Australia (181 & 162/4) defeat India (185 & 157) by 6 wickets in the 5th Test match and win the 5-match series 3-1

Which side will win the 5th Test between Australia and India?

just logged in and seeing Bumrah leaving. I said this before start of match, if I was Bumrah I would rest myself and get fit for IPL coming up. These useless test matches arent worth risking some 20+ Crore IPL career.

Everyone is not greedy like Bangladesh and Bangladeshi sellout umpire .

:kp

Done and dusted .
Pity, test and series would have been so much livelier with him bowling.

I would have liked Aus to win here with BUmrah bowling and not without him.

Anyway, test is done here then. Other Indians bowlers are not going to pick up 20 wickets cheaply to win it with one bowler short.

Great entertainment while it lasted.

Hahahaha Sunnyg and Mark Nicholas are for sure employed by Virat's PR team. This is getting severely cringe now. Going gaga over a regulation slips catch as if he did a Steve Smith or Ponting lol.

Or maybe they're just happy he held one.

Good bowling by India. P Krishna and Siraj coming to the party makes this bowling attack so much more potent. Interesting phase of play.

The quality of India's slip catching vis a vis Pakistan. This is the difference bw competing against big teams.

HOpe pitch cracks and spinners come into equation. That is the only hope
It's easier to chase 200 runs unless it's a turner. It's much harder with some great pacers.

I will bank on Aus to win this one inning shootout if India does not score many runs. One bowler short and that too Bumrah, means huge advantage.

Fantastic fight back by the pace attack. However don’t get too excited, we are going to be 30/5 in a matter of an hour here. This batting has continued to let us down for ages i know test cricket. I have absolutely no hopes from them putting up a decent total to defend.

This is a great series neverthless. I never expected India to survive whole series. One legend retired midway. Captain kicked out. Shami never arrived as we were told.

No matter what people say, this is why India has been successful in Australia despite adversity and skill gaps—their unwavering, never-say-die attitude.

It’ll be a second inning shoot out for the win and we don’t have bumrah and half of our batting line up is cripple .

Australia easily hold all aces

Is it really?
I honestly think Bumrah’s historic performance here has carried this whole series to the 5th test otherwise thanks to a terrible terrible batting display from Bharat and a very average support rec’d to Bumrah from his bowling partners, we would have been staring at a humiliating whitewash. It’s still going to be 1-3 most likely which is also bad. In my lifetime as a fan of the game I have not seen our country putting up such a sorry test batting line up even the 90s match fixers were better bro.

Dissapointed with Aus here.

Anyway, one inning shoot out now going to decide the series.

Aus - Ind series has not failed to dissapoint in the last 10 years.

Aus should take this with India losing the best pacer.

I thought australia would have easily scored 300+

But now without Bumrah australia is big favourite.

80-20 to Australia

I am glad Rohit was not captaining. IN a scenario without Bumrah you will be looking at a 100 run partnership between Cummins and Webster then another 100 run partnership between Boland and Lyon

STAT: Only the second time in the last 70 years at SCG both teams have been bowled out under 200 in their first innings. The other instance happened in the Test bw England (123) & Australia (145) in 1979/80.

I think Junaid is half right about his opinion on this series. It’s been a pathetic batting effort from both sides. One of the poorest quality batting I have seen for a supposedly premier test series. Not a great sign for cricket.

You expect to watch top quality batting, even if the scores are low if that’s down to great bowling which we are seeing btw.
