well. Yes Nawaz at 8 is bit of an anomaly, but he is definitely a good bowler who can maintain a very miserly economy and an excellent fielder and his batting may come in handy when we are 50-5 which as Pakistani fans we know is always around the corner. It may mean that Junaid/Shinwari have to sit out. Asif will be asked to play in T20 mode even in ODIs, since he is not an ODI player. If it comes off Pakistan will even start winning from impossible positions, if it doesn't then we will have Shadab/Fahim/Nawaz/Hasan after him all of whom are competent batsman.

Shoaib Malik should be thinking of retiring!
We need our most technically correct batsman at 3 - has to be Babar.
After 2019. Hopefully he retires on really high note. If he hits the runs to Pakistan WC victory. It will be awesome.

Fakhar Zaman has to open - just leaves Babar Azam
Isn't Babar already batting at number 3 for Pakistan in T20Is?
