Zimbabwe was never not a minnow. They were always a crap side that had at best one or 2 purple patch moments.I cant stop laughing..according to India, zimbabwe was not a minnow loooll
These guys will go to any extent to justify their lunacy.Zimbabwe was never not a minnow. They were always a crap side that had at best one or 2 purple patch moments.
Their old side is > their current era side but its irrelevant.
People need to stop underestimating root and smith. Ironically their favourite team to bash has been India lol. Current India > Any era Zimbabwe.
Root and Smith have hardly played vs Zimbabwe, if they did their avg would be 60+ by now. Infact root and smith have hardly played vs Minnows to begin with.
It's because @Narayana59 exposed 3 key stats. These guys will go to any extent to justify their lunacy.
I still cant stop laughing that indians see Zimbabwe amongst a top cricket nation.
When it comes to discussing Pakistani bowlers taking wickets in that era then they will say Zimbabwe was a minnow again. These guys will go to any extent to justify their lunacy.

Chalo jee zimbabwe was not a minnow for india
So that means they were not a minnow. Zimbabwe beat Australia in wt20 2007, does that mean they were not minnow in 2007
He scored one at WACA on a difficult pitch.Hold up, did someone actually claim that Tendulkar scored a century at Perth and WACA?
Perth Stadium opened up in 2018 so did he somehow time travel and score a century there?
@Devadwal has time travelled so much, our timeline has apparently changed.Hold up, did someone actually claim that Tendulkar scored a century at Perth and WACA?

I think he will as well. 2021 Root =/= 2025 Root.Root will make runs, I have the feeling
How many matches did Joe Root manage with 55+ average?2 more series to go,
This will be way more impressive than Sachin considering the fact that Steve Smith is maintaining these numbers without zimbabwe and Bangladesh.
Sachin without zimbabwe and Bangladesh managed to maintain 55+ AVG for only 49/200 matches .

So why best test players failed/or not that successful in inferior cricket format(s)? It should be easy to succeed there since it's inferior..ODIs do not matter. That is inferior cricket.
wood, rabada, and a few others have gotten him out a few times too, given how much hes played a few cheap dismissals against certain bowlers doesnt really mean much tbh. you could find bowlers like that for every player. if u get 10+ dismissals against someone like broad did with warner, or starc with stokes, then u can say someone has someones number.Greatest test batsman of this era.
Bumrah and Siraj have his number though. Averages 30ish in matches where Bumrah played.
agreedI think Root is the 2nd best of all time.
Smith is 3rd I guess.![]()
agreed
even Kane Williamson is better compared to Smith... his technique is flawless!
agreed.... smith scores ugly runs due to his unusual technique but the thing that matters is runs and Smith has that... Kane might look classy but he is not close to smith here.In terms of technique, Williamson is better than Smith. That's right.
But, Smith has achieved more than Williamson.

Smith can go down if he continues like this for a couple of years.Bradman is no.1.
If we are talking purely test cricket, it will be Smith at 2.
If we are talking all formats, Tendulkar will be no.2.
For Asian fans, all formats usually matter while for SENA fans, test cricket mostly matters.
Surely, he has great hand eye coordination. Speaking of age, he is still doing very well in the ongoing Ashes. BTW, he is 36 which is not very old for a batter.Yeah. Smith had a very good hand eye coordination which made up for his horrible techniques.
Anyway, Smith is no longer as effective as before. Age is catching up perhaps.
