You are asking the same questions in two threads, but here is my answer. You can call me delusional if you want, that is your choice. However, I guarantee you that if Arsenal back Arteta, he will bring glory back to the club.

By backing I don’t just mean not sacking him, but actually supporting him in the transfer market.

Emery’s situation was different. He is a good manager but his problem at Arsenal was the communication barrier. If he improves his English he can return to English football in the future and do a better job this time around.

Arteta has been in English football for 15 years now. As soon as he arrived in Everton, he became a leader in the dressing room and regularly deputized for P. Neville. He also ended up captaining Arsenal.

He was always a leader with a great understanding of football and his mentality has been praised by pretty much everyone who worked with him. He was touted as a future manager by his managers long before he retired.

But after a few bad months, armchair critics who cannot manage a team on a football game have come to the conclusion that he cannot cut it.

This is part and parcel of football. Yes the Arsenal team is not bad enough to be 15th, but neither was the Chelsea side that the experienced and proven winner Mourinho took to 10th place in 2015-16.

But you are having a laugh if you think Arsenal will be relegated. They will still finish in top 10 even if there is no transfer activity in January.

At one point, every manager is inexperienced. Pep was also inexperienced when he took over at Barcelona in 2008. They had finished 19 points behind Madrid in 07-08,

they had an aging squad, and people were skeptical because Pep had no top flight coaching experience. Zidane was also inexperienced when he became Madrid manager.

Not everyone number 2 becomes his own man, but several do. I have no doubt in my mind that Arteta will be a top class manager, but I hope the club is patient enough to see that happen at Arsenal.

This isn’t the only instance where he has shown his value in terms of in-game tactics. He was quite cleverly more than just a laundry man or iPad merchant at Man City, that is a cry ignorant opinion.

All of these reasons have me convinced that Arteta will be a great manager as long as he is backed by the board in the market. No manager in the world can win trophies without getting the players that he needs.

Ozil has been frozen out by the club because of his comments on China which cost the club millions. Even if Arteta to play him, he doesn’t have the authority to pick him. He cannot overrule the higher ups.

Whether Ozil returns to the team or not depends on the decision that the board makes.

Besides, Ozil does not solve any problems especially not at the wage he is at. He is washed up and his best is behind him. You do not need to pay 350k to find a better CAM than a 2020 version of Ozil. You can sign two players on that money with better work rate and goal threat than him.

Wenger made two huge transfer blunders in his last two years and it is still costing the club.

First, the decision to sign Lacazette and Aubameyang in consecutive windows was nonsensical. Arsenal only needed one of the two. The other portion of the fee should have been used on a winger.

If he had the chance to sign Aubameyang he shouldn’t have wasted money on Lacazette.

Second, he should have sold Ozil alongside Sanchez. Since Sanchez was desperate to leave, Ozil blackmailed the club into paying him whatever he demanded because Wenger did not want a repeat of 2011 when he lost both Fabregas and Nasri in successive windows.

But Ozil was very much replaceable in 2018 and was certainly not worth 350k/week.

I'm sure Maddison would be tempted to join Arsenal. Let's be honest he didn't growing up dreaming of playing for Leicester. He is there to develop and move to a bigger club.

PL players are more expensive. But Arsenal need a couple of players who will come in and make an impact straight away. Premier league proven players are more likely to do this than players from a European league.

1 - he was a club captain?...how did Roy Keane do as manager?...how was Mourinho’s playing career?...

2 - manager recommendations ...they come a dime a dozen...you know Arsene Wenger rated Remi Garde as a potential manager ...do you remember how that ended up for my club?...

3 - the number 2 argument?...seriously?...how did Brian Kidd do as manager?...or Querioz?...excellent assistant managers...players loved them ...and they did terribly as managers...

But I think fans have a right to be concerned about his man management and some other decisions he has made. He is a young coach so hopefully he learns. Mustafi wants to leave. And apparently Luiz and Arteta have fallen out, so i doubt he will stay on.

There is not even talk of a new contract being offered for either Luiz or Mustafi. Mustafi has not always been even getting on the bench for PL games. That tells you everything about his future.

In all honesty, you can't trust this board to reach the right outcomes because Arsenal is the worst run club in the whole of the PL.

I get that our owners don't want to spend money but at the same time we need to recruit smarter.

Firstly, we have wasted in excess of £150m on Lacazette, Pepe, Xhaka and Mustafi.

Secondly, we didn't bring in Arteta because we felt that he was going to be a top manager. We opted for him because he was cheaper than someone who is proven and established. Time will tell if he will succeed but we would have been doing a lot better if we had Mourinho instead.

The bottom line is Arsenal need to stop experimenting with inexperience and washed up players and managers.
