People here were saying the same thing towards the end of the first game when Pak openers were having net practice. And look what Aussies did the very next innings.
 
Can Fawad survive the next session ? He has done absolutely nothing in this series, this is his chance to make some contribution.

Australia will literally have thrown away a test win if Pakistan manages to get out of jail for this one.

While people are dreaming about a win for Pakistan, even a draw (which is realistic) will crush Australian hopes and they might not come back till the next 24 years.
 
Fawad had a brilliant 2021, with centuries against New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies, after collapses too.

A lot of posters are hating and attacking Fawad at the moment. This is a huge innings for Fawad, captain of Sindh, in National Stadium!
 
Pakistan should have sent Rizwan instead Fawad to counter attack. Blocking will not put pressure on Australia, we need to get them to defensive mode by attacking batting.
 
Babar Azam needs to continue his brilliance and bat for the rest of the match.

Fawad Alam needs to bat at least until Tea.

Aussies have had a perfect game so far, scoring 500+ and then blowing away Pak for 140.
If Australia still don't win here they would be shattered
 
Fascinating response by Pakistan so far. They surely can win it if they can plan the chase hour by hour. Babar has proved his credentials as a genuine top batsman of this decade.

Talk about over exaggeration.

You remember Headingley 2019? And you remember the way Australia threw away that game? Yeah they came back and thumped England by 200 runs in the very next game. So not really.

This will easily be more heartbreaking than than Headingley. Wins in subcontinent don’t come easy to these incompetent bunch of cricketers, and throwing away a certain win will make sure they try to make it to their IPL camps earlier than they are allowed to.

All hypothetical ofcourse, Shafique’s wicket has made sure Australia do not act like sooks and do continue to tour us for the forseeable future.
 
If Pakistan end up losing this then it would hurt even more after the valiant effort they have put in the last three sessions. It's like getting too close to avoid a defeat but still losing in the end.

This can work if we need 170 or 180 more. We still need 250+ and that is a huge huge target. Second session is all about batting out.

Can promote Hasan Ali if target comes down to 120 with 6 wickets remaining. Will be exceptional effort if PCT can come close.

Ashes is the single most prestigious and prioritized series for Australia (and England too of course) along with the ODI world cup. And Australia haven't won in England in almost 2 decades. So you can only imagine their 'heartbreak' after throwing away a golden opportunity to go 2-0 up in an away Ashes series. You are seriously deluding yourselves if you think a defeat here would break the Aussies more than an Ashes defeat like Headingley.

This game would likely not even have a quarter of Australian public attention that an Ashes series has. And the players know it too.

Australian field settings are too defensive for my liking

Cummins himself is unsure to play safe or go the the win
 
I think Australia got lucky with reverse swing in first inning they had a bowl that aided it. All other balls in this match have not been so helpful. Of course for reverse sqing to be effective you have to bowl witj good pace and accurately.
There is zero chanceof Pakistan winning, as they will be trying to play balls on merit and Aussies are bowling accurately and to the plan. A Draw would be remarkable considering we have long tail. I will feel confident whilst Fawad is on the crease, Babar has been exceptional but how long can he bat.
 
Who else here thinks Pakistan collapsed in the first innings just to troll the pundits blasting the pitches so far in this series?

This was expected, Fawad is not good enough to face high quality pace bowling. He has been exposed too many times now in his short career. Good for mediocre bowling attacks like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc

Fawad Alam is horrific. Any decent team should be able to work him over. His lack of technique will always hinder his abilities.

Aus ended Fawad's ODI career, and this series should be the end of his test career for the laganwala batting stance

Karachi is the only ground in the country where you never lose overs due to bad light. Rain never happens either.
 
People bashing fawad , can anybody tell me how many balls he had faced in 1st test?. Never got a chance for batting practice when imam scoring 100 for fun.
 
Rizwan looks too rushed ...the calmness babz and Shafique showed is what is required. Even our tail can wag here we need to stay focussed

One simple thing for Pakistan to learn from the Aussies is the standing of their slips, gully silly point, short leg, leg gully and leg slip..

Pakistan men always stand at the traditional positions, but Aussies stand at where exactly the ball would lead to catch, judging the pace of the pitch , spin from the rough and so on.. This is what tactical cricket, this separates great team up above the avg teams like Pakistan...
 
Fawad Alam has done a lot of goodbatting for Pakistan in all conditions he has played and against all teams except for his return series in England. So hecan fail for 5 more tests and should carry on playing for Pakistan. That was a good ball from Cummins to someone early in his inning.

Not with someone like Shakeel in our ranks. We should replace him immediately. I'm not doubting the fact that he may still have a few good innings in him but Shakeel is just a better player and a long-term solution.
 
If Pakistan loses this one.it will be due to fawad tailender Alam the worst player i have ever seen.

Maybe it is because of lack of exposure to test / fc cricket.

Pretty much need both of these to stay on if we stand any chance of getting a favorable result here
 
wow what a waft by Rizzy again honestly send shaheen before him...you are trying to save a test match here. i wont be surprised a legside catch..chopped on maybe or any stupid dismissal by him need to reach tea
