2003, mostly Brett Lee bailed the Aussies out from tough situations. Then you had Tendulkar throwing away his wicket chasing 360 and we never heard the end of it. Wow great job getting Sachin’s wicket while defending 360 runs in a World Cup final. What an achievement.

2007, Pakistan and Bharat got knocked out early. The only teams who could have knocked the Aussies out. Again, Aussie batters totally dominated the whole World Cup allowing McGrath to do his typical thing. Bowl 10 overs right defending huge totals. What a great achievement.

Sachin is locked in. Sehwag won't make the cut. To me, it's a shootout between Jayasurya and Rohit. I am inclined in favor of Jayasurya for his AR chops and simply the trailblazer he was for both the opening role, the success he brought for his team and how he turned them into a fearsome unit at his peak. Rohit is probably better as a pure bat but loses out when other factors are counted.

Number 4 has four serious contenders - Yuvi, Sanga, Aravinda, and Inzi. Sanga perhaps the best bat and the best record but he won't be the keeper in Dhoni's presence. Sanga also lacks that top attacking gear unlike Yuvi. Aravinda and Inzi also have a credible claim but neither were as attacking as Yuvi. Yuvi also brings his superb fielding and SLA bowling to the table. Yuvi takes that position.

Depending on the pitch and opponent, one of Hardik or Afridi as the allrounder.

Selection Criteria : 2 Openers, 1 No 3, 2 Middle Order, 1 Wicket Keeper, 2 All Rounders, 1 Spinner, 2 Fast Bowlers. India has this perfect formula 2+1+2+1+2+1+2, For Pakistan I went with 2+1+1+1+3+1+2 formula as they have an Extra Allrounder in Imran Khan and a Lower order batsman Wasim who can bat. So both have good balance in every department.
