Australia reach 116/2 at Stumps on rain-shortened Day 2 of the 3rd Test against Pakistan

That is a good work done by both Jamal and Rizwan. Wickets will come, just be consistent and be patient.
 
Jamal amazing player... a true fighter need more players like him in the team
 
Match as been delayed due to bad light. Overcast condition are making it tough for the game to be carried on.
 
Aussies chickening out. They were playing negative cricket and now run from the field.

There was no real danger for the batters still the game was stopped by the umpires. Rain will come soon anyway.
 
Batsmen didn't struggle to pick one ball out of the hand and now it's 'bad light' all of a sudden, what a carry on
 
Umpires asked shan to bowl spinners from both ends to continue. He denied - wanted to use pacers. Do Umpires walked off for bad light
 
The umpires offered Masood to bowl spin from both the ends, but the captain wanted pace from one end, hence they are off the field
 
I don't think there is anything wrong with the light. Umpires are seeing things which I could not I believe.

With the lights on - even pacers bowling from both ends should be a non issue. Cricket with its stupidity
 
Umpires have shown some common sense and early tea has been taken now. Hope so the game will start after tea break now.

Bad strategy by shan here. Aus were struggling a little. Even with 2 spinners he could have had a wicket. Negative mindset
 
This is below-the-belt stuff from the umpires. I guess that game should have continued, it was not that dark that you had to stop the game.

Aus batsmen were not comfortable with the pak spinners.. could have gotten an extra wicket. Pak is 2-0 down and they need to be more proactive if they want a win compared to aus

Could have tried to get as much cricket in as possible before the rain but seems like the archaic light rule prevails. What's even the point of turning on the light towers!

As expected, Sajid's selection was pointless. Outbowled by part timer agha. Most of us saw this coming, what was the management thinking?

Specialist spinner is just a tag, he was never going to be useful in Australia.

Today is done & dusted , forecast for next 3 days suggests we might lose a session tomorrow but last 2 days are good so 240 - 250 overs left in the game . Unless Aussies collapse to something like 250 all out in say 30-40 overs or step up the scoring & score 300-330 runs in next 90 overs & then bowl very well , result seems a bit difficult !
 
Pakistan has a slight advantage at this stage having taken that second wicket. But seamers needs to stand up tomorrow.

That's true but I'll reserve my judgement for now. If this game goes onto 4th innings where Australia need some runs to win. He may prove more useful on Day 4 or 5 pitch.
 
This was a very winnable series if Naseem was fit. Pak have been captained well, just needed that extra bit of skill that he provides.

Sydney's Weather and Warner's Farewell Dampen Spirits at SCG Test

At the Sydney New Year's Test, David Warner's possibly last Test innings was unexpectedly shortened due to Pakistan's fielding mishaps and Sydney's infamous summer weather. Warner, who had an opportunity for a memorable send-off, was let off at slip after making 20 but got out for 34 on a day plagued by rain. Usman Khawaja, grabbing the spotlight, led the scoring with 47.

Despite a hesitant start, Khawaja eventually found his stride, particularly against Pakistan's off-spinner Sajid Khan, signaling a change in the game's direction.

Pakistan's fielding troubles were evident again when newcomer Saim Ayub dropped Warner at slip off Aamir Jamal's bowling. This incident was a continuation of Pakistan's fielding issues throughout the tour. The slip cordon was rearranged, with Salman Ali Agha and Babar Azam at first and second slip, but Salman's temporary absence led to Saim, a less experienced slip fielder, taking up this key position.

I remember bad light taking half a day during our 2018-19 series in Aus. Then next day it drizzled throughout and Aus escaped with a draw when we should have easily won by an innings. Same Sydney weather cost us a series win in 1985 also, another innings win was there for the taking. Rare venue in Aus where weather isn't all that great during cricket season.
 
If one thing management can do after this tour is please NEVER select nauman ali and sajid khan from 6 team australian system again .

Plz invest in some younger spinner .
 
Pakistan have the basis of a useful attack with some balance of a lower order batting for the future. Agha Salman at 7, he looks to have the mentality to play in SENA countries. Jamal at 8 and the 4th seamer. Shaheen and Naseem the new ball and Mir Hamza as 3rd seamer.
 
Shan seems to enjoy captaincy(so far!) Babar made it look a burden but Shan looks to have confidence and the players like playing for him he doesn't look to blame them for every mistake. Enjoying the role of captain is an important element.

Caught some of the match. This is very much like some of the Asian pitches. Ball hardly rose above knee. Also distinct lack of pace.
 
Can some explain on what criteria Pakistan is selecting its slip fielder? Because in this series its Been shambolic to say the least, players who look like they couldn't catch a cold in the Antarctica, are trying to catch a cricket ball in most pathetic manner.

Prime example being a player on debut going straight in at 1st slip
 
If Pakistan was batting the umpires would of continued play without a doubt even with the pacers.

you can guarantee that.

There is always double standards when Pakistan play.

Jamal leading the way with bat and ball a nice handy 30 average with the Bat.
