And the fittest cricketer is?

From Pakistan amir, malik and Rizwan are fit. Others either look fatty or too weak...

Pakistan :

1. Muhammad Rizwan

2. Kamran Ghulam

3. Fawad Alam

4. Agha Salman

5. Rehan Afridi

6. Saifullah Bangash

7. Shehzad Azam Rana

8. Mohammad Amir

What's the criteria that you have used.

I know that Muhammad Rizwan had a good score in the Yo Yo test but what about the others.

For Amir endurance & stamena. For others their physique and weight. Physical appearance, running & fielding.

Sub se berh k flat tummies something which you cannot associate with national team players barring 1 or 2

MS Dhoni. I don't know which year was this but he played over 100+ matches within a single year from what I've heard from a commentator.

Ms dhoni alistar cook nd Mike Hussey are 3 since I have been watching cricket

At 38, Dilshan is still the fittest cricket. He still runs much faster than most of his 24 year old punks in his team. His fielding is still top notch.

IMO the fittest cricket in recent years was Kapil Dev. For Pakistan, Imran Khan and Wasim Akram were also very fit. Currently, Muhammad Sami is the fittest bowler in Pakistan. The guy can run in all day long and never get tired.

I guess instead of looking at player's muscles, a better way could be something like

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pXXbXNrpwt8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Wow great video and to top it all this guy was a diabetic.... Amazing athlete Wasim akram

On topic has to be MSD..... Virat is right up there too along with Jadeja,Dhawan,Ishant who is pretty fit.

Sorry to say this but no one from Pak team qualify to complete with the fitness levels of the current day cricketing world.

Afridi is remarkably fit for his age

No he's not, Jonty Rhodes and Collingwood are far fitter despite being retired. Afridi in modern cricket terms is FAT!!

He's just come to the crease and is so stiff taking the second, he's slow to turn around, can'd run fast and has completely lost his breath. Even the indian fielders can be seen mocking how slow he is.

Misbah and Younis are way fitter than Afridi, the guy wont last a 5 day test and he knows that himself.

Pakistani standards:
- YK
- Misbah
- Malik
- Shehzad
- Wahab
- Rizwan

Everyone else
- Gayle
- Kohli
- Dhoni
- Dale Steyn
- Cook
- Martin Guptill
- ABD
- Dhawan
- Andersen
- Southee

Gayle comes across as very slow and lazy, not very fit...struggles to run between wickets especially

Kohli is probably the fittest cricketer in the history of subcontinent cricket.

For his time Imran Khan was well ahead of his contemporaries in terms of fitness

MSD is the fittest for his age but he can't compete with mah buoy Virat :msd

Always thought Sanga was a great example of being in supreme shape even in his late 30s.

Kamran ghulam is fitter than any player of subcontinent including kohli.

Have u seen the guy's physique. He is ripped. Isn't very tall though.

Fitness is not equal to being ripped or having a great physique, have you seen watson's physique? Kohli is easily the fittest cricketer in the history of subcontinent, not even close

Jadeja and Kohli from India. 3 years back I wouldve mentioned Steyn as probably the fittest cricketer but nowadays he's always injured.

Dhoni is probably the fastest cricketer between the stumps minds you.....absolutely rapid

Have you seen kamran ghulam play, run, field etc etc?

kapil dev....no other fast bowler that too an allrounder can play 131 test matches without getting injured...
he did miss 1 test but not because of injury...being the lone fast bowler he also had to bowl long spells from one end

Well its him because of whom your Virat is able to take two runs instead of one. And remember his Mustafizur run out. Ran like anything.

Virat was taking twos after batting for 8-10 overs and msd had just come in, still msd was out of breath while running with Virat :msd

Hmm... But see MSDs age now. Still he is very very strongly built. His fitness levels are very very high.

Phaast Bowler...heh

Pehle usse international cricket mein aane do then compare him with Kohli lol, he can't afford Kohli's fitness level

So you havent seen him and are commenting on him? Lol
And He doesnt need to "afford" anything. He is naturally more fit than kholi :yk

You are confusing with speed and endurance.

He may not have speed but has tremendous stength and endurance.

At one point - he was playing cricket in all 3 formats as well as IPL.

He has also scored big in every format of the game.

YK and Malik would run him close.

Maybe even Wahab who has high fitness as well as being muscular.

Agreed. He should be honored for this.

Well, if you're talking about the fittest cricketers, then I would think that speed and agility is a non-negotiable attribute. :abdv

AB, the most fittest in the world

Not really.. Workload, Captaincy responsibility, huge expectations from him post retirement of Smith, kallis and downfall of Steyn.. his fielding has gone down and pressure is on for winning something for his team.

Lol comparing Kohli to a nobody from pak domestics :)))

:))) are u for real or deliberately acting weird? Lmao why can't i compare the physiques of two guys? I am not comparing their cricketing abilities. I can compare kohli's physique to any random guy on the street if i think a comparison can be made.

Are you deliberately trolling? How can you compare fitness level of some random nobody to one of the fittest cricketers in international cricket, how is he fitter than Kohli if you have not seen him running against some of the best fielders in the world, there is a big difference in domestics and internationals, don't act weird

You have no clue what you are saying. You don't even make sense.

As Dhoni said, you need explosive power along with endurance in cricket. There is a lot of rest in between deliveries in cricket.

But IPL > and more important than ICC WT20

The irony

Why is that? Pressure isn't a physical weight on their shoulders, is it?

Because that's where your body faces most pressure, when you have to compete with the best in the world, the way dhoni and kohli were stealing doubles against aussie fielders, I doubt anyone else could have done that, on a few cricketers in the world can match kohli at the moment, so I wouldn't even compare (let alone put ahead :))) ) some domestic nobody with kohli

Running between the wickets isn't the only judge of fitness, what about playing long innings in Tests ala Cook or :amla?

Logic fail . Good running between the wickets depends on both the batsmen at the crease. Kohli alone couldnt have taken those singles and doubles could he?
Being a typical fan boy ,You have moulded your definition of fitness to suit your players :yk

You are a typical fan boy without any logic, make a poll here and see how every one laughs at you :yk

Lol people will only laugh at you for suggesting something like this :yk Because everybody and their dog knows that it all comes down to popularity. People can only rate who they know. If i know 2 players and you know only 1, i can compare the two and then come to a conclusion while you would declare the sole player you know as winner.

Well, Kapil Dev! He never missed a single match due to fitness issue during his playing days

Oh please give us your sound logic as to why your "nobody" is fitter than kohli? :yk2

Didn't watch much of him but how fit was Allan Border? Holds the record for the most consecutive tests at 153 which is a hefty achievement of which Cook is the only player who can dream of reaching right now given his current streak of 124.

Us?? :))) How many people are you representing here? Or does involving others give you moral support? :yk
Nah man, I would have given a logic if someone who can comprehend it was asking. :afridi

Diverting the topic now, running away :afridi, okay tell "me" your logic or is there no logic at all :yk

:))) so this your "argument"? Rather childish of you as always :)) If i dont tell u the logic, there is no logic at all? If i dont tell you the reason why tendulkar is a great batsman, there is no reason at all? See, it works both ways :yk
