Jason Gillespie Labels Aaqib Javed a "Clown," Accuses Him of Conspiracy and Undermining Authority

Extremely bad and annoying sets a wrong example for foreign coaches looking forward to work in PCB.

Aqib unfortunately has become the modern Intikhab Alam , vying for any available position in PCB. More like a parasite and we are giving him appreciations and building a false narrative of making us dominant at home.

Inti behaved with dignity and done his job well enough. He tried to hang on for too long but did most of his roles ok.

Aqib is nothing in comparison. A real weasel of an individual who conspired with ex cricket mafia to ruin our cricket and get rid of our best hopes of progressing.

The sad thing is that many of our fans acted like dummies and fell for the narrative that the coaches weren't good because they didn't do throwdowns in the NCA. Such fans deserve Aqib Javed type coaches.

Let me see if I have this right.

First, for his direct benefit, Aaqib is directly responsible for creating disastrous volatility and discontinuity in Pakistan cricket by lobbying to get rid of new coaches.

And now, having succeeded in grabbing the position it coach, he covers up his own shoddy performance by blaming a lack of continuity.

That he himself helped create in the first place!

Who are you man? Besharmi ki bhi hadd hai.

Well done to the PCB for effectively shutting the door on any foreign coach moving forward. The way they treated Mickey already made this things difficult before, but now it’s just done for.

That too for a clown like Aqib.
But still i wont forget how jason was thinking to play all pacers problem with sena coaches is that they think pace will win games in subcontinent thats where aqib is smart he create spin pitches played to sena weakness which is spin bowling.

The reason they really against foreign coach is that many of these ex cricketers depend on the old boys club to keep them paid and in jobs.

That is where PCB needs to act. Most of these Ex cricketers have not achieved much themselves , and come and talk nonsense on media.

Imagine Hafeez talking about intent , Malik talking about spin bowling , Shoaib Akhtar talking about winning in ICC tournaments

No other team would have issues with Gary Kirsten in the coach. Its pathetic to see such a coach treated like this by PCB.
If you can't make it work with a coach like Kirsten then you truly have a hopeless cricketing structure and system. Going from Kirsten to Aqib is like trading in a muscle car for a rickshaw.

I still don't understand how could PCB lose both Kirsten and Gillespie.

They are among the best in the world.
It was a real disaster. Pakistan cricket has been through a lot but losing them was a moment of despair beyond what I've felt before. It felt like there is no going back after this. The final bridge had been burnt.

Naqvi knows nothing about cricket and fell for the propaganda that a head coach should be in the NCA daily. Propaganda fed by people like Aqib who swooped in to take the job.

Getting these two was a coup. Of all the boards including BCCI, PCB got the best combination of coaches.

And which head coach goes to NCA? He should have peaked across the border to see how different coaches head the NCA and national teams.

TBH I would trade Gillespie or Kirsten for GG in a heartbeat.

There we have it.

For Jason Gillespie to say this is something because he's a mild mannered invidual (probably too mild mannered for the Pakistan job) with barely a bad word to say about anyone.

Now we've heard it from the horse's mouth, you can't help but feel the CT debacle is a bit of karma for Aqib.

He made a mistake overhyping our pacers. However are we seriously saying a few months is enough for a coach, even seasoned ones like Gillespie and Kirsten, to turn around years of underperformance ?

PCB are unlikely to attract foreign coaches of a higher calibre or stature than those two. It was a coup hiring both of them - and a crime forcing both of them out.

Then Aqib should have suggested this to the head coach and team management, rather than usurping them at the first available opportunity.

The chairman is weak, that’s the main issue here. No matter what these ex-cricketers and some unhinged journalists try to whisper in his ear, he should be strong enough to stick to his decisions or not make stupid ones in the first place.

But aqib is still a master mind for creating spin pitches where as clown misbah and ramiz raja were creating flat tracks in pakistan.
This will gimmick will backfire soon now teams know what to expect when they come to Pakistan . Westindies already showed better planning then England and won a test I will not be surprised if Maharaj wins South Africa the series when they come in October these pitches are not sustainable strategy

The guy who lobbied for Kirsten’s ouster was Salman Butt

Aqib may have played his role In Gillespie’s ousting in Test but I don’t think he is right about the Kirsten exit

But still pakistan best bet for winning a series instead of those boring flat tracks where teams pile on runs and pakistan loose badly under score board pressure.

