Your Favourite Rahul Dravid Innings?

Eden Gradens 180 odd definitely !

50% for the knock itself and remaining 50 % for the most epic century celebration in the history of Cricket.

Nothing can beat 233 at Adelaide (2003). It was an amazing knock by Rahul Dravid. 180 at Kolkata (2001) would follow next. 148 at Headingley (2002) and two centuries at Kolkata against Pakistan (2005) were brilliant as well.

Shoaib Akhtar was a monster. One of the best in last few years. No shame in getting out to him.

is it just me or is sir_Afridi's posts not visible to anybody else? maybe even the forum realises he is a senile poster or what?

btw, my fav innings of dravid was the 233 vs aus and 270 vs pak.

special mention goes for a 63 ball 92 vs england in an odi!!!! totally smashed em' around. also got india a VERY crucial win by just 10 odd runs.

That 60 ball 90 was such a stunner, must have smoked some good weed that day.

Good choice, a very solid innings. Coupled with the following, Dravid led India to a historic series win in the West Indies - a true match winner:

If anything the conditions here are even harder and yet Dravid looks more fluent than in the first innings. Prepare to be blown away by the shots at 7:28 and 11:25. An incredible player.

NB very sad to see a spritely Runako Morton in these videos. RIP.

The one he played against Srilanka at home, 2 seasons ago may be? or before that. He was struggling for form and that innings was a breath of fresh air, and the best part was he was so fluent throughout and ended up with 177 RUNS IN A SINGLE DAY. Every shot was a beauty and it was such a free flowing innings.Loved it.

Youngies out there gotta know that knock of his against Donald and Pollock in early days when Donald was trying to get under his skin. Top knock

This one. Exhibiting his full range of shots. Shame he didn't do much in RSA apart from that knock.

^Nice! There can't have been many players carry their bat from opener in an English test.

99 at Karachi in 1st odi v Pakistan in jeet lo dil series it was a classy knock and showed that he was just a good an ODI player as test. The fact he got out to a slower ball by akthar for which akthar didnt even celebrate and apologised for showed how much respect he had for dravid as a batsmen.

Dravid was a fine ODI player, no doubt about that. The SR thing was very insignificant for his job which was to take care of business from 10th to 40th over.

not sure he apologised lol:))

n he doesnt have much respect for Dravid.

He should be apoologising to every batsman he gets out IMO :shabbir

Everyone has mentioned the above great knocks but I would also include 2shorter knocks under huge pressure v pakistan in Centurion 03 and Lahore 04

2009 champions trophy for me Pak V Ind match, anchored the innings like champion anchorman Misbah and made sure his team didnt win. brilliant knock!

There have been many but Rahul Dravid's best test knock remains the one he played in 2002 tour of England, that 140 something in Leeds. In terms of quality and given the conditions in which he batted, it was a legendary knock.

148 at Headingley
270 at Rawalpindi
76 at Wellington
233,70 at Adelaide
And the one above Srtfan mentioned.

Apart from the 148 at Headingley, I rate his 180 at Kolkata in 2001 very highly. He was under a lot of pressure going into that innings and might conceivably have been dropped if he failed again.

There was an ODI century he hit while chasing (successfully) in West Indies in mid 2000s during Greig Chappell era. Among his famous knocks, that effort kind of stuck with me. It was quite bossy, and he did not play while in the shadow of another player, a sad hallmark of Dravid's career and most of his knocks.

His 1996 debut 90 got overshadowed by Ganguly's century at Lords.

His 1999 world cup 145 against Sri Lanka got overshadowed by Ganguly's 183

His 153 in an ODI against New Zealand in 2000 got overshadowed by Sachin's 186

His 180 at Eden Gardens test got overshadowed by VVS Laxman 281

Oval 2011 as well. Another mastery in tough conditions. Remained not out in first inning and was given a wrong decision in second one.
