2 Indian aircraft violating Pakistani airspace shot down; pilot arrested

A part of me feels sad for this pilot he was obviously just following orders. I hope he is returned back to his country soon.

But I suspect his treatment in India will be very bad for causing shame to India by having his jet shot down.

Now shoot those pilots in the head. As Sehwag said yesterday..boys played well. Stupid nation shall face consequences of being stupid.

Not that is against the rules of war. PoW are not executed.

No, he was doing his job. It's against humanity and we should treat him very well. Anyways, he is already praising that how Pak Army saved him from the angry mob.

If Modi continues in India for the next 5-10 years I fully expect a military coup in India. This rat thinks Indian Army is disposable commodity hence has no problem in war mongering. There will come a time where the army will loose patience after having to bury son after son.

I hope someone has a word with Modi to de-escalate the situation now.

This is not the Pak army acting but expect Indian media to go nuts about this

As i mentioned earlier these are villagers living near LOC and they are one who suffer daily during these firings so Pak Army did a good job protecting him from them they were relly angry.

6 Indian Air Force soldiers killed in the chopper crash in Indian Kashmir.

India is insisting that it was a “technical fault”.

India is insisting that it was a “technical fault”.

That may well be true.

Where was the chopper from? Probably from a country that doesn't exist AKA the Soviet Union.

And in that case, how old was the chopper? Exactly.

I think more likley it was shot down because witnesses say the helicopter spilt apart in the air before crashing.

Maybe it was but for it to happen today and some witnesses say the aircraft broke in 2 before crashing.

No side wants to admit loses by the enemy.

There you go. We don't even need war to have our flying pieces of metal hurtling down. We've probably lost way more aircraft and personnel in peacetime than during conflict.

We crash everything from Su-30MKIs to MiG-21s to everything in between. A Mirage 2000 slammed into the road near my home (Old Airport Road, Bangalore) just a few days ago.

Why should the helicopters miss out on all the fun?

Ab thanday par jao saray... chalo sabash jaldi se haath milao

I hope this is the end of tiit for tat. If Ind tries to strike tonight, we could be in full war by tomorrow morning. As IK said, let better sense prevail.

It's been so confusing, don't even know which media reports to believe. Abhinandan is definitely in custody of Pakistan. But what about the other Indian pilot?

I am genuinely baffled, I thought IAF had improved a lot in quality, where has all the defence money gone to? Why are old planes and old choppers flying about when they have no business to fly?

Also during the 2002 standoff I think upto 1000 Indian men died according to Wikipedia, almost all of them due to accidents or equipment failures, why that hasn't been sorted is complete ineptness you'd think.

All your PM said was....lets peace prevails and if war escalates it will be nor in his and in Modi's hand. It was a balanced response...no where did he mention PAF entered Indian airspace.

Bottomline is below:

A) Jaish (residing in Pak) attacked our soldiers in Pulwama on 14th Feb.

B) IAF entered Pak air space, stayed there for 21 mins and attacked Jaish hideouts. Pak army couldnt do anything bcoz it was dark (as per their own admission) and IAF came back safely.

C) India never attacked Pak establishment. But to save face, Pak tried to enter Indian airspace but got booted out by our army.

D) 1 fighter plane chased the Pak plane and crossed border. Pak army captured him.

E) India (per reports) brought down 1 Pak aircraft.

F) Pakiatan's claim to have brought down IAF jet in Budgama turned out to be hoax.

G) Airports in North India are opened now...but in Pakistan they are still closed.

H) India is creating a nardative in UN that our attack was against terrorists as a self defence mechanism but Pak attacked civilian military.

#FACTS

Pakistan downed the Indian jets today by giving them a bait. Let’s no mistake about it - Pakistan have comprehensively won this mini war. The fact that Pakistani is morally wrong in this conflict has simply added insult to injury.

From an indian article:

Off the record, opposition leaders pointed out that the Pakistan aggression is little short of war. Pakistan shooting down an Indian plane and capturing a pilot has not happened since the 1971 war.

It's been so confusing, don't even know which media reports to believe. Abhinandan is definitely in custody of Pakistan. But what about the other Indian pilot?

Only one is captured alive, and other one is still un known. Confirmed.

And in that case, how old was the chopper? Exactly.

Paint job indicates that it was a MI-17V and not Mi-17. This chopper is a year old , delivered last year. This is a new upgraded chopper built with Mi-17 body, but everything else is new.

#BREAKING: According to @CNNnews18, troops have been told to be prepared for mobilization. The #Indian military continues to be on maximum alert.

DG ISPR has revised the statement on twitter and confirmed that there is only one Indian pilot in Pak army's custody.

That does not mean there isn't a second pilot. The second one will not officially be in "custody" until he is discharged from the hospital.

