I am sure as an Indian fan, that would be India lifting the trophy but for a Pakistan fan it is this

"Champions Trophy being handed over to India in Dubai by Indian officials, in a tournament hosted by Pakistan!"

BCCI could not have scripted it better!

I liked the England v Australia match. It was good cricket and a good atmosphere.

1. India winning an ICC ODI trophy after 12 years and a lot of pain, with Rohit producing a MoM knock.
2. Kohli doing it once again vs Pakistan.
3. The no-look second six by Hardik Pandya vs Zampa.
4. Glenn Phillips catch in the final of Gill.
5. (I swear I'm not trolling) The flick through midwicket by Babar vs India.

1. India defeating Pakistan like it was another Tuesday.
2. India moving CT outside of pakistan as expected.
3. Shahbaz Sharif's speech

6. Jay Shah :misbah :inti

0. Kicking out the "dushman mulk"from its "Own" tournament and making Dubai the "Real" hosts lol

PS: Dont worry about some salty "Indians" who otherwise can be identified via this smiley --> :inti

Entertaining stadium renovations process, Pakistan hosting its first tournament in decades and those absolutely ridiculous Glenn Phillips’ catches.

Kohli’s throwback century against Pakistan will also be memorable as time goes on.

Aqib getting exposed completely.
Phillips catches
Finally breaking nz jinx by india
Iyer batting
Varun's redemption at Dubai where he got humiliatied earlier
It should've better if pak grounds were completely renovated
Afg methodical rise

Pakistan predictably crashing out in the first round, without winning a single match, in a tournament it was hosting & India winning the cup lol

Glenn Phillips' insane catches and his Taylor-esque finish vs Pakistan

Inglis - Carey partnership to chase 350

Hardik's sixes under pressure

India and Varun C bamboozling NZ in a throwback Lanka style 240 defense on a spinning wkt

Ibrahim Zadran high class inns against Eng

Tough one to pinpoint a single moment

But favourite moment was Varun getting head

Unless you are a fan of the champion team, there was nothing memorable in this tournament. The totally monotone dull drab non-existent crowds except for a couple of matches, three matches rained out, hosts out of the tournament on the 4th day etc. all ensured that this was a bore fest.

The buildup to the tournament, however, was super exciting. The venue battle, the stadium construction, the mystery till the last minute about the team was all more interesting than the tournament.

Pakistan haven’t held any international tournaments for long time. Maybe could be quite out of practice. The crowds were good I thought, England v Australia game was excellent, good crowd. Neutral games tend to be quite low turn out, more often than not, most places.

It didn’t help rain washed out some games.

Definitely room for lots of improvements. As there always is with anything.

Agree with you

ONe more thing to add. Ramiz Raja's commentary line

"What about the entertainment industry" while talking about Rohit's batting :ROFLMAO:

Fought for hosting rights - 2 years
Fought to host tournament in Pakistan - 3 months
Prepared to host tournament - 4 weeks
Survived in the tournament - 5 days

This was my memorable thing about this tournament.

- 'Baees Pundit' - has to be the Creme-a-la- Creme, the top gunner in the all time Saazish stakes!

- Hon PM SS's speech - with all due respect, he struggled to recall where the matches were being held, struggled to locate a few of his nation's team players when they were seated in front of him, and that absolute diamond speech when he named victory against India. I doubt if any head of any nation ahead of any sporting event world wide has been this specific when asked to gee up the boyz!

- Pak fans love and admiration for Virat kohli, heartfelt and sincere!

- Naseem Rajput - my pak mate sent the vdo's of his discussions/talk shows- Gee whiz!
- Those 3 catches by Glen gravity defying Philips against india in the group phase and finals
- Varun's Redemption
- Rohit, KL, VK, Rav Jad still performing and the absolute -ve ity and disrespect by a few PP indian fans
- Flight travel being suddenly under the spotlight, the massive hoo haa about unfair advantage and the subsequent take down of this on another extremely popular international cricketing website.

- Absolute Team work by Indian team

Australia vs England was the best game of the tournament by far

Fought for hosting rights - 2 years
Fought to host tournament in Pakistan - 3 months
Prepared to host tournament - 4 weeks
Survived in the tournament - 5 days

This was my memorable thing about this tournament.
Pakistan team deserved the humiliation for not playing Faheem Ashraf despite him showing excellent form in domestics

Entire tournament was a big farce due to BCCI's petty antics.

I am afraid we may see more farces in the future, unless there is a change in status quo. :inti

Lol what? Is there a rule somewhere that says the host can't be ousted from their own tournament? They fought for their right to host it, which has nothing to do with their team's performance. They even secured a hybrid model for tournaments hosted in India. This is a great lesson for those who give up too easily. If you believe you are right, stand your ground, or else the so-called powerful will try to bully you into submission. Despite all the drama from Godi media and some fans pushing for the tournament to be moved around, Pakistan did a commendable job hosting it. :inti

Yes Pakistan were a Honourable Hybrid Hosts (Triple H) for both Asia cup 2023 and the Champions Trophy 2025.

yeah...knew you'd be spreading it like the proverbial raita here...pito chaati like Arnab once said...:)

No one above has disputed that the hosts did a wonderful job in hosting the tournament.....Kudos to them for doing a wonderful job!

but since you had to be specific in definining the media involved etc -and now propogating the hybrid model for the next tourney - the Asia cup and extolling its virtues, must be a diffcult time for you as i mean June 7th-(which is fast coming up) was hard enough with the events on the field and off the field in our capital, we've now picked up two ICC tourney's in quick succession and in the CT - defeated your two teams in the league stages... :dhoni - a long wait till june when the Eng test series starts for the next installment ...:)

Iam actually spoilt for choices here ... because I'am having a hard time picking from the following options some of which start weeks before even a single ball was bowled and lasting well after the last ball bowled ... lol

1. BCCI toying with PCB making them bed backwards in hope of making them play in Pakistan ( all Ind matches in Lahore and travel to Amritsar immediately after the match lol )
2. BCCI Dragging the hosts out to Dubai from their own home in supposedly their own tournament
3. Then Indian cricket team promptly shutting out Pakistan from their own tournament after their bosses had dragged them out of their home lol
4. As if to concur with BCCI and the Indian cricket team their own God himself got into the act and rained on the last Pakistan match.
5. Pakistan setting new "record" in playing only one match in their own tournament at home ( With help from India and Rain gods )
6. Pakistan setting a "record" being the fastest to exit their own tournament in less than 4 days or 2 matches.
7. that set off a frenzy of Saazish themed rona-dhona on social media which was priceless entertainment in its own right
8. Then the Indian team decided to add more misery on our padosee fans and the one Ex-Pakistani and one Ex-Indian :inti on this forum by beating Aus in S/F and NZ in the final ... ohh the misery
9. Then the BCCI bosses did the final honors by completely shutting out the PCB from the medals ceremony of what was supposedly a PCB hosted tournament and making it a completely BCCI show.
10. BCCI raking in the moolah and laughing their way to the bank while PCB looking at massive losses.
12 Special mentions: Indian anthem played in Pak and deletion of Pakistans name from the coverage making PCB cry lol
13. The social media rona-dhona for weeks in the aftermath totally priceless.
