Given the weather for Melbourne looks quite bad on match day and reserve day, if it came to a shared trophy would you be happy with that as an end to the tournament

Depends who we face.

If it's against India, I don't fancy us beating them so I'd rather share it with them.

As for England, I feel our team will be more calm and relaxed. There will be more Pakistan fans for this encounter so I expect that to help us as well.

Nope. Their are only 8 major countries that play cricket. Anything short of a victory is a failure.

Shared trophy hope is from the weak hearts who can’t take the pressure. I have been praying for Pak Vs Ind Final to settle the fortunate getaway of Ind earlier in the tournament.

Australian fans will also back Pakistan against England (as they did in 92). I have a feeling it is going to be Pak vs Eng. England is the toughest side in this tournament.

Shared Trophy?

T20 World Cup: What do ICC rules say if both semi-final & final get washed out?

During the qualifiers and Super 12 matches, there was no reserve day if the match contest was interrupted by rain resulting in both teams getting one point each.

According to ICC rules, the semi-finals and final shall have a reserve day allocated if the match on the given date is interrupted by rain.

If it kept raining on reserve day as well and play couldn’t happen, the team that finishes their respective group on top of the points table will automatically qualify for the final on November 13.

In case of rain during the semifinals or final, a minimum of 10 overs should be bowled to get a result.

If it rains on both days, then both teams will share the title. Both teams will end up as joint winners of the T20 World Cup 2022

Shared trophy... unimaginable for me. What a sad end that would be for a tournament that has been one of the most thrilling as a Pakistani cricket fan!

The weather seems better on the Monday.

Anyway, I would be surprised if we don’t get a total of 20 overs (approx) across both days, that’s all we need to get a result

I would be satisfied becouse thiers nothing you can do with the weather

Hopefully not but PAK was going out in the group stage. This is way better than that.

If say the teams will only five overs each, with the first one declaring, should there be small windows, isn't that a possibility

If it comes down to sharing, can share with England but not india

I actually wouldn't mind.

It would be a blow to the Modi government that both countries were on a platform where they were considered equal. Their entire motive is convincing the public the total opposite.

The weather in Melbourne has not been conducive to cricket at all. Just shift the final to Sydney.

No I want to see the final played and us to win it! To have the final rained off is awful. Hopefully the forecast changes for mcg as it did when Pak v india played originally!

No..

Would rather be just finalists and lose the final then sharing the trophy with someone else..

fine if both days rained out, but then both boards agree to a best of 3 series sometime in next 3-4 months to decide the true champion

rules have changed, minimum overs for it to be full game its 10 overs each side

Global ICC trophies

2017 was not a World cup. Global ICC trophies is not really a single category, Pakistan has also Won the Nehru Cup in 89 it had six teams Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, England, Australia and the West Indies.
ICC Mace For being the top Test side is also a Global ICC trophy that Pakistan once had. But Australia and India had it for many years. but then there will be complete confusion, who won how many trophies.

Best to keep formats separate, we have so far 1 Odi World cup and 1 T20 World Cup. or 2 limited overs World Cups. Even though Odi World Cup is worth far more than a T20 world cup. Champions trophy is no where near that.
ICC global trophies is no Category.

England should have shared that WC19 trophy with New Zealand. The only trophy that was ever worth sharing but NZ were robbed in day light.

2002 Champions Trophy was shared between India and Sri Lanka.

If rain spoils things, sharing is the only option. You don't have any other option.

Besides, sharing means you still get to win it. It counts as a full winner.

Heck No!! Either we lose today or on Sunday and return home empty handed or we win it all!!

It would be very anti climactic

Assuming india win, this has been a fantastic year for Indo Pak cricket matches. Every match between the two teams has gone down to the wire. It would be sad to not see another one, we don’t know when the teams are going to play on such equal footing again after a LONG time. 2017 CT was the last time before last year’s 2021 WC where we were competitive Vs them.

England Vs Pakistan will also be good. England and Pakistan have a mini rivalry equal to what Australia and India have.

Without a proper final, it won't feel like a tournament.

After watching this england brutalism I am very happy with shared trophy now :narine:inti

Sorry you're wrong Champions trophy is a global ICC trophy just like the WC.

It would be a very disappointing end and frankly i would rather lose.

Seems like most likely outcome. It is raining cats and dogs in Melbourne right now and it is supposed to stay that way until Monday.

At this point, it would be an absolute miracle if we have a proper result.

Is there a link to this? As in the weather report because all others showing cloudy at the moment?

I don't mind sharing the WC.

Pakistan and England, the 2 nations I love the most and have an affiliation with; birth and roots.

A shared win is a win for dual Pak/UK nationals!

:)

Saw on Twitter, no verified source though but I don’t see why a few people would lie about it.

Reminds of the Citizen Khan scene. Hilarious.

Shared trophies aren't taken seriously and they don't count.

If rain washes off the final, most people including me will consider this tournament abandoned.

Absolutely not!

It would be a farce and even more ridicule for cricket as a sport.

They should just give it to us in that case since we won back in 92! Lol

no, I would not be satisfied with a joint winner.

I would rather be runners up than a joint winners.

However, given that there's a reserve day and if it still doesn't work out, that's the only option I guess.

Lol. Have to hand it to you.

Complete lack of shame with your predictions and regular extreme criticisms of the Pak team.

You just don't care about what you say. Good way to live. Even though you're incredibly wrong, the next day you just move on like you never said anything.

Lol, no self-correction and no shame, as if you never said anything to begin with. Completely hilarious individual. No darns given.

Their has been steady rain happening in Melbourne. It is expected to get much worse throughout the day with flood warnings in place.

The awarding of a shared trophy would be a real pity, but maybe it’s where this one is likely to go.

You need a winner of a tournament comon, this is why people get annoyed with cricket. They need to build stadiums with roofs.

Personally I would rather we play a game of cricket, the best team wins. I would rather have a match and lose then not play at all and be joint winners.

There’s a reason most people are praying this match goes ahead. Hardly anyone wants to be awarded joint winners without a chance to win it all.

Agreed. Otherwise it’ll be a massive what if. Point of a WC is to find out who is the best amongst them. Not who’s co champion lol

No not at all. I would much rather lose then share the trophy.

People aren't understanding lol. You are still world champion. In 10 or 15 years no one will remember it's another trophy that's what matters.

Sharing a trophy is ridiculous in extreme scenario bowlouts should be used or even best of three coin flips

Would be a huge anti-climax if it was shared.

Weather seems ok at the moment though.
