If you make a list of Kohli’s top 10 knocks across all formats, you will realize that Babar cannot play such knocks in his dreams.

His innings against Pakistan at the MCG last year alone is bigger than Babar’s career.

Kohli has played at least a dozen knocks better than Babar’s century against New Zealand in the World Cup where he was chasing a modest total on a UAE style wicket.

It doesn't make sense for the 20 over targe to still be 187, because Pakistan didn't know that beforehand, or they would go harder.

Don't recall kohli ever performing in a semi final or final ?

Since 2013, only babar has won a icc title. Not kohli.

Today's performance doesn't change my mind, we'll come strong. Problem is Bumrah and our own horrible middle order and spin departments
 
Pakistan's target will be 200 if it gets reduced to 20 overs. 237 for a 25-over game and 267 for 30 overs. The game can start as late as 11.15pm (ish).

Performing in semifinals and finals doesn’t make or break a career. It is only a cherry on top.

Grant Elliott is not even among the top 100 batsmen of all time even though he has produced excellent knocks in multiple ICC tournaments knockouts.

Kohli can fail in every single knockout in his career from this point and he will still be a legend and better than anyone Pakistan has ever produced.
 
If the game is shortened to 20 overs - we’ll need 156 in 9 overs :(
 
Even if rain stop at 10.30 pm it will take at least an hour to dry up the ground

Kholi no doubt is better then Babar, never ever disagreed with that. My earlier standpoints were that this forumn is too critical on babar but never critise kholi's bad performances when he's genuinely lost you games.

But in terms of who's better, Kholi obviously is. Babar is good though but I advocated that imo

Kane Williamson, Johnny bairstow, Butler, Alex Hales, Steve Smith, Kholi, These lads are all superior to babar.

I can understand one failure or 2. But kohli has consistently failed in ko matches in all odi KO games since 2011.

Even in WTC, he failed multiple times.

Kohli is a better stat padder vs weak teams. Fails in KOs.

Babar is better in big games.
 
Pandya is the next best pacer in the team after Bumrah in LOIs (even better than Siraj & Shami). Only thing is it can affect his fitness if he bowls full 10 overs. India should either go for a specialist spinner (if the pitch is slow & gripping) OR play a specialist seamer on pacy pitches OR play a proper extra batsman on absolute flat pitches. So ideally only 1 out of Thakur/Jadeja should be in the team.

Bro … Kohli is the GOAT. He has failed in knockout games because the sample size is too small, not because he couldn’t handle the pressure.

Kohli is the one player I’ve ever seen that gets BETTER with pressure.
 
Probable targets for Pakistan if overs reduced:

30 overs - 267.

25 overs - 237.

20 overs - 200.
 
Also let's not forget Pakistan has now bowled twice vs india. India got some practice vs our bowlers. That helped alot.

India is a team that's hard to beat in a long bilateral type serie but in one off ko games under pressure, they seldom win big moments. I will still back us to beat India in KO games.

All of us may have underestimated the Indian team tbh.

Rohit is a problem, but Gill has found him rhythm again, Kholi is he performs then game over, Sheryas iyer is brilliant no 4, and ishan kishan/ Rahul are decent ish at no 5, Pandya is a great no 6, and Siraj, Bumrah, Kuldeep make for a killer bowling unit.

Only issue is their horrific tail length

Do you know how bad the ground will be affected once the rain stops?

We are not getting play tonight, it’s only expected to get heavier.
 
it all depends when they start reducing overs.

If overs are not reduced, than Pakistan has advantage as they should blast it off to 139/2 by 20th and rain AFTER that will mean pakistan wins.

If we let the interruptions before 20th over to give us a target BEFORE, than we are doomed as the numbers are indicating towards 200+

Kholi isn't a stat padder, He's literally an ATG lol.

Babar isn't a stat padder either but babar isn't on kholi's Level. Just watch what kholi did from 2014 to 2016 during his peak years. Kholi did regress a bit though later on.

Yes, three useless innings in 2017 makes up for the fact that he has consistently failed against good bowling through. You can keep your delusional thoughts to yourself but Sharjeel will never play for Pakistan again.

This Indian team was bundled for 266 by the same Pakistani team, albeit with fitter bowlers than in this match. So it's Indians match this time no need for over reactions. PKakistan weakness in the 4th and fifth bowlers, and lacking a good middle order batsman, which they can easily fix with Saud, and for bowling Wasin should replace Wasim. Spin bowling is big issue though.

I am not, but two players have to be comparable for ICC tournaments performances to matter.

A good player with good ICC tournament performances is not better than a great player with average ICC tournament performances.

Babar is more than just a good player and Kohli's ICC tournament performances have been much better than average. I'm just giving a generic example.

Their side is better then us tbh. I've changed my mind. Bumrah is superior to our trio, Siraj isn't better but he's good. Kuldeep is a genuine spinner and hardik bowls 30x better then faheem ever will.

As for their batting, Their middle order is set, and Gill and rohit are back in form now. Rohit is the only issue and liability.

Other then that, they have a horrific tail so if their batting does collapse then don't except the tail to rescue them.

It's was not heavy rain, no real threats to ground. But rain will again anytime lets see.
If we have any outside chance to chase this mammoth total we need full overs.

Think Kuldeep and Jadeja will bowl the bulk of the overs till over number 20. Jadeja is easy to hit, Kuldeep a bit trickier.
 
Honestly you can tell from the mindset this just wasn't Pakistanis game. Unlike the first gane where it was clear we'd win the body language wasn't here.

Our players genuinely looked as if we weren't mentally prepared today, it was reflecting in the field, the bowling and even the batting atm. The batting doesn't look ready to chase.

Both are good, but both belong to a different class.

Kohli's class was Williamson, Smith, and Root.

Babar belongs from another class. During Babars time, KL Rahul, Jason Roy etc started playing. Both the players are top players in their respective class.

However, a direct comparison of Babar with Kohli can only be made when both players are retired or towards the end of their career. Kohli is moving towards his end, but Babar has 8 years of milage left.
 
With India’s luck, it’ll probably be rained off after 21 overs.

Their bowlers bowl 20 overs and ours have bowled over 90 in the two games. Smh

In t20 he was very good. No doubt. Talking about odi. Kohli failed there for a long time. And tests in WtC

They have the worst tail. Don't think shardul is an AR. Not sure what india is doing. Bumrah is ok can handle 10 15 runs.
Siraj is a dud with bat.
Kuldeep can't bat
Shami can tonk but he is not at his peak

Their weakness is weak tail batting. They may need to select sundar or someone. Maybe deepak


We need to pick either wasim or ihansullah for number 8
