What's new

Abrar Ahmed-Leg spinner from Karachi

Rashid latif discovered him and was saying he took him in U-19 tournament and he was one of highest wicket taker in the tournament , Rashid latif was sure he would be selected for Pakistan U-19 instead they picked Arsal sheikh who had more matches than wickets :yk

Should get a laser eye surgery to increase his chances to play for Pakistan u19 or first class

No risk should be taken if he is comfortable and satisfied with the procedings...
Not to mention i would rather go for Daniel Vettori than Mark Boucher given the Pakistani Medical Facilities

his bowling looks good to okay but can't completely pass the verdict because the low total meant no one had to really go after him.

he however needs to improve on a lot of other areas of his cricket including fielding. also, a spinner now should not be listed as a number 11 bat in a team. high time to get those things sorted out.

So far looks great but let's not jump to the conclusion and let him play few more matches especially the high scoring ones , tbf really impressed by his control and deceptive variation.

didn't see any good in his bowling, just remaining on the line was his target, variation was below average, was not spinning it at all!!!

Daddy's boy is more talented than Abrar.

arsal sheikh>>>>>>>>>>>>> Abrar Ahmed

a breath of fresh air.i hope he can develop into decent spin bowler fed up of hafeez and malik off spin bowling

Did not watch him bowling but if he is a right arm leggie, he should be a wrist spinner not finger spinner. If he bowls off spin, then a finger spinner.

moghul he is similar to Ajantha Mendis , so how does he become a leggie , he is mystery bowler and i heard rashid latif who discovered him saying he is a finger mystery spinner

2-28 today and impressed all especially Ian Bishop.
While others went for plenty Hassan Khan stood out. Genuine 18.
Hopefully you would be glad to see him succeeding. Hope He can emulate school cricket batting aswell.

JazaakAllah. I have a concern. His main ability was batting. Him not getting chances at number 6,7,8 will affect his batting massively. If you don't spend time in the middle your skill will be affected massively. If you don't use your arm for some days atrophy is the consequence. Same with skills of Allrounder.

Hassan and Shadab Khan are real finds.
Both potentially world class players.

It's too early to call them World Class but both have good attitude, work ethics and good enough skill sets. If they remain on right path and keep working hard they will do well InshaAllah.

Since Hassan Khan,s innings probably for Beaconhouse Karachi 4 years ago He hasn't got decent opportunities with the Bat even in Club and Zone Cricket of Karachi which is very disappointing.

Do watch Shadab & Amad Butt's interview with Ahmed Naqvi ie karachikhatmal :-)

Amad Butt needs to raise his game, he even has wasim akram as his coach/mentor temporarily. He has been average but it was one match and it could be discarded as anomaly

They have potential to be world class.

Hassan Khan has a fantastic head over his shoulders it seems, Looks fine striker and natural timer of the ball, Also bowling wise looks smart and accurate.

Shadab has flair, determination and looks like a fantastic leggy, Also shown glimpses of his batting potential in last match, Almost won ISLU the match single handedly.

Since Pakistan Cup his bowling mechanics are completely out. He has slowed down 5-7 kph and is not balanced at all which delivering the ball. Wasim can't do anything. A professional qualified bowling coach has to sit with a biomechanist or human movement expert after testing him in a equipped lab. Find the technical issues and than rectify them in Nets and replicate those changes in matches. Hit and trial won't work. Amad has more potential than any other Fast medium allrounder of Pakistan. Only Hussain Tallat comes close and he too has similar biomechanics issues like Amad Butt. We need high performance centres like Aus, Eng, NZ & SA to refine these guys and get max output from them. We can't just rely on an Asif or Waqar showing up one day from Sheikhupura or BoorayWaala. Both Amad & Hussain have the potential but have no professional help.

Is this lad finger spinner or wrist spinner? Remember he bowled quite well but got injured and usman khan shinwari made full use of his opportunity

Central Punjab v Sindh, KCCA Stadium, Karachi:

Sindh’s Abrar Ahmed added seven wickets to his tally on day two of his team’s Second XI Quaid-e-Azam Trophy first round fixture against Central Punjab after returning six for 66 on the opening day of the three-day contest.

I remember him playing PSL in 2017 and now he took 6/66 and 7/51 for Sindh 2nd XI in the first 3 day matcb

Great figures :vk1

Two T20 2nd XI matches he has played in this season

30/2
20/0

I remember him. Morgan was strugging to pick his variations in the PSL. He is not a leg spinner, he is an off spinner that can bowl googlies and mystery deliveries like Ajantha Mendis.

He mentioned in one of his interview that he is a finger bowler and also batsmen couldn't pick his LEG SPIN and GOOGLY.

Confused

Really rated this lad when i saw him in 2017 PSL. He is hard to pick and has brilliant variety.
shamaan search for karachi kings 2017 videos and you should find clips of his bowling

Abrar-ul-Haq bagged 13-wickets haul to help Sindh beat Central Punjab by three wickets in first round of QeA Trophy Second XI tournament.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 139 all out, 41.3 overs (Mohammad Haris 36, Mohammad Mohsin Khan 21, Musadiq Ahmed 20, Mohammad Sarwar Afridi 20; Abrar Ahmed 4-32, Shahnawaz 3-35, Aamer Ali 2-18) and 6-0, 1.5 over (Mohammad Naeem Snr 5 not out)

Abrar Ahmed is on fire.
Sindh's first xi will definitely need his services going forward, him and Md Ashgar will form a good spin combination for Sindh.

Round 2 of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for 2nd XIs

Abrar Ahmed continued an impressive run as his five for 44 led Sindh to their second win in the tournament. The leg-spinner finished the match with nine wickets and after the completion of the second round leads the chart for the bowlers with most wickets with 22 scalps at an average of just 8.77.

Looking at the poor level of Asghar these days, it won't be long before he goes into the full Sindh team.

seems to look up to sunil narine, and from his action looks to be bowling a mixture of finger spun leggies and googlies, interesting bowler, would love to see some new videos of his.

I havent seen much vidoes of him is he similar to narine mystery bowler ?

I wasn't too impressed by him in PSL 1, he was okay but he earned praise from Sanga and Mickey, but that was 4 years ago.

Is thier any vidoes ? Maybe the format? Well if Sanga is praising he must be decent.

Rashid Latif - Abrar Ahmed should be kept an eye on and backed by the Sindh selectors, I think he’s a good mystery spinner who should be developed and trouble batsmen at the international level. It’s hard to pick him as he’s a finger spinner, we should think about him with the World Cup in mind.

Abrar Ahmed 3-34 -today for Sindh in the 4th round of the QeA20 for 2nd XIs.

Should be promoted to the first XI so Aarish plays second XI. Plain and simple.
