Something I've noticed that never gets talked about, is that Pakistan is incapable of planning for any rare but possible events that can happen in cricket.
2007 Icc world cup Group stage India vs Pakistan.
Match ends in a tie and at the time to determine wins in such a situation we had Bowl outs. India humilated pakistan dueing the bowl out session where not a single pakistani bowler was able to aim accurately at the stumps?
England vs Pakistan 2015 uae game
England annihilated Pakistan in a super over.
Zimbabwe vs Pakistan 2020-2021
Pakistan only scored 2 runs in a super over and failed misreably
Usa vs Pakistan 2024
Pakistan conceded 19 runs in a super over and failed to reach the target.
The only super over i can think of that Pakistan ever won vs against Australia in 2012.
Similarly Pakistan has usually lost most drs games as well. Only pak vs SA 2022 and Pak vs sa in ct 2017 went in Pak's favour as Sa is the only team that plays a drs situation worse then Pakistan.
In terms of RR, Pakistan is poor at planning and managing it.
In both 2019 and 2023 wc Pakistan failed to qualify for the semi's solely due to the fact that they were behind in RR and had to achieve ridiculous milestones to clear it, Such as scoring 600 against NZ in 2019 and scoring 329 In 7 overs againat England in 2023.
Planning for drs + shortened games, RR, and Super overs are standard norms in international cricket.
So why is Pakistan so poor at it?
