ABVD will get all the accolades but Du Plessis is such a important pressure soaker for this SA team. I reckon if it wasn't for Du Plessis innings SA could have been in a world of trouble.

Mac has led the side brilliantly in this WC, but he has bolted it today - 5 overs left from his 5th option, I see SAF posting close to 350 today. Kiwis 'll bat brilliantly, I am sure, but target 'll be just out of reach.

Both teams are bad chasers and this is game over for NZ. Will have to see if SA can soaf the pressure in the final especially when chasing. CHasing under lights at MCg is another beast altogether. If AB wins another toss in the final, SA will be the champions

IMO McCullum over attacked. Should have bowled more from Andersen in the middle overs. He is also a widket taking option and they needed him when South Africa was building w partnership. Now he could be taken to cleaners.

His knock has been the top class under pressure otherwise we would have been in big trouble. I was actually rooting for Baz to bowl even more overs of better bowlers , lol. NZ was under no pressure in many previous matches so it all looks good to go all out blazing but he miscalculated here.
350 is surely on card here but we still need to bat well. If AB is there till the end then 350 is almost guaranteed. Even without him , we should get to 330-340. Baz has been slogging from the get go in all matches and there was no pressure on NZ on those matches. Let's see his approach in this game.

AB doesn't slog as much as Baz. Baz needs a lot more luck to survive. It will take some batting to chase a big total despite tiny ground and 5th bowler issue. Let's see , we have a game in our hands.

Both have done poorly against SA. Especially Guptill who averages a mighty 11.5 in 10 innings
Different ground, different team, but few days back, PAK was 39/2 after 10, PAK was 97/2 after 23; today SAF was 37/2 after 10, 99/2 after 24. PAK finished 213, SAF is 216/3 after 38 ............ & I was trying to explain why playing bowlers at 7, 8, 9 & 10 on batting merit 'll not help PAK as long as their top 6 shows some self respect.

Thirimanne looks seriously good. He probably needs to improve his SR though. Chameera looks promising. Chandimal hasn't progressed as much as you guys expected but it still isn't too late. You can build a team around these 3 and they can be a force again by next world cup

Actually, if it's reduced to 48 or 47 overs, it 'll benefit SAF. DWL works on 2 fundamentals - wickets lost (or at hand) & moving run rate (which basically calculate the acceleration of the rate - it plots the rate after every over & calculate the slope of the trend line ). Since AB & Fuf has accelerated in last 10/12 overs & both not out, if SAF finishes at 300 after 47 overs, NZ target 'll be around 340 in 47 or 360 in 50. Besides, Kiwis 'll have to bowl 4 soft overs still (only 2 allowed 10, in case of 47 overs).
LO cricket is all about partnerships & wickets at hand - DWL is built on that. The bigger the partnership, most cases acceleration before break is highest & wicket is wicket.

All the way at the bottom sadly. Not looking good at all. Not just the big guns retiring but our whole set-up is in very bad shape. The big guns have been masking those problems all these years but there's no hiding from it now. Thanks to SLC clowns already lost Hathurusingha at a crucial point in time when guys like Chandi and Thiri were about to come into the team, and now we'll lose Vass as well after this WC. So we are going backwards. Very quickly.