Kirsten's exit coincided with Aqib's arrival in the PCB as the defacto Chief Selector. Kirsten resigned in protest because the chairman removed the coaches from the selection panel and gave full authority to the chief selector.

Rana sahab what i loved about aqib how he dare to dropped two biggest players of pakistan rizbabar from t20 team jason or garry would never even dared to drop these 2 from t20 team they would have keep playing them.

Gary Kirsten proposes and finalises Mohammad Harris as Pakistan’s T20 captain

PCB formally announce Rizwan as captain

Kirsten resigns the same day squad is announced.

What does Aqib have to do with this?

Na Gary Kirsten was going to drop RizBar. He was going to go ahead with the squad announced for the Nz tour in T20s or something very similar to it.

I’m pretty sure 90% of those players were in Kirsten’s plans.

The only solution is not flat tracks or raging turners the pitches in 2021 vs South Africa were ideal tracks to win in Pakistan they can be produced not these lottery rubbish tracks which does not reward anything other then average spin bowlers

Why is the Gora always the honest one in our stories until proven otherwise and the Brown Munda the guilty one unless proven otherwise?

I wouldn’t draw any conclusions before getting to the bottom of this for which i would like to form a special cricketing committee headed by Misbah ul Haq, Mohd Hafeez and Rashid Latif.

Would love to see a court case where judges argue whether or not Aqib is a clown and the jury deliberates on this matter.
The accusation is:

“Aqib was clearly undermining Gary and I campaigning to be the coach in all formats”.

I hope he has ‘clear’ proof to this claim.

Lol the Brown Munda removed Rizwan and Babar from T20 so he’s the natural Antichrist

He can argue it was his perception and personal experience making it difficult to meet the threshold for defamation.

Best of luck. He can feel whatever he likes, but throwing it out there in public is open to libel. Up to Aqib if he wants to pursue it.

This is just scapegoating.

They both know they didn't spend enough time in Pakistan during their tenures.
That's the PCB line they've fed to their paid journos. Toxic employers always do character assassination in the media.

We need to find out were Kirsten and Gillespie contractually obliged to spend X amount of time in Pakistan ? Was this obligation also on previous overseas coaches ?

No other employer has ever had issues with either - only PCB have. What does that say ?

Kirsten resignation was very unfortunate. Very sad to see Pakistan lose a great cricketing mind like him.

Gillespie’s resignation is a bit of a grey area. His idea to go all out seam against Bangladesh and England (first Test) was extremely stupid. There is nothing wrong in calling a spade a spade.

On the eve of 2024 WC debacle, Kirsten delivered a tough message to players like Rizwan, Babar, Shaheen, and Rauf, emphasizing the need to upskill to remain relevant. He aimed to usher in a new era with Haris as T20I captain, and Haris and Fakhar as the opening pair—an approach that was difficult for the status quo to accept and absorb. His days were always numbered and he was an easy target because he was speaking up.

Jason was the same coach who had played the all out pace attack against Bangladesh in pakistan .

People's are seriously think he is good coach? Lol

No other team will Make him Head coach because he didn't have any good CV.

But yes Gary is top quality coach .

:kp

Completely disagree! Rana is a fantastic poster and actually one of the very few voices on this forum who gets cricket.
@Rana You were critical of the RizBabar opening duo long before anyone else saw the issues. The 80% of fans that @Major mentioned were laughing at that criticism are no longer laughing. The narrative on this forum has completely shifted, with the majority celebrating RizBabar’s axing yesterday. Maybe only 5% still disagree or find it amusing now.

They had agreed the amount of time they could spend outside of Pakistan per year.

Kirsten broke this agreement within the first 6 months.

After Mickey's zoom coach debacle, PCB wanted hands on coaches. The fact they advocated M Harris as T20 captain says it all really. They didn't even bother to learn about the players. No wonder they were removed as selectors.

Anyone from this forum would be able to provide more value.

Good from Jason to say that out loudly and blatantly , thats what needed ... He and Gary should have openly said that when being the coach would have sent these buffoons shivering down their spine...

The silence and quitting is what these leeches want and achieved it.. Wicked mentality of pulling the person down by backbiting and make their life in the job as uncomfortable as it gets , because they want that job but less qualified to hold than the one currently holding that post.. Thats what Naqvi , the PM and whoever else from that cult of lahore does it so neatly keeping a child face... Such a hypocrite and low level this fellow and his peers.
