British-Pakistani singer Zayn Malik will arrive in India for a multi-city tour in August.

"He will kick-start the tour from Mumbai on August 3 and then head to cities like Kolkata, Hyderabad and Delhi. We are planning to organise his concert in Nepal too," Vishal Pandey, Chief Operating Officer, JPR Events, told IANS.

Zayn found fame on the 2010 series of "The X Factor". After delivering hits like "What makes you beautiful", "Little things" and "Live while we're young" as part of One Direction. He announced in 2015 that he was quitting the band to lead a "normal" life out of the spotlight.

"I was trying to get One Direction (to perform in India) but they did not have dates," said Sunil Hamal, Director, JPR events, which is organising the tour along with Apar Mathur, owner of Blot Canvas PR.

"Zayn has a very good fan following here so, I thought why not Zayn. I am also in touch with (his former bandmate) Liam Payne. I was little confused between Liam Payne and Zayn," he added.

After leaving One Direction, Zayn dropped his first solo single, "Pillowtalk", in 2016. Zayn also made cover versions of Indian singer Kailash Kher's hit numbers "Teri deewani" and "Allah ke bande".

Earlier this year, the "Dusk till dawn" hitmaker shared that he worked with music maestro A.R. Rahman on one song.

His latest song "Entertainer", released in May via RCA Records, is also being lauded.

Posting this gives me immense pleasure because just couple of weeks back some of the posters apparently from a parallel dimension were trying to convince us that no one knows Zayn in India. Now, his concert is being celebrated by the indians all over the news and twitter. This is just hilarious. :))

Bit too much. Tolerated would be a sensible reaction.

No, the organizer is an Indian. Indians are willing to pay big bucks to watch a Pakistani perform in their country. Do you guys have a shortage of local talent?

So if anyone performs in India, its because shortage of local talent? So why not play PSL year around without foreigners,do you have shortage of local talent?

Looks like he is not performing in Bihar, guess Bihar has lot of local talent.

Zayn Malik is of Pakistani origin but he was born in Bradford, England which makes him a British Citizen. But don't mind me, this doesn't get in the way of your intended goal anyway :yk

Not really, i mean you guys were paying our actors (Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan etc.) big bucks to work in your movies when you have such an established industry and a strong actor base? Why is that so? And then you end up banning them when it suits your government's agenda?

I actually was almost half convinced that the said singer is not known in India because the posters on here were so aggressively adamant. Looks like they were not giving us the correct picture. :afridi

This thread has context. Its all over the social media.

Relax man.

Zayn is half white. Has full British nationality. He has never seen Pakistan in his life.

That is a different scenario to Fawad and Mahira.

Its their country let them ban who they want and who they dont want whether its Bollywood or IPL.

Personally, I dont watch IPL and Bollywood (anymore) as there are better alternatives out there.

Why watch second rate stuff when there is better quality elsewhere.

Fawad was a good actor and had those looks,so he made it, Mahira was never gonna make it big anyway.
The banning was of no point, and yes banning in unfortunate/unfair which will be good for Pakistan in long run similar to how PSL made it big because of similar reasons.

Will he be introduced as Jayn Malik? Curious minds would like to know.

In a country of 1.3 billion ppl even if 0.5% know him thats a huge population, and 0.2% like him that is still huge ,hope you get that.

Yes, it has made Fawad and Mahira concentrate on Pakistani cinema.

But honestly pakistani starts should aim higher than Bollywood. The likes of Priyanka and her contemporaries are dying to get recognition in Hollywood, yet our stars would settle for Bollywood

The major Indian stars barring at max 3 are not dying to get recognition from Hollywood, Tarantino once complemented Bollywood for the same that they don't leave and come off to Hollywood,if not Dilip Kumar(refused Lawrence of Arabia),Amitabh ,Shah Rukh Khan,Madhuri,Akshay Kumar,Amir Khan all would had tried.

Also Amir is giving all hollywood movies a a massive competition in China, why would they want hollywood recognition.

Its not so easy.

There are not many leading roles for brown people, much less brown people with accents in Hollywood.

Also, Hollywood is a bit more professional, where even big stars like Al Pacino, De Niro, Dicaprio, have to audition.

Most Bollywood actors dont want to go through that. Salman gets roles delivered to him on a silver platter, he is not going to become a struggling Hollywood actor obviously.

But the fact is, at the moment Hollywood is the epitome of cinema in the world. British cinema, Japanese cinema, etc... have quality but does not come even close.

