So, I was looking at the all time test records of the Asian teams in SENA and it turns out that all the Asian teams have a W/L ratio of less than 0.5, which is pretty poor to be honest.

Pakistan Played 138 Won 29 Lost 69 Drawn 40 (W/L ratio of 0.420)

India Played 155 Won 22 Lost 83 Drawn 50 (W/L ratio of 0.265)

Sri Lanka Played 67 Won 8 Lost 43 Drawn 16 (W/L ratio of 0.186)

Bangladesh Played 21 Won 0 Lost 21 Drawn 0 (W/L ratio of 0.00)

If you only look at the test records of the Asian teams in Australia and South Africa, it is even worse. Here India has the best W/L ratio of 0.256

India Played 68 Won 10 Lost 39 Drawn 19 (W/L ratio of 0.256)

Pakistan Played 52 Won 6 Lost 38 Drawn 8 (W/L ratio of 0.157)

Sri Lanka Played 30 Won 3 Lost 24 Drawn 3 (W/L ratio of 0.125)

Bangladesh Played 8 Won 0 Lost 8 Drawn 0 (W/L ratio of 0.00)

Lol, Bangladesh has lost all their matches in SENA.

Pakistan have a really poor record in Australia and South Africa, although their record in England and New Zealand is much better. India have a similar record in Australia and South Africa to the record they have in England and New Zealand. Sri Lanka have an extremely poor record overall in SENA and Bangladesh is yet to win a test match in SENA countries.

Some time back India's record of W/L was very similar or worse to Sri Lanka I think, perhaps 5-6 years ago. It has improved now.

Pakistan has an impressive record in England and New Zealand. India's record is decent in South Africa and Australia. Sri Lanka were going fine till 2015.

Also add Windies also.

India have a W/L ratio of 0.256 in OZ and SA combined, hardly decent though the rest of the teams are even worse. If you also include West Indies then the records are as follows.

Pakistan Played 164 Won 36 Lost 81 Drawn 47 (W/L ratio of 0.444)

India Played 206 Won 31 Lost 99 Drawn 76 (W/L ratio of 0.313)

Sri Lanka Played 76 Won 10 Lost 47 Drawn 19 (W/L ratio of 0.212)

Bangladesh Played 29 Won 2 Lost 26 Drawn 1 (W/L ratio of 0.076)

I mean from an Asian player point of view (since Aus-SA have been always strong or most often). It's not impressive but still decent.

When you include WIs, not much change but Bangladesh opens their win account.

I think BD's those wins came against a fourth string Windies side, when most of the WI players were on a strike.

Surely the ranji trophy needs to be revamped.
Just not good enough with all the resources.
The 50 plus averages in that competion are highly misleading.
Gotta do better than an understrength Lanka.

Lol, don't get overexcited. Pakistan's losses in SENA will also be increasing in a couple of weeks time.

This Indian side is one of the best ever in their history, but still has a very poor record in SENA. Shows how much India struggles overseas.

Their current batting line up is poor but yes this is one of the better ones. Prolly the best bowling attack they've had.

Yes, Indian team of 2000's had much better batting but weaker bowling, but they did much better in SENA than the Indian team of 2010's including the present one.

Pakistan's record is pretty good in England.

In Australia, Pakistan's record is embarrassing and the less said, the better.

I feel sorry for Bangladesh who have to be mentioned every time Asian countries are compared in records.

This needs to be addressed urgently. Pakistan need to go all out and find them a coach+staff who are going to prepare them for their hardest obstacle and that is to compete in Australia (physically and mentally).

Yes its unfair on Bangladesh, but their 100 % losing record in SENA is identical to Pak's record record in Aus since 1999.

We only drew 3 games. This means when we lose, we lose bad and don't show any fight, especially against Australia/South Africa.
We are decent in NZ/England.

India have won 5 tests out of 37 played. They played 13 more tests than us and won the extra one.
Lost 25 and drew 7 (some of these draws could have been won by proactive captaincy).

https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/e...2011;spanval1=span;template=results;type=team

These are facts. India just had their greatest decade and we just had our worst decade with likes of Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzas as test players.

I wish there was a stat for dropped catches.

In their last 37 matches in SENA, which is the same number of matches, India have played in SENA since 2011, Pakistan have won 7 tests, 2 more than India's 5.

Wow. An eye opening stat for many people who start 'the Rona Dhona™' each time we lose a random T20I.

I hope Misbah and Waqar try to build core of 5 decent / world class players. We already have 2: Babar and Shaheen and we need 3 more, 1 opener, 1 wicketkeeper and 1 bowler...
