Arsenal FC | 2025/26 Season

If Chelsea wanted someone like Rosenior, they should have just took some PE teacher and made him interim coach.

Truth be told the fortunes have balanced out. Arteta only beat Chelsea in the Carbao Cup and also in the PL at the Emirates because of this joke of a maneger.

Indeed

Just a 2-0 win against you and their GD is higher
By time Arsenal play Newcastle, Man City will be top and with a bigger Goal difference.

City will hammer Arsenal and Burnley in there next two games...

Looking that way isn't it.

It won't even come down to Goal difference. I can't see us picking any wins up any time soon.

Can't wait for Arteta speech at the last home game of the season if we do end up bottling it. Hopefully his resignation

I can see us dropping points vs Newcastle, West ham and Palace games..

Heck even Sporting Lisbon wont be showing any fear in CL midweek

Caceido may have been at fault with the goal but did you see how he was receiving the ball and beating the city press in the 1st half.

We'd be passing the ball back to Raya.
We don't sustain attacks where we strangle a team for 20 mins straight.
We don't transition.
We just recycle the same move over and over trying to use the wingers.

Its all gotta be instruction from the manager.
We get scolded for questioning Arteta but could somebody tell us our style of play?

We have a CF starved of service.

We have players drilled so much that they don't know what to do if things don't go their way.

I said before I don't care how we win the league just win it. But if you don't win it with this style then kindly please leave.

Even if we win the league, he needs to go. This non-existent style of play is not sustainble long term, nor is manager going to change how we play

The Champions League is a weird one now.

Its a dream of mine for us to lift it one day. The problem is we are dead on our legs due to the double game weeks and players being flogged.

I don't see us beating any of the teams left. Barca/Atletico and PSG/Bayern all will beat us either in the final or their home leg.

I'm not saying flog it but if you gave me a choice even at this stage which one we have more of a chance I'd still say PL.

Put it this way... I'll probably get bashed for saying it.

If we don't win the league but win the champions league I'd still be disappointed because of the position we threw it away from

To add to that, incredibly unfair that PSG get a full rest in between matches and if they make the final, same would happen.

Unreal!

Trust me, it would have been even worse with Odegaard. That guy is not only the most mentally weak player in the squad especially when you consider his ability. He can't hack the physicality of the PL. He's finished at the highest level.

This was a high pressure game given that we're in the back end of the season.
If and when Odegaard does come back before the end of the season he needs to tone down on his manic pressing. I feel like he gets too involved with that aspect of the game and loses sight of his playmaking responsibilities.

Having said that, Eze as a playmaker hasn’t been that great either in the league. He has 2 assists in the whole PL campaign (Odegaard has 5).

Not having a proper 10/playmaker has really hindered our campaign this season.

Eze has scored those wonderful goals against spurs but note that 5 of his 6 league goals have come against them.

Meanwhile Havertz turns out to be an even worse choice in that position and we even had Saka play there in a couple of matches.

Real Gooners @IMMY69 @MK7Z dont Panic. Whilst the plastic flip floppers will Panic. You boys hold your horses. Arsenal must use their Champions league fixture against Sporting to build confidence and play the strongest possible team. A philosophy of fast and physical football should be implemented with a view to take in to the City game. Citys Achilles heel is their defense. Arsenal must get physical and test their defense with the Ugly stuff and abit of dark arts.

Odegaard knits the play. Real football knowledgeable people will acknowledge this. This enables Arsenal to keep possession which was clearly evident when both city's and Bournemouth Midfield walked all over the static and predictable play of Arsenals Midfield.

This is awful trolling, kicking a team while it’s down . Arteta is a genius, his players have forgotten where the corner flags are! Months of rabbit and duck training yet the set pieces are drying up. Long balls jumping up and down like a bunny again at Easter will recapture the form for premier league glory ! @IMMY69 is a genuine fan , seen the glory days of fast football , now I’m sure will be content with this football clinching it. Would also help if one of their top scores ‘own goal’ returns from injury.

I'm not far from throwing the towel in tbh. Next week might determine that.

I stuck my neck on the line and said we'd win it when the season started. Tbh 90% of the season it's looked like we would. Even with this teams history - this bottle job is one for the ages and the worst of the lot. Not sure how they'd shake this off.

