The Pakistan Super League (PSL 10) is just around the corner, and while the big stars always grab headlines, it’s the emerging young talent that often steals the show!

From explosive batters to fiery bowlers and dynamic all-rounders, this season promises to unveil the next generation of cricket superstars.

Who will be the breakout star? Who will announce themselves on the big stage?

Following are the guys picked in the emerging category for PSL 10:

Quetta Gladiators:
Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Zeeshan

Peshawar Zalmi: Maaz Sadaqat and Ali Raza

Multan Sultans: Shahid Aziz and Ubaid Shah

Islamabad United: Saad Masood and Hunain Shah

Lahore Qalandars: Momin Qamar and Mohammad Azab

Karachi Kings: RiazUllah and Fawad Ali

For me Arafat Minhas. Has great potential and will probably end up being a long term no. 6/7 for Pakistan in LOIs.

Some other mentions in my mind are Mohammad Shehzad, momin qamar.. That guys with Mark wood type action, shahid aziz.

I'm excited for
Hasan Nawaz: Want to see if he can show his dominance on more batting friendly wickets
Monim Qamar: 18 year old emerging left-arm chinaman

Shahzad too has great potential. Has he been picked? Haven't seen the other two so can't comment.

Not much to shout about the old brigade I hope some of the young players bring us some hope for the future looking forward to the start of psl.

The talent that stole the show last year (Usman bhai) couldn't hold the bat properly after that. Thanks, PSL.

Batters: Saim Ayub, Mohammad Haris, Hasan Nawaz Azam Khan, Haider Ali

ARs: Mohammad Shahzad, Arafat Minhas

Bowlers: Akif Javed, Obaid Shah, Ali Raza, Faisal Akram

My XI of youngsters

Hoping for Salman Mirza to show us that he can be a good white ball bowling option.

Last chance saloons for Omair Bin Yousuf. He’s a talented player but isn’t kicking on with the chances he is getting.

Hopefully Muhammad Shahzad gets games in the emerging category and isn’t overwhelmed by the opportunity. We need a tough, mentally strong all rounder coming in.

Hopefully KK don’t mess around with Arafat Minhas, and give him all league games. He is a strong cricketer.

Hassan Nawaz needs to show why he is your man for home conditions, he’s had a tough outing in alien conditions but the potential to be dangerous in these conditions is there for all to see. No excuses.

@Kianig89 a list of players for you to hate because I like them.

Here's my wish list for this year

1. A proper spinner that can bat a bit. I'm not asking them to be a 20 average batter, just enough that they don't look like a deer in front of headlights.

2. A spin/pace all rounder. Not Nawaz Shadab Imad type of all rounder but a proper one. Saad Masood, Arafat Minhas, & Ahmed Danyal I'm looking at you guys to step up.

3. A middle order batter. I don't remember a single good middle order batter post Inzi's retirement.

4. One tall fast bowler who can hit the deck hard for an entire spell. Yes I know variation matters and all but someone who hits back of a length all the time is what I need.

So far, Hassan nawaz from Quetta. Shahid Aziz from multan and fawad ali from karachi have played.
Also Ali raza played for Zalmi

ONly Ali impressed me so far

Minhas also played, but wasn't anything special. Hope he continues to get more games to see if he can slot into the allrounder slot that the national team desperately needs.

he's only 20 but looks like he has good potential

Not much young batting talent to speak of other than Saim. Hassan Nawaz has potential but seems to want to hit everything out of the park.

Pakistan talent young or old has been disappointing in the PSL so far. I don't understand why all our batters develop the same bad habits over time, crouching too much, hoicking only on one side, always moving aimlessly, etc. The difference between Pak batters & overseas batters is like day & light at this point.

I mean these are some partnerships that I saw that were so obvious that you almost feel like switching channels

Malik x Rossow.
Khushdil x Vince.
Finn x Saud.
Billings x anyone from Qalandars.

The int'l batters just seem to hit the ball so much better that at this point it's not even a comparison. I'm so afraid of Saim becoming a leg side bully like everyone else at this point.

It's in the bounce.

Pakistan pitches are the lowest bouncing in the world with almost no variety. And seemingly only 4 stadiums that are used for everything so they tire out further.

Lower bounce forces batters to crouch to access the ball.

And slowness forces him to commit earlier with dominant hand to generate power. That naturally means he learns to favour single side of the pitch.

Solution, as always, is in diversity.

Even the bowlers, for all their pace, don't look particularly great.

The likes of Sam Billings are nowhere near as good as he looked in that innings.

Your statement is true & I agree with it but then I see foreign retired/non intl batters come in & play in Pak conditions & outshine our batters completely.

That becomes so depressing to watch honestly

Mohammad Naeem also played for Lahore Qalandars but he didn't look good enough to be playing at this level yet.

Hitting on single side is fine
Many foreigners do that, there is always one part of the ground where you are comfortable to hit most of the deliveries

Then why india and srilanka keeps producing good batsmen.

It would be fine if every time you hit, you either hit a gap or hit a six like Ross Taylor used to do. It's not fine when you drag down everything & then get out in the process. It becomes easier to block your run scoring shots & this is what is happening with our batters.
