Zimbabwe defeat Pakistan in Super Over, Pakistan win ODI series 2-1

Overall performance of our team is very poor. We were lucky to win the first match.

Rizwan's Test form shouldn't disguise that he's done little of note for Pakistan in white ball cricket.

He lacks the power game and consumes too many dots.
 
Imagine if Ifti scores a match winning knock. He will end up securing his place for the world cup
 
Watch Misbah recall Hafeez and Malik now for "experience" in New Zealand.

Neither is Haider in ODIs.

Poor mans Umar Akmals with this legside slogging.

We need proper batsmen nurtured but unfortunately never given a chance.

Abdullah Shafiq and Saud Shakeel are better options in the middle order.

Rizwan has struggled here in ODIs, needs to really improve his ODI batting if hes to be main keeper batsmen in the side.

What a horrible decision to appoint him coach/selector.. let alone him not being qualified but how do you cop these positions while being on the committee that was supposed to appoint the next head coach LMAO

We were decent under Mickey this is horrendous...

I was anti Mamoon but now I see his point of view... this team needs to keep losing for people to wake up and demand a complete over haul

Mamoon has been saying that the team needs to lose a few matches to wake everyone up since back in 2009. If you're with Mamoon you're the one in need for a wake up call.

Not just ODI's T20I's which is why I didn't love him being the replacement to Sarfraz but who else is there? Honestly as a keeper-batsman I think Sarfraz is still the best option in LOI's cuz Rizwan's batting has never been up to par.

One thing I have learned about Rizwan is that he struggles against medium pacers who bowl around 120kph and slower pitches where ball sticks on the pitch. I have seen loads of dismissals inside edge onto the stumps because of the angled bat and ball coming slower than expected. He really needs to work a bit on few of these issues because he will be under the radar for the next series and similar mistakes will lead to losing the spot in limited overs. The thing is that he is talented and good enough for the limited overs but needs to show the temperament to survive international limited overs cricket.
 
Another drive for 4 by Babar. He'd give Hamilton a run for his money when it comes to driving

That's the thing. This Zimbabwe side should never have reached 278 after being 22/3. Pakistan , while chasing 250+ scores, has quite a dodgy record. Musk's bowling figures may have lost the match here
 
Pakistan should still win this game but great performance from Zimbabwe.

207 runs are needed from 35 overs.

This is a llulloo bowling attack. Just bat normally and Pakistan will win this. Shaheen, Musa and Hasnain can all bat as well. Run rate will not be an issue.

Yeah but even upto 2014-15 I remember them being around that 9-10 range. Heck I even remember them upsetting India in the 2015 World Cup and almost doing the same to South Africa. They were always about the 10th best team in cricket didn't realize they had dropped all the way out to 14.

Interesting fact for you

WI in last four WC, they have not won a single match against major team apart from Pakistan. WI have had many of these batmeez batsmen yet they suck

They didn't upset India. They didn't beat any major team in 2015 WC.

They are not #14. More Like #12. They are still a Test nation.

Actually Zimbabwe lost that match vs India

Going back to that tournament, Zimbabwe had India and South Africa both 90/4 before Raina/Dhoni put on a 200 partnership to chase 290 and Miller/Duminy went took them to 300+.

So they have a habit of relaxing in the middle phase with the ball and let’s hope they do that today.

We are lucky they don’t have the likes of Elton chigumbura and tatenta taibu anymore or else we’d be in a bigger mess.

Yeah let's just pretend the 2019 World Cup innings against the undefeated at the time and eventual runner up New Zealand didn't happen.
 
He already did that against nz in the wc against a much better team and a much bigger tournament in a must win moment.

True, but that was a smaller target and Haris was there with him. Sarfraz and Imad were also yet to bat.
 
Under Misbah we lost the test match vs zimbabwe and we might lose a ODi too under Misbah

Do you not remember the wicket? The ball was turning square, even Williamson was getting it to spin like crazy. Plus Imad and Sarfraz were not going to combine for 150 runs on that track, and it's not like it was a must win game for us or anything.
 
Hopefully this is the last time we see him play for Pakistan. What a waste of a spot.

misbah will be getting excited, saying youngsters have failed and pencilling in hafeez, asad shafiq and looking to persuade azhar and malik to come out of retirement.

Heck he might even come out of retirement himself, and lace those cleats backs up to give us that anchor with his 60 (110) in the middle.