There's always hope I guess

The truth is, since new years, Arsenal from the “eye” have been extremely poor and got away with some lucky wins.

Even the game against Aston Villa where we scored 4 goals, Aston Villa had golden chances to come away with a 2-0 first half lead and systematically Emery had Arteta on lock but after that Onana injury, it went downhill.

You can argue at start of season no one would have predicted Arsenal to be where they are now in league; but now that we are in such position, and have significantly reduced our chances of winning the PL, this will be considered a bottle job, probably in par or just behind Manchester United in 2011-12 season ‘I believe.’

The truth is, the football we are playing is relegation level. Zero offensive identity, offensive players on 1-2 goals this Jan, no progressive passing, no face paced tempo. This is the worst attacking football I’ve seen from Arsenal. Arteta’s over cautious and defensive approach has installed insecurity in these players. Lack of rotation has cost players, you got players getting tired easily or injuries.

If Arteta fails to land a major trophy, he respectfully needs to go and we need to also let Berta go who really made some questionable signings.

The only reason we are where we are is because Manchester City until today, didn’t hit 6th gear, but now they have.

Man City, 6th gear?

The first half vs Chelsea they were poor.

First half Carabao cup final, poor.

Drew v recently vs West Ham and Forest.
Comprehensively beaten by Real Madrid, who, themselves have shown sporadic flashes.

City are not that dominant, remarkable that they could do a domestic treble but they are not infallible and can be got at.

Predict the results ?

Arsenal have to beat city to stand a chance imo . Draw isn’t bad either but loss and it’s over .

No, bro—I’m not really good at making these predictions. But I agree with you: the match against City is huge. If Arsenal manage to get a draw there, I’m quite confident they can win the league, as they have home matches against decent teams and away games against some weaker sides.

And I really hope Arsenal beat West Ham, especially since West Ham are fighting with Leeds to avoid relegation.

Everton and Bournemouth away could be tricky for City, but City are peaking at the right time, so you really can’t rule them out.

Odegaard has been largely injured/in and out this season but still gives a better performance as a 10 than Eze/Havertz/Saka who’ve also been tried in the role.

That’s the creative position in the team and unfortunately Eze has not done well there. He scored some imp goals but hasn’t really created anything through the whole season and that’s been the biggest issue for Arsenal, lack of creativity.

I don’t think Eze played as a 10 much at CP, and that shows when he gets the ball in the middle of the pitch he doesn’t really seem to know what he’s supposed to do with it. Same with Havertz, keeps losing possession when he gets the ball in a deeper position.

Odegaard should not be Arsenal’s number 10 next season onwards but at this time, he might be the only genuine playmaker in this squad.

This is has been the issue for Arsenal for a number of seasons. They seem to perform better without the added Pressure. As soon as the heat is turned up in the business end of the Season, both the Players and the Manager collapse like a pack of cards. They must reverse the trend this season otherwise this would be the mother of all collapses.

For me Odegaard is more of a 8 than 10 And its no coincidence, since his injury, Sakah has also struggled. These two have a excellent chemistry when Arsenal are playing well.

You could argue in the previous seasons they either faced a better City who were simply unstoppable or Arsenal lacked strength in depth. This season, neither was an issue. If anything, Arsenal had opportunities to maximise the lead advantage and we could’ve afforded this poor run of games.

Either way, this will psychologically affect and hurt the fan base. It will be very difficult to motivate these players again to go next season. The rightful thing is, to accept the bottle job and accept the reality. Arteta needs to go, he’ll definitely win major trophies but not at Arsenal.

But if he gets Arsenal over the line you would think the Monkey is off the back. Could be a start of a dominant period which he wins a few Majors.

That position where he played has become more of a 10 now because of rice/zubi playing as a double pivot now.

In any case, Odegaard is perhaps the only guy who can play that pass to unlock defences even this year which is probably his worst.

here we go again, the usual Odegaard dry humping. Your as clueless as the come when it comes to so called talented players

Arteta should be sacked and he can go manager Rangers. Thats his level, if some as mediocre as Gerrard can win an SPL, Then Arteta should be able to as well

100% Spot on

Man united (for 75 Mins) and Liverpool (2nd Half) exposed Arsenal tactically in games at the Emirates and since then more and more teams have taken up the tactics of having a go at Arsenal, knowing that Arsenals attack is ****. By having a go, it just heaps more pressure on the teams defence and midfield, which now has started to buckle.

