What's new

Australia (133/6) take slender lead of 2 runs but India in control at Stumps on Day 3 of 2nd Test

Jadeja has been strictly average as a spinner so far.

That was a quicker one and Wade had no answers to that. Wasted a review as well.

150 will still be difficult. However my guess is India will be chasing 100 less than that

Congrats India - it's a wonderful, wonderful Test win - one of the biggest in history.

Missing main batsman & Captain, lost toss at MCG, missing couple of first choice bowlers, then losing the opening bowler at the start of second innings, losing the centurion by run-out ....... and playing against a pair of Aussie Umpires - the most corrupt, biased home umpires of all countries ... still they are winning it.

Have to give it to team India. Kudos.

Mr Rahane first got him run out. Follows it with a duck under his captaincy. Then does brilliant job as captain. The scores a century. Is he playing it against Kohli.

Any views change on Labushagne

We haven’t won the match yet, anything near 100 and we can collapse

Australia in a hole, watch umpires now. They will come to the party to rescue.

Shamis’s injury has been a blessing for India. They found a more potent test bowler in Siraj!

If shami was'nt injured we would have played Siraj ahead of Yadav so its not a blessing.
Shami is one of our pillars. Also he was our best pacer in the first test, was unlucky to not get a wicket

Still not - batsman can have an odd series. He has built his reputation over two years - can't lose it over two Tests.

Not over 2 tests. Even before. The way he plays he will give lot of chances even before he crosses 20.

I rate Shami highly but just said his injury helped Siraj to debut here. Happy for him anyway.

The GOAT Asian Test team. Phenomenal mentality.

No one expected this performance after the 36 all out disaster especially without Kohli.

Pakistani fans and media deserve this humiliation. They were dancing after Adelaide but have gone quiet now.

This is what happens when you disrespect teams that are far, far better than you.

Jadeja and Ashwin together are just so good. Jadeja always strikes a wicket or two, even if he is playing as genuine all-rounder rather than a bowler who is lower order bat.

Real test of bowlers starts from here. Let's see how long will we take to dismiss the remaining batsman. :inti

Amazing Shane Warne is still not talking about a loss. Just love that about him. Seen him do that often. Not over till it’s over

Adds so much value to Indian test team. Certainly much better than guys like Pandya. :inti

India 95% winning here.
Done astonishingly well in this test.

I said before the test Rahane captaining the team after Kohli's departure may end up beneficial for India. His laid back approach could let his team express themselves better and India doing that extremely well.
Coming back after a shambles collapse in Australia is a big big thing.

With Ashwin and Jadeja doing well, it can be assumed now that Saha's career is done and dusted. An excellent specialist keeper who played a good role for transition between Dhoni and Pant.

Pant is exactly you need at no 6 from your keeper batsman, goes after bowling , his drives and pull shots are pretty elegant on eyes :inti

Damn. Haven’t been following this match (because I’m too much of a Pakistan fan and keep watching our train wreck team) but very well done to the Indian team and congrats to the fans!

I won't mind KL Rahul as a keeper batsman at number 6 in tests as well. :inti

With “zero leadership” skills, he has won 33 Tests as captain (most by any Asian captain) and kept India at the top of rankings for 4 years. I wish we could also produce a cricket with “zero leadership” skills like him.

:))) Good one.

I think ball and bat had bit of a gap in that Paine’s dismissal.

Warne is ** ing lol He is comparing "shoe scratching noise" noise of a nick. They are very different.

Oof! So Snicko with no other support & no proof what caused a noise is enough to overturn? To support fair enough but overturn? Boo!

India right on top & smashing Oz here. India made some great selection calls & Oz has got their team all muddled with 1 poor opener & 1 makeshift T20 opener + some anonymous guys like Head filling spots.

There was a noise. Probably the faintest of the edge something even batsman failed to notice. Remember Dinesh karthik did not have a hot spot when he got out in the 90s. But he confirmed he had a faint nick.

Umpires just refusing to give any out decisions in the middle. Trying their best.

Quality cricket from Indian team. Captain leading from the front backed by great tactics and execution in bowling.

So Warne is implying that since Pant wasn't enthusiastic enough during that Paine appeal so Paine wasn't out.
