As part of political reconciliation in Balochistan, 434 militants surrendered to the authorities on Friday evening.

The militants belonged to various banned organisations, including Baloch Republican Army (BRA), Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and other groups. The militants were allegedly involved in attacks on government installations in Quetta, Dera Bugti, Sui and other parts of the province.

“Innocent people have been used and elements instigating them were living abroad,” said Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri.

“Innocent people were martyred at the behest of elements who are the slaves of RAW and no compromise would be made over the writ of the government,” added the chief minister.

Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz on the occasion said that Pakistan cannot be weakened.

“Anyone laying down their arms would be welcomed,” added Riaz.

“We were deceived,” said Sher Mohammad, a key commander of the proscribed BLA, while Dur Khan Baloch, another key commander, said they will “no longer fight for the Indians”.

A senior provincial official said so far over 1500 militants have surrendered.

“More Ferraris would surrender before the authorities in the days to come, said Balochistan government spokesperson Anwarul Haq Kakar.

The surrender ceremony was attended by senior military and civilians leaders.

The largest province of the country by area, is home to a low-level insurgency by ethnic Baloch separatists. Al Qaeda-linked militants also operate in the region.

The province shares borders with Afghanistan and Iran.

Goes on to show you more proof of Indian involvement in Balochistan. Unfortunately for them, they will always be unsuccessful.

I saw someone doing a road-trip around the province. It is breath-taking, the scenery, the food, the coastal areas etc.

My own buddy did it. Man the drive from Karachi to Gwadar on the Makran Coastal Highway is BREATHTAKING.

They are now realising that their leaders who have had them fighting in the mountains are living good lives in Europe, USA and many are sitting in India as well. Why don't them living the good life come and fight for independence themselves?. Islamabad has mistreated the Baluch people as well, there is no doubt about this. India has taken advantage of this by arming them and telling them to fight. The next Pak government must drag the Baluch people in to mainstream society, Nawaz is incapable of doing this. Baluchistan is gong nowhere, it never was. Those comparing Baluchistan to Kashmir no nothing about history.

Good to see an undisputed territory and an integral part of Pakistan going in the right direction despite efforts from the neighbouring country to create trouble there.

Thousands getting butchered and all those mass graves must also be an effort from neighbors..right? If not, who do you think is creating that trouble? :mush

I used the words 'undisputed' and 'integral' for a reason here :) nobody can contest it in this case unlike. . . :yk

Neither India nor Pakistan is a saint in these kind of matters...Undisputed or integral, J&K is still a part of India(even if you don't like it) as of now.:)

Thousands gettting butchered? Mass unmarked graves? I have heard about a place where this happens. Cant recall right now sorry.

No amount of sugar-coating can make some of the excesses of the past go away.

For both Pakistan and India, in Kashmir or Balochistan or East Pakistan etc, some hard facts need to be faced and measures taken to ensure that these are not repeated.

That is true. But a little Correction there. J&K is still held hostage at gun point by India. Neither I or any Human being who likes to believe he/she is a human should like it. Thats the least we could do as believers in humane treatment of fellow people. Feel bad about it.

I know you are talking about human right abuses which should not happen anywhere but I think Kashmir and Balochistan should not be mentioned in the same sentence. It degrades the position of Kashmir as an internationally accepted dispute recognised by UN. It also degardes the position of an integral part of Pakistan i.e. Balochistan to being comparable to an international dispute.

Read this. Wonder if it is India butchering those political activists and separatists.

Mening bhai's post sums everything up. While both India and Pakistan can resort to accusing each other, truth is, there is an urgent need to accept ones own flaws. In then end, it isn't our proxies piling on the bodies, but the armies that were supposed to protect the same people.

thanks bro

How are the overall Haalaat ? Improving ?

I don’t see a free and fair election in Balochistan in 2018 either. Do you see such a chance ? Engineered results are expected, which would again be a shame.

Kindly give your input.

I do sympathise with the humanity in these situations like in Kashmir or baluchistan but your case weakens whenever you are posturing Pakistan as if they are any better than India. Be it integral or undisputed the people of Baluchistan are also humans.

free and fair elections are not possible here. powerful s meer's and sardars will win elections . but overall situation is batter then before . people are fearless . and now they dont talk against Pakistan . free BAlochistan movement is close to death .

BUT BUT what can i say . politicians are about to open a new Pandora box. NADRA Blocked thousands of PAshtoon's CNIC which is making pathans angry. we all know PAkistan never faced any problem's from the pashtoon belt of balochistan . But Wrong policies of GOVT are here to be blamed. i know so many people they are in pakistan from there forefathers time but nadra blocked their CNIC .
i am working in a income tax adviser office. one of my client CNIC was blocked . and do you know, his father paid INcome tax in 1975 . .

I have not condoned any actions of abuse on baloch civilians by Pakistan army. Just expressed good feelings regarding things getting better there. I agree with you that people shouldnt be tortured anywhere in the world by anyone.