Arsenal have had plenty of chances to kill of this title race, instead pathetic draws vs Wolves, Forrest etc.. other games where they essentially bottled it when they had a chance to really put things to Bed.

Also if you look at all 6 seasons, Artetas worst win % is in April. which is no shock. As soon as pressure mounts he just shits the bed.

Even the game against Wolves at Emirates, we got lucky because of a last minute header. The bottom line is, if you evaluate every game, we got away way too many times. I was starting to think how on earth we keep getting away with it, and then Man City dropping points just caused false hope as well.

I genuinely believe the football we are playing right now could take us to finish 3rd, we can even mathematically finish 4th lol. Whoever wins the PL, will be one of the poorest sides to win it imo.

Not many will agree on this but IF we land the CL/ or PL, I still want Arteta gone. Let’s see how how he approaches the game next week, it’s a final essentially which will possibly land you PL title since 2004, if he goes for the same structure, approach etc then that will conclude his mentality.

If you look at the Performance away from home in the PL, they have been average all season. Barring one or two games where the team has played well. There were numerous performances were we essentially salvaged games and either drew or won them which papered over the cracks. All season ive said that weve set up in away games not to lose and if we end up with a win its been a bonus. Essentially other than Burnley, Leeds and Spurs away the performances have been woeful.

The early season form at the Emirates, where early in season we did seem to play in a more positive Manner is why we are top currently, but as soon as it got to start of this year 2026, the home performances have suddenly become as average as the away games.

if we had had that good home start to season, yeah we would be probably 3rd or 4th.

The football isnt going to get any better, even if we some how get over the line. I agree as well, manager needs to go at end of season regardless of how it finishes. This Arsenal team is not going to dominate this era, nor will it win loads of under this manager, the cowardice tactics and timid mindset doesnt allow for it.

City for as bad as they were in 1st half of season, now have regained a slightly better defence now that some players are starting to come back. Yes they can still be got at, but now that there attackers are in full flow, they will outscore anyone they come up against. In a short period of 6-7 games in title run that will be difference. Once points are level City will essentially run away with it on goal difference, because we aint suddenly going to start playing gun ho football for last part of season.

I appreciate CL is a different ball game but after tonight's performance, I'm even more convinced that we're going to lose to City this weekend. I've decided to skip it and go play football instead.

I know logic goes out of the window but as things stand we're still on for the treble

Results matter...

Arsenal in the CL semis, good draw vs Atleti, no barca....! Good opportunity to make the final and anything can happen there...

We all know that Arteta will set up to not lose at eithad. Then look to win rest of games. No bravery in this team or squad

Good day to everyone including the Arsenal fans on this forum who are absolute circus clowns.

I scrolled past a few pages and it seems like over the past 6 months, nothing has changed. With the exception of @Obaidd they are all talking out of their backsides.

The Arteta criticism makes me laugh and it actually reflects how out of touch with reality these fans are. They are completely delusional.

The reality is that this Arsenal squad is nowhere near good enough to win the PL and the UCL and the only reason they are very close to winning both is because of Arteta.

Without Arteta, this Arsenal squad will be scrambling for top four and making to the QF of the UCL at best. It is laughable to suggest that Arteta should be sacked.

There isn’t a coach in the world who will do better with these non-world class players than Arteta has.

The goal needs to be to continue building and keep improving the squad with Arteta and Berta at the helm.

The biggest weakness in the current squad is the lack of creativity in midfield. Declan Rice is the darling of the fans but the fact is that he has very little technical ability. He runs up and down the pitch but he has no final ball. He was not worth 100m and it was a short-sighted move.

Zubimendi is technically very good but he is a deep lying playmaker, not someone who can play the advanced midfield role. The only player who fits the profile is Odegaard but he needs to get his fitness in order and also needs a mental reset.

He is short of confidence and needs a solid pre-season in the summer. If he doesn’t get back to his level next season, then he should be sold.

However, for next summer, it is paramount that dead rubber like Martinelli, Trossard, White and Jesus are sold and a #10 is signed.

Gyokeres is on course for a 20+ goals season and it is very impressive considering that he has been completely starved of service all season and no one has played to his strengths.

He will easily score as many as he did for Sporting if he gets chances. All he gets is one half chance per game and whenever he gets a decent chance, he usually takes it.