So a true actor, would obviously want to act in Hollywood.

Bollywood is self sustaining yes, where these stars like Shahrukh khan are rich beyond belief.

But if there was a chance some of these stars could become leads in Hollywood, without the struggling you would be naive to think they wouldnt take that opportunity. There is a lot more money in it, more fame, more recognition of talent if you make it big.

Hopefully they will learn to appreciate some good music for once.

Let's hope he doesn't get attacked by the BJP for love jihad when all those Hindu girls faint in front of him. :)

Great news for the worldwide desi community. The popularity of British Pakistanis shouldn't remain constrained to PP and a small island in the northern hemisphere. Let's take the talent back home and show them how it's done.

Amir Khan has also been to India, he's been helping them with boxing. No wonder Indians love British Pakistanis :)

You do understand the concept of realizing true talent and then having them work in a platform / market so one can showcase that ability to the world outside of the country they’re originally from for profit and entertainment ? It’s the same here. India realizes that there is immense potential with actors and actresses like Fawad and Mahira and the same can be said for the music talents in Pakistan like Adnan Sami, Atif Assam and many more. India likes to use that talent to promote them within its own market for obvious reasons like entertainment and profit. Its unfortunate on the recent government stance. If India is now calling upon Zayn then they are paying him big bucks to come to India and perform to the Indian fans who love Zayn. Just like with every thing there will be folks that don’t like Zayn’s music and many more surely that love his music irrespective of his Pakistani heritage. With that being said and correct me if I’m wrong , only one of the parents is Pakistani and the other is white ? With that being said I didn’t even know about his Pakistani heritage until I came here and I’ve known him since he’s been with one direction.

Will he be introduced as Jayn Malik? Curious minds would like to know.

We don’t have z in our vocabulary. It’s an Arab imported alphabet. We will pronounce it the way we want.

I had to google search who this guy is. Looks like he was born in England. He is as Pakistani as Moen Ali.

Between he is only half Pakistani. His mom is British.

Ahh the infatuation with Indian girls.

In conjunction to this, US has a process where like anywhere else they will only market people who they know will win them an audience. So when Us makes a Hollywood movie they will first go after their own mainstream actors and if they feel they have an opening for a 2 minute trivial role or something else they will start to look around to other places either , Latin America, Europe and then Asia and other markets. If the 2 minute role for the unknown foreign actor peaked an interest for the Us audiences, you will see that producers will get that person onboard for another project with maybe an expanded role. So it’s a lot of getting the audiences used to the person before they become a huge face in the Us. Shahrukh khan himself once said in some article that why would he work for a major Hollywood movie to play a 5minute role of a doctor of cab driver when he is already a super star in India making millions. Amitabh Bachan was also offered slum dog Millionaire to play the role of the game show host and he refused. Anil kapoor ended up taking the role, which lead to a short role in a mission impossible movie as a villain which Indian audiences hated. But if you get my gist that’s how it works.

Priyanka Chopra is the first Indian of her kind where a major Us tv channel Abc brought her in and offered her a lead tv show of her choice. This lead her to the bay watch movie which again Indian audiences hated since she played the villain in the movie.

Hollywood is defn big, but you argument is Similar to where the potential immigration is to and that again will be best country there is.

We have some random Korean bands performing here every few months, all of them get a pretty good crowd. Would that mean they are well known in India?

Fair to say Slim is a massive fan of this artist.

Well talent is welcome, remember alka yagnik and Kumar sanu too preformed in Pakistan.

Big shame though that he chose India over his beloved Pakistan especially when he obviously has so many hardcore fans there.

There are many zayn maliks in the every gully in Pakistan..but watch how Hindu girls go crazy at the sight of an ordinary Pakistani..and give massive inferiority complex to hindu guys.

So you're back to being on speaking terms with me? Well, that's a relief :)

On topic, I'm not sure if the Hindu girls would continue to faint if they saw the video in which he cross-dressed :cobra

Even Begum Nawazish Ali has more machismo than your kapoors and kumars. Nothing wrong about it though.. Indian males are shy and sensitive (and there are girls who prefer these traits), while Pakistani DNA has masculinity and muscularity which is irresistible for many.. Although this zayn guys traits have been diluted by British genes. A pure blood Pakistani anyway.

Genuinely have no idea who he is. Read one Kailash Kher thread and now this. Is he good? What is his genre?

