Minutes after Muttahida Qaumi Movement workers stormed ARY News office in Karachi for not providing the party with ‘due media coverage’, Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chairman Mustafa Kamal termed the attack a result of Altaf Hussain’s hate speech.
At least one person was killed and several others injured as protesters clashed with police in Karachi’s Saddar area on Monday evening.
According to PSP chief, Altaf uttered abuse against Pakistan’s existence, the army chief and DG Rangers in one of his hate speeches.
“You will see the MQM chief apologising soon and his followers telling you that he regrets his statements,” Kamal told reporters, adding Altaf is under the influence of alcohol during his speeches.
“Today’s incident proved whatever we have been saying all along,” Kamal said. “The MQM is working against humanity and future generations of the country.”
The former Karachi mayor reiterated that Altaf wanted people to get killed and arrested so he could complain about them and forward his own interests.
He asked MQM workers and other members of the Urdu-speaking community to “discontinue working for Altaf and foil his designs against the state”.
PSP chief repeated that Altaf was working for India and taking funding from the country to collude and work against Pakistan.
He termed MQM’s hunger strike camp and a farce, saying it did not include any prominent leaders of the party.
“A drama was staged wherein a number of people, excluding prominent leaders, claimed to be on hunger strike,” said the PSP chief.
