ahsan ali i think has best technique in young players coming through pakistan domestic , he played for larkana last year and won a match against star studded karachi dolphins single handedly and also he scored a double hundred in fc last year in his first season.

Remember him playing for Pak U19s in 2010 WC, went into wilderness for some time, surely is a very solid batsman
 
Very special player along with Babar Azam and Zeeshan Malik . Best 3 right hand batting prospects of pakistan .

I wonder where he was for 5 long years ? Does this sum up inept KCCA ? who wasted his 5 years ? Or he had to fight with parents 5 years ? And he did graduation on their saying and now is back to cricket field ?

He is classy with brains .

Zeeshan Malik? that rawal Pindi batsmen?
 
he can hit you out of park and is not predictable about it.this is the best thing I have noticed in him.

In One days when he wont be having a good day he looks like a batsmen who wont throw his wicket away and would gradually build his innings until finally improving his strike rate in couple of overs when set.I have seen this kind of attitude in austrailians e.g. finch and watson. you have to get them out. it doesn't matter if they are good or bad players.
 
If he is any good, he will make it to the international side coz he represents karachi and we know how much influence the karachi media has in lobbying for its players.
 
When these talented players e.g. IK jr,Iftikhar,Musaddeq will get a chance bored to death by not seeing any new player at international level.

Needs to lose the belly though.

It's sad that Karachi doesn't produce as many quality bats as it once used to. But then again whenever I go back to Karachi and play or watch gully cricket all I see are Afridi wannabes who the moment they come to the crease have a "leg slide slog" stance ready to go.

We probably have the strongest batting culture historically in Pak, if you can even call it that yet nothing to hone the talent. Really sucks we don't have something like the NCA in such a populous city. It's a mystery how Miandad came to be from here.

I have seen many proper players in streets. Some have good sweeps/pull as well, most dont consider it as a viable career, which is understandable with the way PCB works (domestic performers decay in domestics and hacks with sifarishis come along)

Spot on mate, many talented guys jst sacrifice their cricket to earn a living. If the job security and pay is as good as Australia or England. I am 100% convinced we would always be in the top 2 teams of the world. But maybe there are pros and cons of each setup, we get the talent they get the system.

He is officially 21 years and 320 days old. One of the rare gifted players in our domestic . Google ahsan ali ubl and see videos of his shots at his social media page. Also watch his 76 runs innings in last T20 tournament where he almost chased 200 plus for his side.

He , Saud shakeel and Saad Ali are the best batting potentials from khi and sindh. Plays shots all round the wicket using timing and placement. String offside play aswell. Beautiful cover drive aswell.

I dont know what prompted them to drop such a promising player with such a Good defence and all the shots in his armoury. A clutch player.

I hope I am wrong and he is in any squad.

I couldnt see that 76 but did see a bit of him in the matches he played thereaafter once I saw u hyping him a bit.

He surely looked a very good batsman. someone who can hit big against spinners, pacers alike using cricketing shots

Has time to play against fast bowling which is something I always love watching in a batsman

At this stage of his career, playing for his region would have been more fruitful for him. He would have got maximum games.

Younger players needs to make sensible choices. Better to play for region rather than warming bench for departments.
 
After the departure of kamran Akmal and nasir jamshed for BPL finally Ahsan Ali gets a game. Thanks God.

At the start of the season Kamran Akmal captain of NBP gave 2 FC games to Hamza Paracha as opener ahead of Ahsan Ali. Hamza averages mighty 20.77 in 29 Fc games.

Even after dropping Hamza from playing eleven after 2 games kamran did not select Ahsan Ali who has a maiden Fc ton a double Ton the next 2 games and it took Ahsan Ali to get a game after 4 Fc matches of season have gone only after captain kamran Akmal has left for BPL.

I wish and pray for the youngster. Hope he does well I.A

Refer to my post above. Not Kamran's fault. Players should stop chasing departments.

He averages 15.1 in the remaining 10 innings. Exactly the type of player we don't need.

He played a whole season for UBL last year. He got a better offer from NBP recognising his ability and he joined them.

Is it right to get promoted from regional to departmental cricket and get back to regional cricket ? That would be stupid. He isn't under 19 player either. He is 22 years old.

Same can be said about Babar Azam if you remove his one innings of 260 runs . Does that make him a bad player ?

10 innings over a period of 4 years is not a good sample size.

