Why are Pakistanis upset about dominating Test matches at home recently?

Am not sure anymore, how many of these debates are arguing for the sake of arguing, surely people can’t be that silly that they rather be white washed on flat pitches then drawn series / have more of a shot at winning at home
There is no need for an either or. Both strategies are equally dumb.

In the long run, the phattas are better than the Bangla Mirpur pitches during the recent Windies series.

Making pitches to suit your team’s strength is totally fair. However these pitches are not Pakistan’s strength: they need to figure out what their strength is.

England was caught off guard but next time SENA teams will come better prepared.

Don’t think the Pak spinners are better than Lyon, Santner etc. so lottery pitches will be a batting shoot out and more often than not on these pitches Pak will come short.

Pak’s strength is dry and slow pitches for reverse swing and where their batsmen can play well.

What are you talking about? You want to go through some developmental phase during a WTC cycle where every loss is criticised as if it’s a life and death situation.

People want results, they want victories! Pakistan cannot afford to just develop a poor side filled with under par Test cricketers constantly losing test matches at home!

Well unsurprisingly this is one of the stupidest comments in the discussion.

“We have to find our strength having lost so many Test matches at home in the past 3 years”

“Aah we found our strength, it’s spin wickets, we win 3 games in a row at home, comfortably”

What else are we supposed to figure out how having been embarrassed year after year at home???

Yes we need to go through development phases.

Short term solutions one after the other have almost killed our cricket. This strategy will send it to its grave.

The aam Pakistani doesn't care too much about test matches anymore anyway. I'm happy with an under par test side that at least gives players space for development and for us to focus on LOI properly.

This is not Zimbabwe, West Indies, Sri Lanka cricket where your fans and journos have patience to go through those phases! How is that so hard to understand?

Why don’t you just take the example of a guy here who constantly counts the W/L ratio of Shan Masood as captain to remind us how he is doing. You like his posts and he likes yours. You people think Pakistan is run professionally the way we want it to. Here is a reality check, IT ISNT!!

Best of luck trying to give some guy a free run to lose as much as he likes and watching the win percentage dwindle around 25% whilst Australia and India hover around the 70% mark. Watch how the fans and journos destroy the lives of those players who are trying to develop themselves as Test cricketers. Let’s see how long that lasts!

Like is not an endorsement of all views. My opinions are my own. I don't read too much into the WL for Shan as he has been dealt a crap hand with his big guns chickening out or not being able to perform. He has tried to steer a sinking ship honourably.

Fans and journalists have watched their cricket decimated. No victories in our lifetime in Australia, phainta after phainta overseas. PCB destroying First Class cricket. Losses to minnows. The list goes on.

If they have the patience for all the above they can sit tight for a bit while our test cricket gets back on track. If the strategy is to become Bangladesh to keep you and some journalists happy then sorry I can't be onboard with it.

Lottery pitches are not strength. Even someone with minimum understanding of cricket would know that Pak is a better test team than WI. Giving those pitches just neutralized both teams. Whenever India or Pak won overseas, many times they were extremely bowling friendly pitches which neutralized the home advantage. On a sporting pitch that supports all gameplay like MCG etc is usually when Ind-Pak get owned in SENA

Ohhh put a sock in it!

What’s the proof to this claim??? WI won a Test match in Australia! They have done things Pakistan cannot do for the next two decades with this squad! They have seamers that have close to 300 Test wickets, and upcoming seamers of that class! They have a much improved spin department than what they had 2 decades ago with their Test stalwarts in the side (Lara, Chanderpaul, Sarwan Gayle)! It’s their Batting that isn’t as good but then what do you do? Allow them a sniff to settle in and cash in against the medium trundlers of Pakistan once the ball loses its shine and batting becomes easy on our roads??
