Zimbabwe (205) beat Pakistan (60/6) by 80 runs (DLS method) in the 1st ODI to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series

Now i can understand why was pakistan team played with Full strength team against B and C team's

I don't really have this childish obsession to be correct no matter what. I just said that this is his first ODI and his List A stats are fantastic, watching him bat in domestics, he is no better or worse than the rest and has deserved a call up. It is your pathological need to always be right, I couldn't care less about your opinion of me and what you think of my understanding of cricket

It's not a need to be right. I am right plain and simple. A 52 Avg player gets dismissed on a duck haha
 
What luck, rain almost immediately after what would be considered a full match. These lulloos deserve it though.
 
I don't blame these players.

Pakistan change chairman, selectors, captain and coaches as other people change their underwear. On top of that you have all these vile pundits on tv, youtube and tiktok who all compete to be as controversial as possible for views. Most of them bitter and jealous.
 
The funny this, Had a few shots been played, time would have been wasted and game would have been a draw.

But no, No one made an effort to attack. Spinners ended it early

Our batting was never properly tested in Australia as our bowlers gave them low totals to chase.

This is their true aukat. Shameful scorecard whatever the context of rotation or conditions.
 
The team is already doomed when you have players like Abdullah opening. To add insult to injury, there are players such as Haseeb, Gulam and Agha to compound the misery.
Abdullah shafique needs public humiliation just like khushdil style...

What do you guys want when babar was playing you guys wanted him out and naseem amd shaheen aswell now domestic beauties got chances you guys are still crying.

All playing. Accept the dearth of talent in Pakistan and we have to look way more than stats while picking intl players.
E.g., haseebullah has feet stuck and plays dots all over but will hit 1 2 fours. That might work in domestics but not intl cricket
 
Babar should have beeen playing against his arch rivals... Atleast he wouldn't let Pakistan be humiliated against the mighty Zimbabwe..
 
Shows our true auqat now. We have to keep playing Babar to even beat fellow minnow teams.

I'm not saying don't try fresh players for these series. However being 60-6 vs Zimbabwe is inexcusable. Can we even say this is a B team ? We're only missing Fakhar and Babar. Can't count Saud who isn't established in ODIs like the other two. Mainly the bowlers were rotated.

I hope the match is abandoned - I want this scorecard frozen as a monument to Pakistan's rotten cricket system.

This is the product of our academies, coaching, domestic structure, millions spent on useless mentors and "talent hunts" ? Absymal !

This is just the tip of the iceberg.
 
No floodlights so it reduces the cut off time. Even despite the lack of infrastructure and revenue we have been schooled

A team consists of Shafiq, Salman, Haseebullah deserve to loose every match.

People thought beating England at home in Tests, and then winning the ODIs vs an Aussie side missing a couple of big players meant the side turned a new leaf.

It's never been the case. These same players then went on to lose the following T20s vs that same Aussie side and instead of filling their boots in Zimbabwe they've lost the first ODI because their batting is as poor as its ever been.

Nothing has changed. Just newer names have been introduced.

The first ODI between Pakistan and Zimbabwe has been called off due to rain.

Zimbabwe wins the match by 80 runs (DLS method).
 
Congrats to Zimbabwe, I'm pleased for them.

Pakistan is giving a boost to minnows in every format. USA, Bangladesh, Ireland and Zimbabwe have all beaten us.

If we lose to so many minnows I guess we are minnows now too.
 
One thing common between Bobby , misbah and Rizwan . All have lost an ODI to Zimbabwe as captain.
 
Misbah ul haq ruined Pakistan. Pakistan was good till he showed up and removed Mickey Arthur. Look at the mess! Pakistan is in deep trouble… Tuktuk is legendary
 
The quality of depth or their lack of is striking in Pakistan.

It doesn't help with the domestic structure constantly changing.
 
This thread is the reason why Pakistan will never become good at cricket.

The fans don’t have any patience, the fans behaviour here will ensure Pakistan will be forced to be scared of losing and will never ever truly groom youngsters. Next series onwards Babar, Shaheen, Naseem and all first choice players will be back against minnows.

Babar has been looking as mediocre as any player in the last 18 months or so. As the famous saying goes, everyone is a better player when they're out of the team.
 
Whilst this team might be poor, you also have to take into account that they played on bouncy wickets in Aus just days ago and flew straight into a square turning pitch in Zimbabwe.

It's clear they need to adapt to pitch conditions quickly, even on a day to day basis ...that includes bowlers, and even the A team players.

If this moron actually knew how to communicate with his batters 🤦🏻.

The audacity of people to compare him to sarfi.

One captain communicates, Forms plans, and creates roles and ensures he himself isn't a liability in the batting order.

The other ensures he blocks the batting order. And has zero communications with any of his players.

Horrible leader. His best leadership quality so far is that he listens to his bowlers and by listening to his bowlers he's essentially allowing them to set field placements while he does nothing and takes credit for it.

His statement I am a slave to my 15 players Is 100% true.
