Arjit singh is a singer.

was expecting more from arjit but he can't perform live, has better voice but ultimate rockstar here is atif bhai.

Atif's singing is comparable to Himesh Reshamia's, so I can understand why many don't rate him as a singer.

Don't get the hate for Atif. Love his rendition of Kun faya kun, Tu Chahiye and other songs. First noticed him from the song in Race. But agree, his voice is kinda too nasal that can put off a few people.

Love Arjit's songs. Guy has a great voice. One of my favourite musical performances:

who was the guy who went ballistic on Atif aslam in some song show a few years ago?

Atif is unconventional, he is basically a product of the Pak Rock/Pop industry which did not require classically trained singers. I personally prefer Atif as he is a complete entertainer. He released his own music and did not rely entirely on playback singing.

Is this even a comparison? Arijit is a trained singer and has sung almost 500 songs in movies in just 5 years and how many Atif has sung? 20 or 30? Recently Rahat Fateh Ali Khan took a potshot at Atif and said it is sad to see few Pakistani singers who can't sing properly and don't know the basics of singing are becoming famous in Bollywood by mixing their voices using softwares and instruments. If Arijit is an engineer then Atif is untrained technician. Even Sunidhi Chauhan once said Atif can't sing lol.

Sid Sriram is better than both. What say, street cricketer and sensible-indian-fan? :P

Horses for courses, both very good for particular types of songs.
Arjit has the edge over Atif for me.

Atif has gone long long way and specially his lyrics are awesome, Arjit comes up with a very bad average i.e 2/10 of his songs are good.

Atif brought somethingh diffrent to indo pak musik industry becouse of him now no one like to sing like sonu nigham udit kumar sanu becouse they were inspired by kishor rafi but new indian singer including arijit are inspired by atif
So thst makes atif better

Mohenjadaro title song by Arijit singh.

A R Rahman's music is awesome!

Don't know about you guys but Atif was amazing in Tajdaar-e-Haram

arjit is atif aslams copy, dude copied Pakistani style by bringing in guitar in his songs...you cant even hear him out in live concert.

Arijit for me personally.

Can't tolerate atif's fake voice.

Pakistan has so many nice singers but this one is overhyped

Arijit is like Kohli. Atif is Dhoni.

Kohli got the perfect coaching and academies from a young age much like Arijit being born into a family already heavily invested in the music industry with both mother and grandmother as singers. His parents nurtured him as a musician from a young age, so naturally, he would be the more equipped singer like Kohli having all the shots and perfect technique.

Atif however picked up music later in life and didn't have that much support from his family, he basically did it as a hobby much like Dhoni playing cricket part time and only getting into cricket around the age of 16 while mainly doing jobs like ticket collector. Like Dhoni, his natural talent and street smartness carried him through to a successful music career.

The fact that Atif can compete with a seasoned and developed singer like Arijit speaks volumes of his talent.

I am still shocked people comparing them Atif is not a singer and Arjit is one of the better singers of this era.

I have seen them both perform live at one of the shows. Atif is a very lively performer, really lights up the stage. Arijit is good too.

In terms of singing, there is absolutely no comparison. Atif is way behind a lot of popular singers, leave Arijit who is actually pretty good for Bollywood standards.

both of them have sung some excellent songs.. really like arijit and Atif I used to really like during his initial days in bollywood..

I like arijit singh,,, I love TUM HI HO , SAWAN AYA HAI , MUSKURANAY KI WAJA ,

Arijit Singh or Atif Aslam, Who is the better singer?

Question is Simple.Who would you guys pick?

Both fantastic singers. I'm a big fan of both.

Saw Atif live a few years ago and he was superb.

Definitely want to watch Arjit in concert one day.

I think there already is a thread on this but I choose Atif. Great great singer with deep meaningful lyrics

Arijit Singh hands down.

Phir Mohobat was an outrageous song and I believe one of his first few movie songs.

Salamat was also a very fine song

Arjit Singh is extremely overrated but he is still way better than Atif

Atif has declined after focusing on playback singing.
Atif as a pop singer is an all time great.

His first and 2nd album Jal Pari and Doorie were massive hits. 2002-2011 was the best era of Pak music and Atif was at the top of table. Adat was a song that changed dimensions of Pak pop and rock music.

I remember soooo many bands from university/college taking music seriously after Aadat and then we saw the best era of Pak music with a variety of pop, rock and even metal bands where every other album was a hit. Thats the kind of impact Atif and Gohar had.

