Arsenal FC | 2025/26 Season

Credit to Rice and Merino as well for their contributions in the lead up to equaliser.

That's one way for Rice to shut up his critics.

Huge 3 points.

Espcially as Liverpool are away to Chelsea next week.

Arsenal need to smash west ham next week

Great result. Lost our way after the pathetic penalty decision. Were the better team overall.

Rice was great at the end and Big Gabi to the rescue. How's that for mentality eh... One of toughest places to go to.

Special shout out to merino to made a difference.

Wonder if GA secretly celebrated when merino scored 🤭

Maybe he is celebrating throw ins with Bruno G. He's so cringe sometimes.

Shout out to the ref to. I think it was a pen at the end to when it hit Bruno hand.

The 1st one I still want an apology eventhough we won.

It's sickening losing a game late on but overall Arsenal were the better team and deserved the win

Pope was really good but lost the plot at the end which ultimately cost us

Also, losing is never nice but if at the end of the season this loss means The Rat doesn't win the league then I'll not mind it so much

@Technics 1210 are you happy if the Rat wissa doesn't won league 🤭😉

Well, there's no danger of that happening 🤣🤣🤣

Also, since you ask, I am intrigued, @Technics 1210 what is the general feeling of the fans towards Wissa?
General feeling is one of - he's a tosser.

Don't begrudge anyone moving one but he lost respect when he threatened not to play when Bees weren't selling.

Can't wait to see him in Toon shirt at the G-Tech, he'll get his verbal medicine!

guys like Gabriel, Saliba, Rice, Saka don’t have the chops. It’s not always about the manager. He folded like a deck of cards.

This lot is not winning the league under any manager.
Talk about the assist for the equaliser and the winner....

Probably didn't even watch the game

Congrats @topspin @MK7Z @frenchcut (don’t know who you are but anyway) on solidifying the second place.

Forever the bridesmaid this lot of nearly players.

Guys like Rice, Saliba, Gabriel, Saka would have looked right at home at Poch’s Spurs.

I have 0 faith in these players when it comes to winning the league. This season is yet another edition of them letting the manager and the fans down.

I did but I wish I didn’t, because I wished I never saw Gabriel folding like a sissy for the Newcastle goal.

Newcastle were really poor today and Arsenal got lucky. It’s a good 3 points but what is the point (pun intended) of celebrating it when we know that they are not winning the league.

😂😂😂😂

Hell will freeze before a team carrying Declan Rice in midfield wins the Premier League or the Champions League or the World Cup or the Euros.

Winning third tier trophies with West Ham was his level.

Imagine having the budget to spend £100m on one player and you blow it on Declan Rice. My god.

Is this some sort of weird tactic?

You spent years saying they will win and they won nowt

Is the approach now to call them losers and hope they win?

I am confident Berta wouldn’t have blown £105m on Rice. He knows what proper players look like.

There is no way Edu would have brought Gyokeres, Eze and Zubimendi in the same window.

He would probably have satisfied his Sesko fetish and signed some average players from Brazil, or maybe spammed Newcastle’s inbox to Bruno G although I would probably take him over the glorified £105m Henderson.

Mask slips off once again. This is a comment I would expect from a Chelsea fan.

No other gooner in this planet, who knows ball would hate on any of them. It's mental what you're saying here about all four them.

Another u-turn lol but at least you've come to terms that Edu was a liability.

@Amjid Javed @MK7Z and I did tell you.

It is none of that. I have lost hope in the core group of players who have been around for several seasons now and have let the manager and the club down season after season.

I am also frustrated by the fact that Arsenal fans don’t have the cojones to hold the likes of Rice, Saka, Saliba, Gabriel accountable and act as if it’s all Arteta’s fault and another manager would come in and take these players over the line.

This is not a Premier League or a UCL winning core. I have given up on this team and I am only interesting in watching what guys like Gyokeres, Eze etc. do once they are fully acclimatized.