Getting parts for them is difficult, IAF maintenance is pretty poor compared to airline standard. Nothing can be done about old aircrafts. Our pilots are top-notch. But I also heard Pakistani Pilots aren't to be messed with.

LOL wikipedia ? Indian Army(not the whole military) has major corruption going on and always has. Indian Army is known for hiding bodies and claiming less casualties but your statement is wrong 1000, nearly 1000 soldiers didn't die of equipment failures or whatever that means lol . Pak army had better advantages. There is a war memorial in srinagar for Kargil war that is with-in reach of all Indians and accessible to all the Indians so the casualties are correct. During big open war like Kargil when whole nation is watching, such news like that would have gotten attention.

It is only border scrimmages and during IPKF operations in SL where Army stooped low to avoid major embarrassments.

According to CNN news india: Indian troops have been told to remain prepared for mobilization on urgent basis. India and Pakistan both continue to be on high alert.

Remember a few years ago when we crashed a brand new C-130J? Never put anything past our air force sloths, new or old.

It is established fact that 2 Indian planes were downed, do you think one pilot was flying two planes simultaneously?

Apparently fake - BBC reporting it

Debunking social media misinformation
It's been very difficult today for everyone, journalists included, to separate fact from fiction.

This hasn't been helped by a whirlpool of misinformation on social media.

Pakistan's government earlier released footage of the captured Indian fighter pilot on Twitter, with the video being shared far and wide.

But several accounts claimed there was also video of a second Indian pilot being captured. A Facebook page circulated this supposed video and it has been shared more than 29,000 times. It has also been retweeted hundreds of times on Twitter.

The footage is fake. The original footage of an injured airman was filmed last week when two Indian Air Force (IAF) planes collided in mid-air during a rehearsal for an air show in Bangalore.

How?

I will believe DG ISPR over BBC, until he revises his tweet. He clearly said two planes shot down with one pilot on custody, second plane fell in Occupied Kashmir.

I know it is hard for you to accept, you would have even denied the first plane being shot down if we hadn't released the pilot's video.

Dude lol scroll down in that link and there is his tweet where he is revising it

"Pakistan's military spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor has said that only one Indian pilot is in army "custody".

His statement comes hours after a press conference when he talked about two Indian pilots being arrested - with one sent to hospital for treatment.

No explanation has been given as to why the numbers have changed."

I dont know how to post a screenshot here. But believe what you want anyway.. I am just pointing it out since i read it

It says 2 planes and 1 pilot caught.
So that means 1 has died.
This is what Major Ghafoor said as well.

I can go to DG ISPR's twitter itself and see all the tweets myself. I don't have to do he said she said.

The tweet I posted above is his second last tweet in which he said 2 Indian jets shot down, 1 jet fell in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and second jet fell down in Indian Occupied Kashmir. 1 pilot in custody and "2 in the area" - whatever that means.

Then his latest tweet is this:

There is only one pilot under Pakistan Army’s custody.

So can you inform me where he changed his statement? He said 1 is arrested, 2 more are there but we haven't arrested them since their plane fell on India's side of the border.

Obviously you are having trouble swallowing the bitter truth.

This isn't a verified account.

I still think 48 hours from now, India will backpeddle into a ceasefire.

There are certain beyond the control elements that are letting this linger, but soon enough, someone will try to knock sense into India.

Pakistan literally has nothing to lose after winning this 2 day war. If it escalates further, India will lose everything.

Waiting for China to chime in soon.

I think by morning China will say, both countries need to pack their bags and shut shop.

I'm talking about Pilots bhai. Pilots aren't responsible for Mechanical errors.

The accident in question was triggered by the pilots of the frame deciding to fly into wake turbulence of an aircraft in front at low altitude.

No, you should have been sent rather than these soldiers. Lets chek your patriotism keyboard warrior

Go read my old texts before all this. I was yelling at my country morons about wanting war. I literally called them idiots. Now we are in the battlefield, so I can question the action. I'm the least from wanting war. I have an uncle with missing half side of his face and another that never returned from IPKF operations from SL. So I do know a thing or two about wars and I'm not a fan of it.

When did Pakistan win this war?

China issued a statement today.Read it.

US issued a statement too.Read that as well.

Like I mentioned earlier, Abhinandan's native is Tamil Nadu. He is actually a resident from Chennai. His nickname is "Veerapan" named after Asia's greatest sandalwood smuggler.

Yea he’s from south he said that

I didn’t know South Indians were part of Indian army. Like are they significant in numbers?

Brilliant so far... I've been right on the money, then.

China has done what I predicted.

Now wait 48 hours and all your false bravado will die, when India will stop this stupidity.

By the way, we won when you left with a dead tree, while we captured a live soldier. Unless off course you believe that you killed 300 insurgents.