The criticism of the style of football cannot be taken without context of the given squad. Arteta cannot play free flowing, attacking football with players like Rice, Martinelli and Saka hogging the ball.

This conservative brand of football is the reason why Arsenal are where they are at the moment. If Arteta tries to play attacking football with this squad, he will struggle to finish top 3.

The revival of this football club after many, many dark years is all down to one man. If it wasn’t for him, Arsenal would be like Chelsea and United currently. Arsenal fans have no idea what will be in store for them if they get their wish and Arteta is sacked. The club will only go back.

Arsenal and Arteta will part ways one day but the time has not come yet because the squad is not ready to grow without him. The club needs to make further good signings in midfield to take this squad to a higher level.

If Arsenal win the league or the UCL this season, it will be solely due to Arteta because City, Bayern and PSG have all got superior squads than Arsenal.

Great to see your post and thanks for the kind words.

Yeah absolutely, I have tried to explain to fellow gunners here that they should be grateful to Arteta not hateful towards him. But most of these guys suffer from varying degrees of delusion.

Some like AJ have sky high impossible standards that nobody could meet but then are keen to get someone unproven like Glanser to replace Arteta. Then he talks about the Roman Abrahamovic model at Chelsea as an example of how he wants Arsenal to be run. Shows how out of touch fans are.

Then there are others who’re too nice/scared to question the narrative of hate that’s been spewed around this club.

At the bottom is the vile topsc*m who’s got the spine of a jellyfish 🤣

It’s been tough to talk sense to these folks but I have enjoyed their tears.

Of course salty rival fans love the Arteta bashing and join in with their own agendas.

What’s your prediction for the city match?

Arsenal and Arteta will part ways one day but the time has not come yet because the squad is not ready to grow without him. The club needs to make further good signings in midfield to take this squad to a higher level.

If Arsenal win the league or the UCL this season, it will be solely due to Arteta because City, Bayern and PSG have all got superior squads than Arsenal.

Beat 3 teams and you win the double ! Gyokeres is rubbish , you predicted 30 goals by January lol .

This is a great position to be in now . However the likelihood is you’ll walk away with nothing as usual Arteta style .

In 7 hours it will be known if you bottle it all again ….

I think your fellow fans have been stuck since Friday ..

Good luck Arsenal
Gyokeres is not rubbish. He is an excellent striker who guarantees goals but you have to create chances for him which Arsenal don’t.

He is much better than Isak. Outscores him for both club and country. When Gyokeres was scoring hattricks and firing Sweden to the World Cup, Isak was sitting in a wheelchair.

Gyokeres cost half the amount Isak did and he will play more matches and score more goals for Arsenal than Isak will for Liverpool.

Signing a striker with spaghetti legs for £125m was a joke. An absolute trash signing that you didn’t even need after signing Ekitike. You will be lucky to get 100 goals out of him in his Liverpool career and you will have to sell him for a significant loss.

Ekitike - 28 league matches, 11 goals

Gyokeres - 30 league matches, 12 goals

Not to forget, Liverpool play a more attacking style of football so create more chances too.

But as per Liverpool fans, Ekitike has been a top signing while Gyokeres is rubbish. What a 🤡 fan base.

Arteta will set up with a defensive formation and rightly so. The idiotic Arsenal fans who moan about playing style and demand Arsenal to take on City are too stupid to realize that if Arsenal go toe to toe with City, they will rip Arsenal into shreds and win by 3-4 goals.

Arsenal cannot play football at the same level as City. Their technical level is far superior. Arsenal will try to nick a 1-0 win today and there is more pressure on City because it is a must win match for them.

If Arsenal nick a draw today, the anti-Arsenal media narrative will try to propagate the nonsense that Arsenal don’t have the mentality to win the league but will not criticize City for failing to win a must-win match at home.

Arteta will set up the team to not lose today and not losing today would be enough to win the league. Let’s just hope that the players don’t let him down today like they have for several seasons now.

Today he can prove himself along with Arteta .

Beat city the league is won , lose today equates to yet another bottle job .

I respect you as being one of the few Arsenal fans backing your team to go win today , most are on the toilet .

Imo it will require a huge slice of luck to beat city today . Arsenal should attack early hard look for a goal lead but will sit back .

My prediction 1-0