Atiff may not have a great voice but he sung some very memorable songs.

In the end that's what you will be remembered for, not how technically good your voice was.

havent heard of the arjith guy though that must be my own ignorance as i dont really follow bollywood

i first though it was same guy who had a fight with atif aslam on some music show

Both are great. Both have delivered some amazing songs over the years and put on great live shows and that is what matters. Not who has a pure voice or other technicalities of singing. Right now I would put Arijit ahead.

Arijit is good but considering all legends he is way below par, luckily for him he ended up with some of the top music directors and writers compared to other singers, also he does a lot of live events.

Mohit Chauhan,Arko imo are actually better with much more variety and depth to their singing.

JaDed

Amit Mishra is also a very good singer

But some of Arijit's songs are too good.

Salamat was an outrageous song, good job by Amaal Malik there

Yes,thing with Arijit is he is on a success spree, almost like Kumar Sanu in terms of very similar tunes, but can he keep up or fade like Sanu, legends like Rafi,Kishore,Mukesh were able to evolve.

Personally its a very difficult choice since both are masters of love songs and both have very versatile voices. At the moment tho, I'd pick Arijit because of his recent songs like Hawayein, Safar, Channa Mereya etc etc.

But again a very difficult choice overall.

I've changed my mind.

Atif has added a very beautiful Sufi and classical touch to his voice with songs like Aye Kuch Abr, Wohi Khuda Hai and Pardadari all of which display his immaculate control over his voice.

Now I'm a bigger fan of Atif.

If we talk about versatility then I feel Arijit covers more genres than Atif and can sound very different in different songs e.g. Phir Le Aya Dil and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil etc.

However, I feel Atif has a very unique voice quality, immense control and has given countless memorable songs for the ages. His 1st and 2nd albums' songs I still remember by heart and bring a lot of nostalgia so for me Atif is better.

P.S. Jalpari, Yakeen and Dil Haray are especially close to my heart.

Ok, i have a very little knowledge about music. Now the question is that which type of genres's song have arjit done but atif didn't??

Was just thinking of Arijit Singh on another thread. What do you guys think of Bekhayali? It's mesmerizing. Hadi Rizvi

It's a beautiful song but I prefer Sachet Tandon's version which is the original one.

I still remember belting it out in my car when it first came out. Addictive song this.

Kabir Singh had a lot of great songs.

Every song in that movie is special. Absolutely loved it

Exactly, I listened to it on repeat for a few months last year

It really be like that, I first realised it when comparing Arijit and Ali Zafar's versions of songs in Dear Zindagi, Ali's versions are far superior

I’m also curious as to how one can say that Arjit is more versatile than Atif.

Atif started with pop/rock moved onto playback performed many times in live studio and recently recorded Sufi themed tunes.
Live Atif can perform the whole range of songs and for me he outdoes Arjit in this setting. Personally I have not been that impressed by Arjit

Agree with that, I don't think Arijit has published any album or even any singles for that matter. This also gives Atif a different edge as it is easier to sing songs you've written for yourself as you can connect to the feelings and themes behind them as opposed to singing songs that were written by someone else to be sung by whoever the producers could sign for that project. Cant see where this versatility angle is coming from tbh

After winning hearts with a number of his songs including Kesariya, Tum Hi Ho and more, Arijit Singh is currently on tour across India! While the singer has been having the time of his life with his fans, a recent incident involving an overexcited fan left him injured.

In a now viral video from his Aurangabad concert, the Kesariya singer could be seen interacting with his fans in between his performances, like he always does. However, during this concert, an eager fan attempted to grab Arijit's hand to shake it which resulted in the singer losing his balance and injuring his hand. Despite getting injured Arijit didn’t lose his temper, instead trying to make the person realize his mistake. "Why did you pull my hand? See, now I can’t even move my hand. It’s a simple equation. If I can’t perform how will the show continue? I want to interact with all my fans and I have immense love for all of you. But you have to understand things like this shouldn’t happen," he could be heard saying politely to the excited fan.

When the fan seemingly tried to argue back, the singer asked, "Now my hand is shaking, so should I leave," provoking a resounding no from the audience. Check out the video right here:

Not wanting to stop the show mid-way, the ace singer received initial treatment on stage and then received proper treatment afterwards.

Enjoy the song. Once again, Atif Aslam delivers magic.

Atif Aslam is a versatile singer whereas Arijit Singh a bit single dimensional who can only sing sad romantic songs.