You saw a video where he cross-dressed? You must be a big fan, seems you have more in depth knowledge than many British fans. No wonder he is targeting the Indian market.

Zayn Malik does not perform live.
He hasn't performed live in the UK or anywhere else in the world since going solo.

UNless he's concurred his stage fright I doubt he'll perform in India.

What are you saying. This is fantastic news. He will break his vows on performing live, here in India? Oh man :cobra

Just shows how much of an honour and privilege he considers India to be.

India - the ultimate frontier for every true blooded Pakistani. We salute brother Zayn on his trip here. Sister Zayn too, if she too accompanies him.

India has an oppressed yet vibrant LGBT community. Zayn has done more for them with that one video than no pop super star could since Elton John got married. Zayn will be welcomed here with lots of love and in huge numbers.

Come to think of it, is that why he hasn't included Pakistan for a side event on this mega tour of his. Maybe he doesn't feel welcome there :moyo

Do you order pizza or Pijja?

Brits have z in our vocabulary, I wonder if we imported from the Arabs as well? In any case I'm pleased we did, don't think I could enjoy it as much if it was called pijja.

Z, Q and X are the coolest letters in the alphabet, no wonder Muslims are the coolest with their usage of Z and Q.

Pizza. But it is my wish to pronounce it whatever way I want.

I use z for English worlds. But a J just to troll some haters.

Oh, so you know which words have Z and which have J. Likewise for Q and K.

historically, the elite class has used words which are difficult for the commoners to pronounce. Hopefully you do the same with english and break its grammar rules as a sign of protest against elitism.

Good to see you are conforming to stereotype by at least showing deference to the English.

I prefer to use J for Z to tick off some trolls. That's all. I don't care about who is elite or who is a commoner.

But you do agree that J is phonetically inferior to Z right?

Why is it inferior?

In our vocabulary, Z does not even exist. We have stuff in our languages which is not found in any other language.

We have an alphabet for Ksha, Gna, La (with toungue touching the interior part of mouth)... Yet we do not consider other alphabets from other foreign languages as inferior.

There is nothing superior or inferior. I am pretty sure Pakistani languages did not have letters Z, Q etc until they borrowed it from Arabic.

Just realised in Hindi, Zayn Malik would be turned into a Jane Malik. No wonder he's been caught cross dressing.

Well said, good to see someone stick up for their cultural heritage. Tell Musakhel to go zump off a cliff.

For Words which people are acustomed to using Z like Zinda, pizza, Zain in that case using Jindah, Pijja or jain sounds stupid.

Sounds like Z and Q were added to hindi by using the nukta. But indians can hardly write and speak plain hindi, let alone sounds with the nukta.

Too much of convent education..Ph became F. phal became fal. Can't even speak proper sanskrit based words and flaunting their ignorance about urdu sounds as some kind of virtue.

So, your only line of defence is to call Zayn a homosexual? LOL seriously. Quite pathetic actually. Seems like in your part of the world, its still used to offend someone. For the record, i had to actually google it because i had no idea about it, Zayn cross dressed for a 1Direction song in which every singer dressed in a weird fashion. I didnt even follow him in 1D days as their songs are rubbish and childish.

Cannot wait for the indian girls to go frenzy over another Pakistani guy, yet again. Ali Zafar, Fawad Khan, Zayn Malik. Damn, are you guys that bad?

:))) Not just Z, they have also ruined P. Such as saying meri tou FATTT gayi yaar instead of phatt. LOL. Hilarious.

Did I? You seem paranoid.

Seems like the unearthing of this little nugget seems to have disturbed you quite badly. Little wonder Zayn decided to exclude a stop-over in Pakistan from his mega event in India as he knows the solidarity he showed with the LGBT community will only be respected in the lands of the free :)

It's still the ultimate fantasy, isn't it :rahat

Interesting you didn't mention Shoaib Malik there.

Ah, so it's the Hindu women.

I see.

Nice to know.

Really? I always thought that artists made most of their money via concerts?

Yes apparently so...
Come to think of it do you or anyone else ever recall seeing him perform live outside of 1D?

Mate, am a little old to listen to 1D. Was in my mid-20s when 1D came on X Factor. Have never really followed 1D. So wouldn’t know about his stage fear.

Wonder how does he make up for the money lost to concerts. Surely money earned via album and single sales are getting lower day by day due to Spotify and all.

Where do you think I get my information from?
My teenagers is the answer! One of Rhône just sat her first A level (Chemistry) exam today
