he will score big today
What a selfish match loser
Shehzad scoring big is always bad for the team. Him getting out early not only increase so chances of winning a game but also a tournament. Case in point : CT 17

Yes Shehzads fault that Fakhar struggled and slowed things down in the powerplays when he was going at strike rate of 200.
True he should got out early so Pakistan would have struggled to get 160 in all 3 games this T20 series. Great logic
What a selfish run out. He should've relaxed instead of running himself out and worried more about his 100 then getting a stupid single for the team. What a selfish idiot
go easy with your ownage shak
ali asad is fuming at the moment![]()
Na. Don't really care. Shehzad fans actually deserve some respite after years of torture and ownage from normal cricket viewers. I'm actually happy for you guys

Poor Shehzad haters are having panic attacks. Shehzad looked good all these 3 games was just about time he went on to get a big score. Watching Shehzad and Fakhar bat today you can tell a difference between a people batsmen and a hit and miss player. If Shehzad struggled like Fakhar did today their would been threads made calling for his head.

He has always played for himself. I know he doesnt have the skills to be a LOI batsman, but he just doesnt try to hit big. Always tries to get to a score which keeps him in the team for the next match.
Today's innings was rare, because he has already cemented his place for the next series so he didnt care if he got out. This guy will lose us many important matches against top teams in the future.
Do Shehzad fans like you even have any shame? On the match thread you wanted Fakhar to be replaced by this mediocre batsman. Fakhar won us the champions trophy and has looked excellent so far. He is 5 times the batsman Shehzad is. Only these shameless Shehzad fans will even compare their hero to an actual aggressive, clutch batsman. But it's been obvious for years now that you lot don't even care a bit about the team, just like your hero.
and yet you were calling fakhar a rubbish hack before the ct
just shows your nil cricketing acumen.
no it wasnt rare
till he got to 40-50 he was playing slow and had a pathetic SR.
Only when he got over that he started to hit boundaries because he knew he's done okay for his average by then
btw its really nice to see Shehzadians jumping with joy like little girls here. Eid has come early
I think we should appreciate his innings for now and let them enjoy it. This is a VERY rare occassion for them so let them have it.
No criticism from me on this thread!
I was. And I was wrong... but I've been right about Shehzad for years now and he hasn't disappointed me yet

and he was so selfish that he risked a tight single (and got run out) instead of playing for his hundred
you also forgot that he killed a few puppies along the way. easily the worst t20 innings ever.

In the end the net effort of Shehzad was good. But like always he played for himself till he reached 60. Sorry but not good enough for me. Should put the team first.
I didn't mention Fakhar should be replaced by Shehzad. These both should be opening for us in limited overs. Was just pointing out that if Shehzad struggled like Fakhar did today their would been threads made calling his head. It's more like people like you that don't care about team. It don't bother me who makes the runs or get the wickets as long as Pakistan win but people like you always hoping some players don't do well as you don't like them even if that costs the team. Instead of praising his innings today we seen the amount of hate he still got. Just a bad day for his haters today![]()
do you think Shehzad should be opening over Azhar in ODIs?
do you think Shehzad should be opening over Azhar in ODIs?
If he plays ODI cricket exactly the way he approached these T20s, there is no reason why he shouldnt be in the mix to open. If he becomes complacent knowing he has more time, sorry he shouldnt be playing

Yes but I dont think it will happen going by history and he will have to earn that chance. For me it will take more than just 2-3 perofrmances against a mediocre attack to prove that.
The fact is that he has been taking us for a ride for EIGHT years so the margin of error is low and so is the patience.
He has given such false hopes before as well. At his bet he is a serviceable decent opener which means that we arent losing out on some world class talent.
His major problem is that when he goes up against good attacks (which this WXI attack most certainly wasnt) he goes into a shell and just blocks and blocks. There is nothing to prove he has overcome that.
And only in this innings today did he rotate strike well and play at a good rate epsecially near the end.
In last match he wasnt as good and his SR was just 125. And in the match before that he had a poor SR of 114. He didnt play like this all series.
Man Shehzad has always had a knack of these knocks... him and Babar Azam both cashing in big time on flat tracks.. both are similar sort of batsmen. Both have had the time of their lives on these wickets.
Maybe their style of play is suited to domestic tracks I guess, they look a different quantity on these wickets
Babar Azam

He's class in general.
Shehzad has played and failed in Australia (only teams he scored against were Uae and Ireland )Shehzad has a 100 in NZ Babar has none, Babar's two games don't compare to Shehzad playing 2-3 series in NZ..
Don't think Shehzad ever played in Australia, I may be wrong...
Ofcourse bring in the WI stats from Babar because that is the only place he performed in recent times...

What were you saying about WI?
Shehzad remains a mediocre batsman. He himself is to blame for missing out on a 100.
Agreed, in fact you don't even have to be a good batsman, nevermind a specialist one to succeed in this format. In the 50 over format, Shehzad will still struggle as he can't rotate the strike to save himself and has limited ability.
He can, but how long do we give him? been pretty poor for the last 3-4 years.

Please don't evade the subject.
What happened in WI and ZIM?
Yes chronic minnow basher... Shehzad and Babar go hand in hand.. stats will level out eventually
Ah, so we're predicting the future now.
I must admit I don't have that superpower.
BUT
Let's see Shahzad's stats after 31 ODIs to maintain the same sample size.
In SL: 8.80
In WI: 25.80
In ZIM: 27.66
In UAE: 37.12
Total AVG: 29.00
Please don't compare him to a guy averaging 53.
Yes we should totally compare a free run of 31 games to a guy who's first 31 games had him being chucked in and out of the side.. from 2010-13..
I know this is like Eid for Shahzadians so Ill let them enjoy it but lets point out one fact
The fact that Shehzad despite hitting 3 sixes off 3 balls at the death ended up with a similar SR as Babar Azam TELLS YOU EVERYTHING
Obv hitting three sixes off 3 balls is a rare occassion for him (check his SR) so we cant bank on it always. So it shows that overall he played a slow innings whereas Babar kept the pace up throughout.
Just feel bad for people who always criticize Shehzad and kept on doing it even with his two decent knocks in firs two games. Must be feeling bad today.
It's an open secret that Shehzad plays for his average - once he's accomplished then he starts hitting. What's more shamless than his selfish batting is I see the so-called "Shehzadians" ^^^ I see taking a swipe at Fakhar Zaman.
Bitter pill for his fan-boys to swallow are that had Shehzad not been replaced by Fakhar Pakistan would never have won the CT.
Fakhar is still very young in his career and does have issues against 140+ and playing the short ball but he should be persisted with for the following reasons:
1) Plays with positive intent selflessly for the greater good of team where he exerts pressure on the bowlers, so his fellow batters can feed off it
2)Supreme ability to hit spin and score boundaries on the offside against the pacers
3) One of the very few batsmen in Pakistan's history who can handle the big occasion as evident in the CT 2017 especially in the final where he remarkably found a way to deliver a match winning hundred when he was struggling in the first 10 overs or so...
4) One of the very few batsman in Pakistan currently who knows how to build an innings
Hope common sense will prevail and PPers see that his failures in these exhibition matches on some pancake wickets are really insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
RANT OVER
Which tests? Can you provide any evidence?
From what I know he fulfills the bare minimum requirement
