Following the deepening defence cooperation between India and US, Pakistan has conveyed its strong reservations to the US and has stated the development as a direct threat to the country's security interests.

The US was informed through diplomatic channels that the transfer of advanced military hardware to India without taking into account Pakistan's legitimate concerns would undermine the strategic stability and conventional balance in the South Asian region, according to official source The Express Tribune reported.

According to the sources familiar with the development, Islamabad told Washington that acquisitions of the technologies would invigorate India, therefore putting the country's security interests in jeopardy.

Pakistan hinted that it will be left with no other option but to go for counter measures in case of such a cooperation between India and the US which will raise concerns about its national security.

The recent state visit of Prime Minister Modi to the US concluded in various agreements between the two countries in sectors like defence, trade among others.

General Electric and India's state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will make in India advanced fighter jet engines for the country's indigenous light combat aircraft.

The US also agreed to set up a facility in India to produce battle-tested armed drones.

As for India, Russia remained the major supplier of arms to India with 65 percent share for several years. With US' defence deals with India, it has already raised alarm bells in Pakistan, with the indication that the US is not only willing to sell arms to India but is not averse to the idea of transferring technology.

The US arms sale and transfer of technologies to India may be aimed at China but the development will certainly upset the military balance in South Asia, The Express Tribune reported.

THey can not do anything, they have hgiven country in the hands of crooks. empty words do not make any difference. even in Pakistan nobody take them seriusly anymore. You could see twitter whenever they do press release now.

And why would any sane Indian want to capture land from Pakistan or any other country? Our GDP per capita is around $2200. I would rather watch that soar to $10,000 before I close my eyes permanently (I'm 36), instead of indulging in unrealistic fantasies.

Pakistan really needs to get rid of their fear that India is looking to invade them. The very idea is foolish, and unrealistic.

Another excuse for the military industrial complex to keep things chugging and increase defence spending while everyone else starves.

India will most definitely be a $10K per-capita economy in next 15 to 20 years, well before you are retired.

Pakistan is totally irrelevant. The US knows it can fearlessly order Pakistan around to do its bidding and then ignore it. With the exit from Afghanistan, the US has no use for Pakistan now. Pakistan has clearly burnt its bridges with the US by going the China route. Successful nations balance all of their equations with all power brokers without being in a single camp.

Really? It crossed the IB only 4 years ago and that without any concrete proof.

Don't think it's necessarily Pakistan choosing the China camp. It's perhaps about circling China or creating counter weight. Plus investing or partnering fastest growing large economy. Pakistan have tried their best to keep Americans interested. But their interest alligns with India for the moment.

They dont feel threatened.
Are you in Pakistan?
Do you even know how people think about India?

Maybe you should stop your obsession with Pakistan. If the situation is so bad, why worry.

No matter who is in power and how the economy is operating. Foreign policy is a separate topic.

When Pakistan had ties with USA, India use to show its reservation. So its quite hilarious how the Indian posters (as usual) whining that why should Pakistan have issue with the Ind-US relation. Either of the country's relation interms of defence and weapon trade affects one another. India used to cry to deaf ears about the F16 and the American funding we used for Nuclear Bombs and Uranium programs.

Pakistan has correctly conveyed its concerns here.

Umm no its not.

In the past when USA was involved in having peace with China, they relied on Pakistan for it.

Pakistan exists in the middle or three contries that have conflict with USA. This includes, Iran, Afghanistan, and China. Thus, Pakistan's regional existence and its relations matter alot. Pakistan could be the bridge if USA decides to talk with these nations.

Imran burnt bridges, but the establishment did not. USA does not have China from progressing, they just want to slow down that progress.

Afghanistan has moved out of Pakistan's sphere of influence.

Iran was never anywhere close to Pakistan diplomatically since it became an Islamic republic. Pakistan has no influence there.

US views China as a long term enemy. So does the West. And if they decide to engage China they won't need any bridge, just like they don't need one for Russia.

Pakistan's significance was only because of Afghanistan. First to stop the soviets and then to stop the Taliban.

Pakistan isn't a major economy either. Even if US wants to use Pakistan against China, and pakistan agreed. US will have to spend billions of dollars and transfer technology as well. While with India they can earn billions and sell technology.

Since USA has abandoned Afghanistan and is now concentrating on Russia and China, Pakistan isn't useful.

Without proof the UN and many countries applied sanctions.

Who knows, who cares? Dude was saying India will never attack Pakistan. With a fascist and extremist govt. in place for a decade, India has been baying for blood.

It has become emboldened and belligerent and will attack at the slightest opportunity. May Allah (swt) protect the nation of Pakistan and its people.

Who cares who you think is fascist and extremist? Since you don't think UN or many other countries sanctioning pakistani people for terrorism is a big deal.

India will retaliate to any provocation. If any pakistani organisation "State or Non State" is involved in bloodshed of Indians, there will be retaliation.

Why is that Pakistan cannot help but provoke India?

Pakistan will take military countermeasures to billions of dollars of equipment that India buys.

Pakistan will also beg the world for billions in the name of floods and human rights etc.

Why should a country and government that can spend billions on military be given billions in bailouts?

I'm talking about a full fledged war trying to capture PoK. That will never happen irrespective of what any minister in India keeps parroting.
