Marnus Labuschagne :

"Look I am always learning - Azhar Ali and Imam-ul-Haq batted beautifully and they were patient; They didn't really give us anything, no real opportunity apart from that nick (off Imam-ul-Haq); You just need to be patient and disciplined in your game, and making sure you focussed for a long period of time"

"For us it seemed very dark when we were batting, they obviously thought they would be able to ball pace in that light and that's why they declared; I can understand that decision from their view point, and obviously when they got out there, they found out that it was too dark to bowl pace; So they had the option to bowl spin - they tried for one over and they thought they'd wait and I assume give Shaheen the new ball tomorrow"

"We have to bat really well tomorrow where we have to bat well as a batting group and put some pressure back on Pakistan, and Day 4 will be the moving day where if bat really well on Day 4, we can give ourselves an opportunity, potentially, on Day 5; But once again, I am looking so far ahead, about match scenarios playing out in my head, but the only way we can get ourselves into that situation is by taking it ball at a time and making sure that we don't leave it upto anyone else"

Azhar Ali:

"Obviously due to the presence of cloud cover at the end of the day, the light deteriorated very quickly but our plan was to give ourselves an hour to get 2-3 wickets; Due to bad light, unfortunately, we couldn't do that; Our plan was to make the first innings count and to bat long; We have to give credit to the Australian bowlers in the way they bowled to us, they came in with a lot of intent and not let us score freely and the ball started to reverse swing later on which made it hard for us to score fluently"

“I wanted to score a double hundred, but they did not allow quick runs. When I took risks against spinners, I got out"

“I enjoy scoring runs against Australia, who are definitely one of the top teams in the world"

“I think the pitch will become more challenging by the end of the third day and it would become more difficult to freely score runs"

“We have to do good planning against the Australian team, as it will not be easy to get their batters out"

“I am glad to see Imam performing so well in Test matches as his performance in ODIs was already excellent"

Pakistan should've accelerated more once they crossed 350.

Nonetheless, they are in a good position.

Pakistan should have got to this score 10 overs earlier however Pakistan can't loose from this situation.

The one thing I dislike is players talking about personal milestones. Who cares if you score 180, 199 or 200. End of the day the total score matters and what you achieve as a team!
