Anyone watching this show? Apparently it's getting good ratings. It's a copy of Big Brother and Big Boss. Never realized that Pakistanis would end up doing such a show

I am also surprised that ARY is having this.

To be honest, I never liked Big Boss or Big Brother. I think the concept is lame.

havent watched it, but I would guess its like Big Brother or Big Boss where people live under the same house where they are isolated from outside world. Each participant gets voted out. They are given tasks by the Big Boss and are required to complete the task.

The drama and emotions of these people who live together is captured.

Basically a reality tv show.

Clearly you haven't heard of Waqar Zaka's show called "Over the Edge" if you think Pakistanis care about TV shows being religiously acceptable.

That show makes any other show in the world seem tame.

I think BOL also did a show like Tamasha Ghar with Waqar Zaka as host.

Almost every country has its own version of a show like "tamasha ghar". This isn't the first time the whole "put random people in a house" concept has been done in Pakistan. BOL did it before ARY and another channel has done it before BOL.

The genre of tamasha ghar is Reality television. They try to find attention hungry people that would do anything for fame. Normally the host would make these people do weird stuff so that the show can get more ratings. This concept works because people like watching chaos sometimes.

Same thing happening in Bangladesh.

This is why state should control entertainment industry. No questionable/inappropriate content should be allowed as it can poison youth and do damage in the long run.

Western culture has certain norms that include what you've mentioned. It's been mimicked by Bollywood. Desi culture is traditionally conservative, decent. Most Pakistani dramas are amoral that feature sordid and quite simply, disturbing storylines and premises.

Adnan Siddiqui is the host of the show. Men and Women are required to segregate when sharing rooms. Can't blame the channels for going ahead with this show if the ratings are through the roof and there is an untapped market for this.

What has liberalism got to do with Pakistani culture? Its a western concept which basically allows people to fulfill their desires as they wish. Pakistan is a Muslim nation, Islamic republic, people know and understand their beliefs and lifestyle.

Reality TV is trash, its mainly watched by people who enjoy gossip, arguments and dont have much of a life themselves for self entertainment. Some who watch Big Brother watch people sleep lol.

It might be a different format, more catered toward a Muslim/Asian culture so will be fine.

But if true above lesbians are involved it will be interesting to see who is behind this project. Others do push their ideologies onto Eastern nations.
