Arsenal FC | 2025/26 Season

Cry more Rivals. Set Piece FC. Own Goals FC. Well we went one better. They scored an own goal from a set piece. Without an Arsenal player in sight.

Rivals must be foaming at the mouth.

Oh and the champions got how many points against " Only Leeds"???

Calma everyone calma.

We are the leagues top scorers nobody cares where they are from apart from salty rivals.

At the end of the day, results matter, sure, to win and play great football would be ideal but winning is the key bit.

If Arsenal win the title, they would have deserved it, none of these silly caveats like City were poor or Liverpool were poor etc.

I do like a well organised defence, a throwback a bit, it is an art- it is this playstation generation or footy manager generation that have do not have the capacity to appreciate it.

Madueke is talented. Just watch a highlight reel of his time in Chelsea. The first half of what he does is great. Can beat a man, fast, good dribbling. It’s just the poor end product and decision making. There’s definitely a player there. However I feel it will be the same problem with Martinelli (who’s less talented), but he’ll be even worse. But then again Martinelli has been given a lot of time at Arsenal to fix those issues, yet feels worse now than early on in his career.

I’m probably going to get hate for this. But I just don’t see him as a below average talent. There is a player there, even though we probably won’t see the best of him. And when Saka isn’t having the best of his seasons, it’s hard for me to go on in a player with genuine ability who hasn’t had a long time at Arsenal yet. The Chelsea system is very hard to excel in.

The only player in the squad and I look no I don’t think he doesn’t have the ability or talent to work with is Gyokores.

Even Oodegaard, I do think he has ability. It’s more that he’s a player that belongs more to a past era. I think he could play more as a 10, but that role has died in modern day football. Now he’s more of an aggressive presser which he has adapted to somewhat but you could probably find someone better to do that job. But then you also kind of respect that he’s changed his game to carry out what the manager has told him to do. I think Eze is in a similar problem, and I think there was a reluctance to play exactly how the manager wants him to play. Which is probably why Oodegaard is still preferred. But I’m not sure either are the best fits for the role Arteta now wants in that team. But do I think either Eze or Oodegaard very good players in a different system? Yes I do.

Gyokores is kind of different. I think you could focus the team around Gyokores and he’ll still struggle. And his struggles aren’t mainly from the system (though perhaps it doesn’t help). Poor positioning, touch, speed, not enough space given from opposition defenders. I think those things will cause him to struggle no matter what formation or tactics are played in premier league. I think he’ll do better in champions league but the way English teams set up in premier league, I think it’s going to very difficult for a player like Gyokores to succeed.

--- Wayne Rooney left Everton, got married, had three kids, won 16 trophies, lost his hair, got a transplant, became Man United’s all-time top goalscorer, went back to Everton, moved to MLS, came back and managed Derby, got relegated, went to Birmingham and got sacked, went to Plymouth and got sacked again, became a pundit… and in all that time, Arsenal still haven’t won the Premier League. ---

Could. Not. Resit. 😜

Plucking random comments from a fan of a club can work both ways.... not sure what it proves, really? If anything, it shows a neediness for reinforcement or acceptance/validation of some sort... I do not think Gooners need that this season....

Vast majority of Liverpool fans have been bitter that Arsenal are top currently.

These and other comments are evidence of it. You have other Liverpool fans begging for man city to win title, other fans celebrating their rivals (united) beating Arsenal. Zero focus on their Own failings. We've seen this behaviour on this forum as well

Yes it does. Either you're oblivious to the comments that were made by your friend or you're pretending to be.

He's full aware of it, I mentioned it to him before when I called out certain Liverpool supporters. He's even joined in with the Arsenal are bottler jibes etc.. because its nearly "Ramadan". Seems people are going to pretend to be civilised for a short period of time.

And don't forget comments such as "this would be the worst team to win the league". That's the reason why I posted this in this thread because that's what kingbaqwas continues to parrot on here but not for the first time, GOSH doesn't understand the context behind it.

"Arsenal would be the worst team to win the league" has been said by kingbaqwas on numerous occasions so hard to miss it really.

A lot of fans are being salty like this.

However, some fans last season were discrediting Liverpool winning title Last season complaining about VAR, injuries etc..

There will always been people in everyone fan base who will be salty, rather then face reality

Vast majority... i guess statistics was not your strong point at school back in the day... vast majority... sure

Arsenal bottler jibes- no jibes... sorry, but it is out there.

Shprt periods of civilisatoon are better than none... i know that you loved to judge... judge away

Arsenal fans seem.to want to take out years of frustration and literally have other fanbases bow to them on what looks like one good season... not sure that logic flies but it is apparent on here

Cudnt careless about any of the other fixtures this weekend. We won our games, it's in Arsenal hands to win it or throw it away.

Liverpool fans dancing for city last week dejected this week.

Told everyone calma...
Man United are closer to Man city than Man City are to Arsenal.

Think about that. Anfield next week. It's only gonna get harder for them.

Arsenal just do your job and the rest will take care of itself

The Brentford right back is Arteta dream signing. Boys got a throw on him and he is a live wire. Koyode is it? I'm partly serious 😂

Imagine we added him to our set piece threat!

Been saying for weeks that City will drop points to both Spurs and Liverpool

The gap is going to be quite healthy after the next game
Yup I've said pretty much the same. Disappointed at defeats but just keep racking up points and everything gonna be alrite.

If we get to the carabao cup final and play that fixture early and Man city don't play till way later.... Could be a big impact in the grand scheme of things.. if we win that is

Arteta is looking to Replace Raya 1st with Benfica keeper 🤭😉 he wants a keeper that can score from set pieces

He constantly posts on this thread about how "Arsenal would be the worst side to ever win the league". Now that Arsenal have had a good weekend, he'll go missing until we drop points.

This is why it's important to understand the problem around here before making assumptions and getting into beef with other posters. AJ and MK7Z never had any beef with you but you've decided to stick your nose into a fight which was never yours in the first place.

That Arsenal quote is nonsense- as i said, you win the league, you deserve it, i do not buy the other teams were poor nonsense. Similarly, defending is a core component of the game, it is an artform, not everyone can be the G.O.A.T Barca sides and winning is the aim.

I did not interject into any beef- not my intention anyway, i just took umbrage with the nonsensical jibes that all Liverpool fans were labelled with under the guise of banter, when it is ridiculous.

Not good news about merino being out for most of the season. Although not a starter he does his part when required so will be missed and our midfield is now suddenly looking very light.

Deadline day 2moro maybe we can bring a loan in or something for a similar profile.

This means no specialist cover for Rice. I would like to see MLS given a go in his natural position but Arteta doesn't seem to trust him there. Perhaps it's time to use Eze as a backup 8 when Rice needs rest?
