Why is Sohail Khan’s 2015 World Cup fifer not as revered as Wahab Riaz’s?

Wahab's came in a world cup semi-final while Sohail Khan got it in a group game, which is relatively less important.

Remember the hype around the Mohali Semi Finals match. Don't think any other Cricket match comes close to the hype and anticipation that was building towards that battle so performing in that match will certainly be rates higher.

Wahab Riaz came and changed the whole match. He picked most important wickets of sehwag yuvraj dhoni and virat. He had so much impact on that game otherwise score would have been more than 300.

It was a semifinal. Pakistan beat West Indies in quarterfinal whereas India beat Aus in Quarterfinal. After beating Pakistan, India went on to play final against SriLanka.

Racism?. Appears if your name is Khan the criticism is magnified. Also, Junaid was a fantastic bowler discarded very quickly

Sohail's five fer came in a scenario where there were literally no expectations from Pakistan (2015 wc team is probably the weakest one we've fielded in a wc) and he got wickets when it had already been too late. And even though we were able to restrict them to 300, it was still already being believed was too high a total to be chased from that team which was quite true.

Wahab took the wickets upfront. Sohail took the wickets when the total was already 250 plus or something.

No. Junaid Khan's treatment has more to do with selectors' and 2 specific coaches(Mickey and Waqar) bias against him. Let's not associate all Khan's or Pathans with it. Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, Imran Khan, Misbah, Majid Khan, Mohsin Khan are some of the more revered names in Pak cricket.

Wahab Riaz is a much more exciting and well-known bowler than Sohail Khan. That probably is the reason.

Surprised to not see this but could just be that I missed it.

- Modes of dismissal / nature of the delivery,
- the shots being played by the batsmen,
- the overall ease / lack of it with which batsmen played the two bowlers (including their deliveries which did not get wickets)
- the timing of those wickets
- (relative) stature of the batsmen they got out (at that point in time)

Why should it be the same as Wahab's fiver?

In terms of the match context etc, there is no comparison at all.
