Worst part of all this is wahab and junaid would be our two backups..thanx to the fixers we have to find a whole new set of backups

Some reverse swing for Sohail Khan there. Interesting.

I think it would have been better had Waqar played this match as a coach cum player........ at least he would have bowled a few yorkers.

His runup looks pretty smooth now, in his first Test he was all over the place. Has improved a lot imo.

The foremost MUST thing any fast bowler must have, is having an athletic body. Even Shoaib Akhtar before 30 was extremely athletic.. Take out any great pace bowler in history and you would easily notice how good an athlete he was...

As you say, Sohail Khan looks improved from his first Test... but he is no where near to be called as athletic.. He should go and read article of Tino Mawoyo on cricinfo today about the importance of getting fit and losing few kilos...

Ajmal brought back into the attack, attacking field set... Hoping to see him rip the current two batsmen apart.

Eh.... India england test match was more fun.... Kp, bell playing like t20 was awesome! Now its neither.

Us Pakistanis have been spoiled by wickets shattering bowlers in history. Test cricket is a game of patience. Let's see how the match proceeds. We should have played our best team. Test cricket is not a testing ground. Wahab needs more matched to develop. And Tanvir Ahmed did nothing wrong in the few opportunities he has got. In fact Gul, Wahab and Tanvir are also able batsmen who bring much needed spine and fight to the batting lineup.

Should be careful not to use Ajmal as a workhorse. He's already old and one injury might spell the end.

On a side note I love Adnan Akmal. His commentary should be used as real commentary :adnan

I think Pakistan should identify the right bowlers for Test cricket and make them play less shorter formats and keep them fresh for Test cricket.

The PCB should plan well and look for a coach who can make the team improve on a long term basis.

At least Adnan took the catch, unlike bigger brother. :kamran And Sohail Khan, the man who dropped Mawoyo eariler, gets him this time.

Nice one Ramiz.

Sohail finally grabs a wicket - confidence booster for him and a delightful take by young Akmal.

well done sohail khan

this is a flat wicket nothing in it for the bowlers, patience is the key.

Misbah's captaincy has been ok (after the toss). The wicket is very flat.

Poor Sohail Khan, was really pumped up for his first wicket :ajmal

Oh nevermind, it's Taibu who gets out... Now Ervine is really out of form, so hopefully Ajmal can get him out early.

Adnan has a pretty decent record as a keeper, I am confidant that with a proper batting coach his batting will improve. Pakistan must be patient with him.

Left hander in :ajmal

Are there more than 3 people in the ground?

Adnan has a pretty decent record as a keeper, I am confidant that with a proper batting coach his batting will improve. Pakistan must be patient with him.

But the main thing is that let's hope he doesn't follow bigger brother's steps and doesn't get involved with bookies.

Sohail getting some reverse now. Looks like another old ball only bowler. :wahab

Adnan is a good keeper. Also on the way to becoming a cult legend :adnan

Cricinfo

"No Jawwad is right. Thought there was something fishy about Wahab Riaz's non-selection" Gav adds to the conspiracy theory. I like the thought of Riaz being considered senior enough to be given the choice of pulling out of a flat-track Test. Sohail meanwhile gets a change of ends

Pakistanis and conspiracy theories

AHH knew Ramiz was going to say Hussey, got a cringe down my spine when he mentioned that match.

Ramiz confirming that he was in fact a crap player during his time :raja
