Day/night Test, pink ball are just some of the considerations that the Pakistani think tank has to make.

What do you think should be Pakistan's starting XI for the first Test in Brisbane?

SHARJEEL
AZHAR
BABAR
YOUNIS
MISBAH
ASAD
SARFARAZ
NAWAZ
AMIR
WAHAB
RAHAT

Sami not deserves to be dropped but we hv to take chance in this d/n test.....and apply the rules of junaid's

1.) Sharjeel Khan
2.) Azhar Ali
3.) Babar Azam
4.) Younis Khan
5.) Misbah-ul-haq (C)
6.) Asad Shafiq
7.) Sarfraz Ahmed (WK)
8.) Mohammad Amir
9.) Yasir Shah
10.) Wahab Riaz
11.) Rahat Ali

I wanted to go for Sohail Khan in a heartbeat but I heard something about having left-arm quicks against Aus as it would be more effective so this would have to do. Sohail is way better with the bat than the rest of the tailenders.

Sami Aslam
Azhar Ali
Younis Khan
Babar Azam
Asad Shafiq
Misbah-ul-Haq (C)
Sarfaraz Ahmed
Sohail Khan
Yasir Shah
Rahat Ali
Mohammad Amir

part of my last post

and dropped yasir becoz nawaz can give us some good late order runs in case our top order flops and nawaz has to keep it simple and tight in bowling to rotate fast bowlers at the other end in middle overs especially in day time and anyway d/n test is more of fast bowlers

Sami Aslam
Azhar Ali
Babar Azam
Younis Khan
Asad Shafiq
Misbah-ul-Haq (C)
Sarfaraz Ahmed
Yasir Shah
Mohammad Amir
Wahab Riaz
Imran Khan*

*A seriously underrated bowler, even Athers was perplexed as to why he didn't bowl in England. Always gets the ball in the right area...

I guess 10 of the spots are pretty much certain.

The main question probably is the 3rd seamer - Rahat, Imran or Sohail?

Sami Aslam

Misbah-ul-Haq (C)

Failed in dream conditions. Mediocre.

Azhar
Sami
Babar
Younis
Misbah
Asad
Sarfraz
Yasir
Amir
Sohail
Wahab/Rahat

Don't understand why people want Sami out. He's an excellent Test opener. If Sharjeel replaces anyone it should be Asad but Asad should get the first game

Azhar
Sami
Babar
Asad
Misbah
Younis
Sarfraz
Yasir
Amir
Wahab
Rahat/Sohail

Sami Aslam
Azhar Ali
Babar Azam
Younis Khan
Misbah-ul-Haq (C)

Sohail Khan
Imran Khan
Yasir Shah

Rahat is too expensive and IK can't swing the new ball or hold a bat. Sohail can at least swing it and can also bat. Imo we should go with Sohail.

Anyone willing to leave out Sami in hopes that Sharjeel is going to be better is deluded, no reason to drop Sami. Playing Nawaz over Yasir can't even qualify as a joke, that'd be atrocious. Don't think Wahab would be the most successful on a green track, we'll see what they do. My XI would be:

Sami
Azhar
Babar
Younis
Misbah
Shafiq
Sarfraz
Yasir
Sohail
Amir
Imran

He can swing the ball, I've seen him do it. Nobody swung the ball in New Zealand (2nd test) until the last 4th innings, we bowled in the 3rd.

We all know what the batting line up will be, so it is all about the bowling attack.

I'd go with Amir, Sohail, Imran and Yasir (if he is fit to play).

Which dream conditions? New Zealand?? If so, took the highest amount of wickets in the match (6) whereas PP ladla Amir only took 3.
Yeah, but the New Zealand media was making fun of Imran Khan for being so mediocre yet having such an illustrious name.

Amir had 3 catches dropped, while Imran just got lucky but was totally unpenetrative.

Best possible team:

1. Azhar Ali
2. Sami aslam
3. Babar azam
4. Younis Khan
5. Misbah ul Haq
6. Asad shafiq
7. Sarfaraz Ahmed
8. Yasir shah
9. Sohail Khan
10. Amir
11. Wahab riaz

2 catches, and of the same guy. I'd take a lucky "unpenetrative" IK over people who don't take wickets like Rahat. Obviously Amir should still play, the real person who shouldn't be near the team is Rahat.

Nothing out of the ordinary for the first test, Sami won't be dropped for Sharjeel.

1. Sami Aslam
2. Azhar Ali
3. Babar Azam
4. Younis Khan
5. Misbah ul-Haq
6. Asad Shafiq
7. Sarfraz Ahmed
8. Yasir Shah
9. Sohail Khan

11. Rahat Ali

My XI would be
Sami
Azhar
Babar
Younis
Misbah
Asad
Sarfraz
Sohail
Yasir
Amir
Wahab

Rahat wastes the new ball in return for a couple of jaffas and an RPO of around 4.5-5 and don't even talk about Imran Khan.
Azhar should try and contribute with the ball as well because IMO he has a very handy googly he just needs tonland in the right areas

Obvious XI and right XI should be -

Azhar*
Sami
Babar
YK*
Misbah
Shafiq*
Sarfraz
Riaz
S Khan
Amir
Shah

The * are useless players who will fail to deliver in this series

The squad is poor too, Sharjeel/Rizwan - Both are awful.
Nawaz - Also useless

9. Sohail Khan
10. Wahab Riaz
11. Rahat Ali

Forgot Mohammad Amir, he'll replace Riaz or Ali

The media in Australia and NZ rates Mohammad Amir highly. It's not a fast bowler's fault if his slips can't catch.

But I will remind you what Radio Sport in NZ commented when Imran Khan bowled:

"Well, this fella is Imran Khan in name only".

People would say that about any bowler in our team if their name was Imran Khan. You have gotta face it, Amir is living off his past fame, he's been nothing special since his comeback.

I actually disagree.

I think that pre-2010 Mohammad Amir was a Poor Man's Wasim Akram. He was mainly an inswing bowler who would create LBW opportunities.

I think post-2015 Mohammad Amir is a different type of bowler. He can bowl inswing with a pink or white ball, but with a red ball he is now a "slant it across to the batsmen to get him caught in the slips" bowler.

He is really good at that - better than Trent Boult.

But Pakistan bowlers who rely on good slip fielding have a major handicap. Steve Rixon is doing a good job, but with people whose techniques may be too bad to improve so late in their lives.

My son did slip catching training in Australia from the age of 9. I think it might be too late to train the likes of Sami Aslam and Babar Azam even in their early twenties.

Can anyone post Amir inswing from Pre 2015!! Amir was never an inswing bowler ! He used to bowl fuller with dip or stright/ankle within The stumps from left arm over!!! Inswing is what wasim, Pathan
Used to Bowl. Amir now only bowls storter leghts and across The batsman! Go and check youtube
