World Championship of Legends (WCL) returns for a second summer.

It's lovely to see the Indian legends will NOT Boycott this legends match and arent bringning sport into politics.

I've got tickets to this match and hope to be meeting many Indians with my Kashmir T-shirt.

I hope Indian cricketers who are old legends arent abused for shaking hands and playing Pak.

Anyone going to this match?

====
India’s Yuvraj Singh, Pakistan allrounder Shahid Afridi, former South Africa captain Jacques Kallis, Aussie speed king Brett Lee, and West Indies’ great entertainer Chris Gayle were just some of the players on show.

The England side featured Kevin Pietersen and Warwickshire legend Ian Bell who recorded the highest average (76.67) in the tournament with 230 runs from five innings.

Organisers are yet to reveal the player line-up for this year’s competition – which runs from 18 July to 2 August – but they’ve promised even more star names in 2025.

Harshit Tomar, Founder and CEO of the World Championship of Legends, said: “The competition will be bigger and better. It’ll feature even more marquee players, making the teams stronger and the matches more intense and exciting.

“From the opening clash to the grand finale, each match promises to be a journey into the golden era of cricket. Rivalries will be reignited, stories will be retold, and history will be made.”

Edgbaston will stage the tournament’s first four group games (Fri 18 to Sun 20 July) before returning for the semi finals on 31 July and grand final on Saturday 2 August.

Best league. Not because the quality of cricket is good but because its the only league where

A) Not trolls exist
B) no competiton exists
C) No nonsense hooligan behaviour on the field.

Just a casual fun game of cricket between india and Pakistan where people dont rip each other to shreds.

I attended the event last year, very well organised, good banter and Edgbaston is the best neutral ground to play in the UK for foreign teams.

Its local ground with a Sunday match worth going again and a burger after .

It maybe a little spicy with some drunk indian fans but it provides extra entertainment.

Indian government cant stop these ex players so I'm sure it will go ahead.

Won't be surprised if this gets called off due to the current climate or the indians will get abused by their own for playing Pak.

The players are ok, their fans have all been brain washed. You may find one or two modi bakhts, but if they get too brave, the Alum elders are not too far away.

I would avoid the food at the ground if you’re able to and just go ladypool road or somewhere near there after. I got the fish and chips before which were average, can’t recall what else they had. It would have been better if the Halal Food festival was arranged on the day of this match, it happened at Edgbaston a few weeks ago.

There will be a few of us catching up so I dont think we will be too concerned with people eating salads.

I usually walk up to GDK after and rarely buy food in the ground, the chips are ok but the rest isnt anything special.

Yes. It is cricket being cricket.

No overcommercialization. No petty politics. Just pure cricket.

This was how cricket was like before BCCI took over ICC.

if this match can happen, international match should also go on. If anyone is going to tell me players like Sachin, Wasim, Ganguly, Waqar, etc are lesser players than the current lot ... that just nonsense.

I doubt we will see either of them in this league

😂😂

If anyone can, it was gonna be this guy

:kp

I am surprised they are going ahead with this. Players will face huge backlash

Why? They are not active or paid by bcci.

I

Maybe they found a loophole that way.

But in general; this is not a good time to have such engagement. I’m not against it. But this is bit soon.

Its the perfect time. The UK is not like the sub-contintent, here most get on very well. Why should us in the UK have worry about what the RSS does in some 3rd world nation?

I will have access to the hospitality and will speak to former Indian greats. They havent hinted of not playing atm.

One moment there is war and another moment people are playing sports. That’s not cool for me.

By all means play as much sport as you can but improve the relationship first. Without that, there shouldn’t be any sports between both nations.

To each their own but I personally do not support the idea of sports between non friendly nationw

Thankfully this is personal thinking otherwise there would have been no cricket or sport being played anymore.

So 1 month ago, soldiers were fighting a war and people living in bordering states were unsure if they will get out of this alive and a month later you would have ex cricketers doing yaari dosti pyar mohobbat on the cricket field. It cannot get more artificial and insensitive than that.

I support cricket with a passion and i support people to people relationships.
But there's a time for everything.
People who have had a loss of life in family don't indulge in band baaja for a while out of respect. Its basic decency and humanity.

I have seen your humanitarian views in TPS thread so let's just keep our talk relevant to cricket...

These guys are no longer on the payroll of BCCI and PCB.. They are normal human beings and can play whatever sport they want and with whoever they want.

Legally they can.
But they must expect a backlash for being disrespectful to the soldiers and bordering cities people of the country.

TALK ABOUT CRICKET HERE AND KEEP YOUR WARMONGERING AGENDA OUT OF THIS THREAD NOW

A good match , especially for Pakistan. Some of these Pakistani "legends" can make a case to comeback to the national team.

Going by your own logic shouldn’t you have deactivated your account by now? But here you’re posting and having fun on a Pakistani cricket forum everyday.

Pakistan's squad for the upcoming event, looks solid

Didn't Shikhar Dhawan make a statement about Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack? :inti

I am 100% sure this game will not happen. And if it does, Indian players participating in it will face massive backlash at home and rightly so. How can they play cricket where like of Shahid Afridi is in opposition team after the kind of comments they have made against India? Yusuf Pathan is now a MLA in Bengal...at least he should have some shame.

You mean Pak will get a walk over....

LOL likes of Shahid Afridi could never perform against India when it mattered the most in his career. Now if he wants a walk over in a sham league, so be it.

Btw, what does legends league even means? Likes of Asif Ali, Sharjeel Khan and Shoaib Maqsood are now legends? Hahaha

:rp

Its just for fun stuff...and I believe many indians will play...of course barring BJP future ticket aspirants.

Were you born after 2005?

I would be surprised if well known ex Indian cricketers would take the risk of participating in this farcical match.

Pakistan should win.
You need to put some more assessment bro on pre match threads. This is not your 'Make a wish' thread. Why do you think Pakistan will win, some technical analysis and your rational behind making such assessment will help.

:kp

Indian old cricketers - We are just doing it for fun

BCCI - Party over grandpa

Are you 100% sure still? :kp :inti

Bro Grandpa not holding back, time is running out for Brock ⏳
Is this game happening? What is the official news? If true, that will be a shame. You dont play sports with a country whose COAS openly says Hindus are different and send terrorists next day to kill Hindu tourists. What will likes of Yuvaraj, Sehwag, Bhajji etc will gain by playing bunch of overrated and retired Pak cricketers? They have owned them enough in their playing days anyday.

Plz don't bring politics here....and Indian Grandpas are doing exactly the same

If this match gets called off after backlash, but then India and Pakistan are in the same T20 WC group next year, it will be the height of hypocrisy

League India run kar raha hai to phir yei pagli log boycott ky kar rahei hain.

Its your league you num tum tums.

A British Citizen is boycotting a Pakistan vs India game in England? :rosco
Its in England? LOL. There is so less hype, that I only read about this tournament here. Where are they playing? In Bradford? ROFL

As a British citizen, it disgusts me TBH. I am sure crowd will boo these grandpa's.

@Rana look bro, after Sharjeel another one of your favourites Asif Ali has made it into the Pakistani team ahead of Babar and Rizwan :yk

It is a nice match to watch in person for the party atmosphere and day out.

But last time people on PP were taking it quite seriously, each to their own but I couldn't understand it

GUYS, PLEASE STAY ON TOPIC... TALK ABOUT THE GAME INSTEAD OF TALKING IRRELEAVNT STUFF