As far as the rest of the players are concerned, we know how the story ends.

The mask has not just dropped but been slapped of her face...

Advice: Ignore the troll

Please show me their Premier League medals.

Edu did really well to take the squad from 8th to 2nd. He obviously did a lot of good things in the window which propelled Arsenal from 8th to 2nd in two seasons. However, he messed up the last two windows big time.

The decline/stagnation of Arsenal was kickstarted in summer of 2023 when they wasted £105m on a donkey and then wasted the next summer as well.

Players like Gyokeres, Eze etc. should have been signed a year ago.

Berta came in at the right time but he needs to realize that the core of the squad needs to be dismantled. It’s not a case of adding final jigsaw to the puzzle as a lot of people think; the jigsaw itself needs to be scrapped.

I agree with @Amjid Javed on the point that these standards shouldn’t be accepted, but he has got it wrong — he thinks the manager is the issue, but it is actually the core set of players that are the issue and have let the manager down for multiple seasons.

Biggest reasons for Arsenal being a nearly team (in no particular order):

1. Rice has a low technical level and he is the main culprit for Arsenal not having creativity and fluidity. You can’t be a crisp passing team and move the ball quickly when you have someone in midfield who is so bang average on the ball.

He’s a typical overrated English midfielder with a look busy but do nothing style of play. He is lucky City didn’t win the bidding war in 2023 otherwise he would have become Kalvin Phillips 2.0.

I am hopeful that Berta would address this next summer — he seem ruthless enough to make tough calls, and he has spent years as an executive in La Liga and knows what a proper midfielder looks like and Rice isn’t even close to being one.

2. Saka is a very good player but he hasn’t developed into a killer wide player that he should have.

He is reliable and consistent, but 3-4 years earlier, you would have expected him to become a player like Salah, Dembele, Yamal, Raphina etc., someone with flair and a magic touch that teams fear. That didn’t happen because he doesn’t have that kind of talent.

3. Martinelli has been dog**** for 2 years but has survived accountability for too long. He should have been sold or reduced to a sub role long ago.

4. Saliba and Gabriel are solid but they are no Keown-Adams or Ferdinand-Vidic or Terry-Carvalho. They fold very easily against quality attackers.

They are lucky to be playing in an era where there is a dearth of quality strikers in the PL. Haaland is the only top quality striker and he dominates them 9/10 times.

I wouldn’t break this partnership up because the market for defenders isn’t very fertile right now, but if there is a big offer on the table to Saliba and he wants to go, let him go. It’s not like you’ve won the league with him.

Take that money and invest it smartly and you won’t miss him. By smart investment, I mean not dumping £105m on a player like Rice.

The first 35 minutes was best attacking football Arsenal played interms of fluidity in a long time. Gyokeres hold up play and movement was good. But most of all its because Arsenal played high risk football, yes there were few missed placed passes and also a few give aways. But you could see visually the chances created. No on needs this XG nonsense. The number of saves Pope made showed how much of a threat we were.

Yes the 2nd half was poor. Until the subs. However, the subs did make good impact. Similar to Man city game.

Same line up starts vs West ham, what Arteta can't do is revert to bringing players back in once they are so called fit. You earn your place back and that includes the Odegaard.

Eze showed what a better number 10 looks like with ball progression, also in finding space in pockets and actually creating stuff. Plus competition for places actually makes players up their game which is needed

Jesus. You are in Pole position to win the title. By next weekend you could well be Top.

You Gooners fan base are flip flopping merchants. Everyone of you have thrown in the towel, and yet were only SIX games in to the season lol

No on needs this XG nonsense.

xG isn’t perfect, but it helps show how good the chances were — not just the scoreline. It adds context, not a replacement for what happened.

A team can lose 1–0 but create better chances, and xG helps reflect that. It’s just one tool to understand performance better.

Most top clubs use xG and related models internally. It’s not just for football nerds.
