going going gone out of the ground

174

I should think so....plenty of overs and even though they might not have shown it yet, Jones and Blackwell are good attacking players

Collingwood run out.. Strauss got 2 lives, so did KP I cant believe this, the score should have been like 120/7 by now...

Hoepfully we can get to 240. You never know if Pietersen stays in til the end of the 50. That 6 off Bhajji was a mighty blow.

As some one would say...an Innings full of Character...though...I appreciate it very very much, If it were a normal KP innings India would have been outta the game on this sorta pitch by now

The Gojo and Blackwell show now (i hope). Good knock Kenny though.

Anything less than 240 now shd be dissappointing for England...especially with 3 allrounders left

If England score even 210+, this match is a goner for India. Its a shame that any tom dick and harry spinner is difficult to score off. Two matches in a row, these ridiculous pitches have made bowlers of Sehwag, Yuvi and even Gambhir. Any spinner going above 3 an over is a crime (committed by Bhajji today and to some extent by Powar) on this pitch.

For England, bowling of Blackwell and Collingwood will be the key. Whippy, does England have any stop-gap slow bowlers (Strauss?)?

I didnt see Gambhir bowling well(13 in 1 and on a helpful pitch)....Sehwag was expensive, was going over 5 rpo and Yuvi generally bowls the same way around 4 rpo.

I dont see a lot of difference here. Yes, the pitch was helpful as most in India.

As Indian batting has gone lately anybody will be difficult to score off, but one still hopes :)

Jones and Blackwell should just hit out, Plunkett and Kabir can bat so they should just smash the ball around.

The point is not Gambhir and Sehwag doing poorly or well. The point is that pitch is such a rank turner that captain even had the confidence to give bowling to non-bowlers.

they should send kabir ali before blackwell next time...more then usefull lower order batter!!!!!!

Looking at the pitch, this does seem to give bowlers to bowl something at. I think I read somewhere that 226 is the avg score out on this ground...but dunno, probably is a tukka

Poor finish by England, they should have scored at least 250 but they lost it al in the last 5 overs.

Well unless Sehwag or Dhoni really have a what is called...."unka din", which may be a tad unlikely on this pitch, this is a good enough score. At least that seems to be everybody's opinion out there.

Is Kabir Ali of Pakistani origin?
yes he is indeed, if your asking how many english players are in the current england side.....then i can assure you not many ;-)

There's no way England can compete with India's slower bowlers.. look at Pathan and Harbhajan's figures.

Yuvi seems to be liking KP very much...bagged him 2 in 2 now...what say whippy ? Bunny in making :)

I don't know which match you are watching. 43 runs off 10 overs on such a slow and rank turner is a crime and that's what Bhajji did today. I will be surprised if Blackwell gives more than 25 runs off his quota.

then, get ready to be surprised ... i shall for sure remember this post ... and about your earlier post, you are one of the very very few people whom I have met on this board saying Indians cannot play spin well

Prove that Indians play spin well. I can prove otherwise though.

shane warne - regarded as world's best spinner ...

averages 47 as opposed to carreer's avg. of 25

Murali averages 32 as opposed to carreer's avg. of 22

Lies, damn lies and statistics.

In order to prove your point, use the same yardstick that is applied for others, which is
a) playing when the ball is really turning
b) playing last in the 4th innings against some decent spin bowling.

Statistics that you have thrown also include those days when they were struggling to make their mark and were not classified as great yet.
Most of the runs that were scored off Murli were when he was not such a great bowler ie before 2000. If you want to throw statistics, do you know Murli was almost unplayable in the last India-SL test series? Go and check that series statistics. Our top order just perished against him and it was tailenders with their wham-bham-thankyou-mam type of batting that saved India's a****. And regarding Warne, have we played him on a last day pitch ever after 1998?

I can give you many more examples that proves Indians have never played spin well when the ball was really turning on a 4th day and 5th day pitch. Ah, just remembered one example off the top of my head. Remember figures of Michael Clarke, that greatest spin bowler of all time, at Mumbai last year? 6-9! Sure, we are great players of spin!

Problem with Indians is that the ICHM has brainwashed Indians into believing a few myths, where "Indians are good players of spin" is one of them. We have classified other nations as poor players of spin because they have perished against our spinners on turning pitches on the 4th and 5th days. But the ICHM has never applied the same yardstick for evaluating whether Indians are good players of spin. How have Indians themselves fared playing a dual pronged spin attack on a 4th and 5th day pitch? I am sorry to say that we Indians have failed this test most of the times but ICHM doesn't want to be bothered with facts :p

Who in your Op is the best players of spin? Please dont say Pak cause we all seen how Shane Warne terrorizes u lot...

this is some serious drama peeps

lets see whats the verdict.........................................one of the most bizzare dismissals you will ever see if hes out

what happend is, ball goes down the leg side , jones dives and gets the ball and throws it, ball hits the stumps, bails are knoced down, dravid thinks of the single and starts to run , colly comes on picks the bails up quickly puts them on the wickets and takes the wickets down with the ball in his hand..........

and yes dravid has been given out :11:
