What's new

Australia [285/7] defeat England [221] by 64 runs and reach semi-finals of World Cup 2019

If you can't pick up wickets in these conditions with new ball, you should consider retirement lol Great conditions for seamers.

Is there a single fan supporting England today? :))

Nothing would please more more than an England loss.

Mohammad Amir would have thoroughly enjoyed these conditions. I think bar few early balls they are not using the conditions very well. They can still pick up a wicket or two. But they should stop bowling short.

What happened in the 80s and 90s has nothing to do with this English team. They did falter in the last two events, but it is time for them to show that they have learned.

Alright, so it isn't a false label then, that they can't handle pressure.

You say they have learned, but from the PAK and SL match, it sure did tell us how much they've learned. :najam

And today, where the conditions are ideal for bowling, ball seaming and swinging miles, England still haven't been able to buy a wicket so far.

I haven't seen this much bowler-friendly conditions in England (ODIs) in a super long time.

Yet, till now Australia seems to be on top - showing they're a better team than the bilaterals-bully England. Though ENG still have some 5 overs to target them.

Who are you backing to win? Stick your neck out. :shezzy

Finch having real trouble with the extra bounce and seam. Slashed one over slips in the first over, now edged and nearly caught at point.

All of IND is supporting England today, because an ENG win doesn't help Pak. :srini

Of course, rest of the world is supporting Australia.

Nobody really likes this overrated and overhyped ENG team, especially their captain who hasn't really inspired fans. Plus "350 is par" and "we'll make 500".

Wrong ball to Finch. I don't know what the England think does. Bhuvi made Finch life miserable for the lat few months with that incoming balls on a length. Got him out thrice, rapped him on pads, beating him numerous times

If England win today and lose the other two with Australia losing all their remaining games, Pakistan has a shot at coming 3rd.

Best bowling conditions in England in many years I reckon.

In ODIs, I haven't seen this extent of seam+swing friendly conditions in a really long time.

So far OZs doing a fine job surviving.

England will come hard at India :) That may be the reason?

Finch survives another scare, has not looked comfortable at all.

Damn, is this a Test match?

The ball is moving miles! :danish

OZ openers doing a GREAT job surviving this so far - just survive first 10 overs, and a HUGE score is on the cards.

Australia are slowly but surely taking control here. England shouldn't have lost to Sri Lanka. You do not want to run into Australia under so much pressure!

If the ball moves this way in the second innings, I can't see a single English batsman who can survive and score against Starc and Cummins :))

One thing about England attack is , in typical helpful english conditions you have to keep repeating the same thing. I don't see that happening. They keep altering line and length. It gives Aussies breathing space. They are not relentless like Bhuvi or Amir.

Clouderson is another guy who would repeat the same thing over and over until he gets his man in these conditions.

One of these 2 has to go big. Smith and Khawaja will.keep it ticking nicely in the middle overs. Excellent start.

Only in this ovet has woakes hit right length. Finch bein lucky but thats the way he plays

I still believe england must have batted first this kookabora ball doesnt do much after 3 or 4 overs

Any score near 300 cat will out among pigens not looking good for england looking grear for pakistan

Haha. Wake up it's a WC. Anything over 250 is a tough chase.

Exactly. All other teams have understood already but why does Morgan want to chase in all games?! Baffling tactics.. They already lost 2 games chasing against Pakistan and Sri Lanka...

ICC ranked this match and ticket prices the same as India v Pakistan.

Such a dead atmosphere in the crowed.

England have bowled decently but no wickets. Mamoon if it was Amir you would be calling it not good enough. Let's see if you hold your favourite team to the same standard. :uakmal

Par for the course. SA might not win world cups. But their atmoshpere is priceless. Best SENA country atmosphere.

Asian Fans actually enjoy watching England lose even if it's in a bilateral series and outcome means nothing for their team.

3 balls hitting the stump

Not decent at all

Fluke batting by this pair so far. They should buy lottery tickets today. I can't believe their luck.

Fear of imploding in the swinging conditions? lol For all the bravado talks about their batting depth they are not confident about surviving and putting up a total and defend.

Aided by rubbish bowling on this track. Any decent right arm swing bowler would have swallowed Finch thrice by now.

Rasheed and imran tahir fielding have improved.they are fielding better tha our youngsta beauty

If people want to know why it's a dead atmosphere it's because there is a lot of MCC members in the ground. They are usually older people who attend Lord's games. If it was at another ground , there could have been more younger fans which would have ensured a better atmosphere than this.

Yes, true. English don't trust their bowling as much as their batting. In a way, they're a perfect bat first template team, similar to India between 2008-11. Sad they haven't realized that.

Pakistan would be two down on this surface so far. Australia have somehow managed to weather the storm.
