Imran Khan*
*A seriously underrated bowler, even Athers was perplexed as to why he didn't bowl in England. Always gets the ball in the right area...
I guess 10 of the spots are pretty much certain.
The main question probably is the 3rd seamer - Rahat, Imran or Sohail?
Failed in dream conditions. Mediocre.
Rahat is too expensive and IK can't swing the new ball or hold a bat. Sohail can at least swing it and can also bat. Imo we should go with Sohail.
Imran Khan is a seam bowler...He can swing the ball, I've seen him do it. Nobody swung the ball in New Zealand (2nd test) until the last 4th innings, we bowled in the 3rd.
Yeah, but the New Zealand media was making fun of Imran Khan for being so mediocre yet having such an illustrious name.Which dream conditions? New Zealand?? If so, took the highest amount of wickets in the match (6) whereas PP ladla Amir only took 3.
Some people tend to assume that just because somebody is a trundler, they can swing the ball.Imran Khan is a seam bowler...

Amir had 3 catches dropped, while Imran just got lucky but was totally unpenetrative.
Imran Khan is a seam bowler...
Nothing out of the ordinary for the first test, Sami won't be dropped for Sharjeel.

The media in Australia and NZ rates Mohammad Amir highly. It's not a fast bowler's fault if his slips can't catch.2 catches, and of the same guy. I'd take a lucky "unpenetrative" IK over people who don't take wickets like Rahat. Obviously Amir should still play, the real person who shouldn't be near the team is Rahat.
The media in Australia and NZ rates Mohammad Amir highly. It's not a fast bowler's fault if his slips can't catch.
But I will remind you what Radio Sport in NZ commented when Imran Khan bowled:
"Well, this fella is Imran Khan in name only".
I actually disagree.People would say that about any bowler in our team if their name was Imran Khan. You have gotta face it, Amir is living off his past fame, he's been nothing special since his comeback.
He is primarily a seam bowler, he may swing the ball on the odd occasion, but swing is not his speciality. If my eyes don't deceive me, I've seen him swing the ball, believe me if you want.
Can anyone post Amir inswing from Pre 2015!! Amir was never an inswing bowler ! He used to bowl fuller with dip or stright/ankle within The stumps from left arm over!!! Inswing is what wasim, PathanI actually disagree.
I think that pre-2010 Mohammad Amir was a Poor Man's Wasim Akram. He was mainly an inswing bowler who would create LBW opportunities.
I think post-2015 Mohammad Amir is a different type of bowler. He can bowl inswing with a pink or white ball, but with a red ball he is now a "slant it across to the batsmen to get him caught in the slips" bowler.
He is really good at that - better than Trent Boult.
But Pakistan bowlers who rely on good slip fielding have a major handicap. Steve Rixon is doing a good job, but with people whose techniques may be too bad to improve so late in their lives.
My son did slip catching training in Australia from the age of 9. I think it might be too late to train the likes of Sami Aslam and Babar Azam even in their early twenties.