Should have looked the bench of NBP before going for them. Even UBL dropped him after signing star players.

Not stupid unless you are warming the bench.
 
Last chance for Ahsan Ali in QEA trophy. Very Important game for him. A century and a win for NBP will bring him in limelight for PSL and will draw franchises interest plus he will be retained by NBP for next season.

If he fails than NBP may release him this season and with an average of 27 no departmental team will have any interest in signing him next season plus he won't make PSL aswell.

So a Do And Die pressure game for him. Where success and failure weigh very heavy impact.

Nasir jamshed missed today's game due to the birth of his child a day ago. This could ne the reason I guess if he is not unfit.

Ahsan Ali again got a golden opportunity. He opened the innings and scored 3 runs of 5 balls. Caught by zain ul abidin of the bowling of Yasir ararat.


Another great oppurtunity missed yaarrr.
 
Quality batsman. Hope someone influential in Karachi spots him and takes him under his wing.

No talent... Everyone fails when it comes to international level. They either get out on first ball or do tuktuk like its a test match!
 
i think he is in pressure because he isnt getting enough chances , last he was in UBL he was playing regularly he scored 200 on debut in fc and we saw on tv his talent in t-20 cup.

He has got enough Fc and list A games this season. He was lucky that kamran and nasir went for BPL and Nawaz for Pakistan A still he could not capitalise.

He along with Babar Azam are purists like Saeed Anwar & Mohammad Yousuf but No performances at all from his side which is baffling for me.

Hamza Paracha scored a century in round games and was rested for last game to give ahsan ali another chance and he scored 28 of 29 balls while opening with kamran with 5 fours. What do you think he will be benched for semifinal with Hamza replacing him ?
 
Survived initial overs unlike nasir & Hamza paracha.

Was playing very well but again 23 (28) and perishes.

Technique, Balance, Stance has no value in Pakistan vs Limited Overs.

Since Asad Shafique has failed miserably so everyone after him will fail.

T20 mentality in Pakistan wrt openers is that

1. Who has high % age of sixes in his scoring shots.

2. Who can hit longest sixes.




This guy has the following T20 record.

His highest T20 score is 76 runs of 46 balls with 7 overs and 4 sixes and it came while chasing a total of 198 against Sialkot Stallions where he got out in the 16th over and Karachi lost that match by 7 runs.

He has played few List A & Fc games in last 4 years and has only one Fc hundred which was a double hundred scored as a 20 years old with a score of 224. One of the youngest players to score FC double hundred in Pakistan domestic cricket.

No. There is only one video of him playing cut against pacer on his Facebook.

It is so unfortunate that his innings of 76 is neither available on PP nor on YouTube etc. It was simply a treat to watch. There is only one clip of him playing a flick of his pads straight to midwicket .

Yes he has played for Larkana bulls and Karachi whites. Don't know he is from Karachi or any other city of Sindh.

He has also played 2 seasons for UBL and 1 season for NBP.

No he is not in radar of selectors, thick tank or NCA.

Yes that's the one I seen plus another one.

Plays some nice looking shots.

At the moment he looks more suited to t20s.

Ahsan Ali's been batting at a strike rate of 75 in first class cricket which is too high for him.
Needs to slow down a touch to somewhere between 60.

Most of our Fc wickets are nightmare for openers. This is why I rate Naeemuddin's achievements alot.

I think Ahsan gets games on and off hence he is not very relaxed at the crease.

Thanks God he doesn't slog ALHAMDOULILLAH.

Naeem being 34 now don't think the pak selectors will give him the opportunity.

Has been the best opener in Pakistan domestics for a few seasons+ averages 40+ in List A cricket but is yet to score a thousand runs.

Fitness shouldn't be a concern in tests. If we can hide Zulfiqar, we can hide anyone. Besides it's a short term fix.

Anyway, if by some miracle he is selected it would be best for Pakistan.

Once again brother there is a video of him on facebook, its about 2 minutes and shows his boundaries.

Plays mostly straight drives with a few cover drives and cuts.

One of the selectors who is also a coach of a deapermental team is also on twitter.

Also ask them to watch some of his batting videos on National Bank Cricket Team Facebook page to judge his technique & style of Play.

I shall be grateful. After all there will be Bhala of Pakistan in it.

Let's bring this guy in Radar. He deserves it atleast in T20 cricket for the moment.
