Not looking that great for India at the moment but a good partnership could change things...

Yes this is his kind of stage. Would have come in, hit a quick 100 and cat amongst pigeons situation

One thing though, I'm not really disappointed with how my team has done so far. And that's simply because I never expected anything from my team in the first place. I was such a big fan of Kohli, but I have to say with a heavy heart that he needs to quit after this year's World Cup. When he was in his prime, it looked like he will scored more than 120 international centuries. Look where he is now.

I think at the Oval, even when the weather and pitch is favourable for bowlers, if you can get through the morning session as a batter, you can really cash in. It was a good toss for Australia to lose.

India will miss Pant especially, made for these scenarios.

Surprised Rahane and Pujara are still playing, maybe their final Test.

If these two get through the morning, they can do well after lunch

Match will end today. I'll be surprise if India managed to take this game to 4th day.

Rain predicted for next 2 days. Weather warning has been issued in London for heavy rain and thunderstorm over the weekend.

India should simply see off today and may escape with a draw (and mace).

Australia on the other side, would love to wrap it up today by following on India.

There wont be any rain, if there is, it will be short lived during the heatwave this weekend

Indians should just get it over and done with rather than prolong their agony and live off the faint hope of rain saving them.

This match looks 99% done barring a miracle.

4 wickets left and India are 300 runs behind.

Rahane and Thakur left and Yadav in next.

Incredible.

Can't even hope for a draw. 6 day game and all that.

This was the wrong time for the Indians to face Australia.

If they had faced them 2020 or 2021 they would have beaten those Aussie teams.

Australian cricket is on the up while this Indian team's cycle is over.

I don’t know how bothered the Australians are, especially before an Ashes. This is the best possible prep for them

Ashes should be great. Australia and England are the two best teams in the world.

Can go either way but I would give England the edge atm.

Bharat is Ajay Ratra level cricketer.

Don't know how come he has already played 5 tests for us.

Damn you MSK Prasad!

There is hardly anyone worthy to be playing test cricket in this Indian test team except for Siraj.

Shami has always been crap in England and this test has only reinforced that.

And on top of that we drop world no.1 bowler, Ashwin.

Well done Dravid & Rohit.

Had Australia not forfeited points in the last WTC they would have played NZ and beaten them convincingly, timing is everything.

Cummins is unplayable, such a sight to watch.

Looks like Rahane has given a fresh lease of life to his test career. Not that it takes much to do that in Indian cricket these days.

Score some runs and you're good for another year or so.

Kohli, Rohit, Pujara, Rahul have all benefitted from this.

Shot of the match by Rahane. Super sixer to Cummins. Washington Sundar ki yaad aa gayi 👌

Brilliant fightback by Rahane and Shardul.

Need to keep on going and get the lead down to 150 - Australia will then come under pressure.

Both Jadeja and Thakur have contributed and proved to be a successful choice for a place in this Indian team in this condition.

Ashwin fans can't make tall claims for his spot in place of these two now.

100 partnership up between these 2, hoping for another 100 being scored for this wicket.

If Rahane manage to get 100 here, that will be his joint best along with Lord's classic 100.m

Credit to India, they're hanging in there when other teams would already be following on.

Still 209 runs behind, India still aren't in game. With new ball, Australia will get remaining wickets easily.

Can we score another 50 runs? I don't think so

Last night, if someone had told me that India would be 260-6 at lunch today with Rahane being the top scorer, I would have asked him what good stuff he was smoking.

Just tuned in ....good lucky plucky fightback by our guys, good to see the 'locals' out in good voice here some pepper up the aussie noses.
All in all, enjoying the fight but overall Aus are so far ahead, its their game to bomb - i cant see our guys stretching the aussies. bit pessimistic but also realistic. but who knows - hope springs eternal...
Hope whatver happens from here, the cementheads at BCCI see how their elongated elephant never ending saas bahu drama of the IPL is impacting our international committments negatively with our guys unable to produce their optimum...just hoping...

Kishan would have fluked a 50 on this wicket with no swing or seam movement. Bharat is a dud. He is a domestic level keeper.

Thakur proving the importance of all rounders once again in the lower order. He always shines given an opportunity.

That was a great catch from Green.

Well batted Rahane.

Gr8 catch by Green...i guess in a few years he will be one of the all time gully slip legends.
as far as i am concerned, this is the turning point.
Well played jinks. We are gonna get hammered now.
Thanks BCCI, our media which instills our mindset, mentality and total money oriented celeb obsssed psyche and your IPL hype hooplah and focus...Thanks BCCI for the pathetic snake pit excuse of wickets we have when we play at home.....we are set to loose another WTC finals.

BCCI - U S u K.....big time.......from a disgruntled frustrated sad wasted indian fan who believes the BCCI and their money guzzling minions does not represent 1000's of rational indian fans.

A catch for the ages...

That was unplayable from Cummins, Umesh gone.

Good job getting to 300 from ~115/5.

We need to have a stellar 3rd innings though to even hope for a win.

Just for that arrogance shown alone for walking off when Shami had reviewed the decision, the Aussies deserve to lose this game....

Australia are firm favorites here. This lead can easily turn into a 400 lead even if Australia give an average performance with the bat

That was bit of a let down by India batters in the end

Lovely bowling from Siraj. Asked questions with every ball this over.

The highest 4th inns chase at The Oval is 263. That was in 1902. With the uneven bounce we're seeing, anything around or above that region will be very challenging.

IND 296
AUS 469 & 23/1 (11) CRR: 2.09
Day 3: Tea Break - Australia lead by 196 runs

Australia still far away from making this game safe for themselves

Crucial last session coming up now - collapse in this session could turn the game on its head.

Another 100 and India is toast on this surface. Lyon will take a 5 fer if they dont get out to the seamers.
